The dull sound of impact echoed far into the night.
Xiao Jie felt as though he had been struck head-on by a truck, in an instant, his killing intent, bloodthirsty desire, and the occasional unease and confusion that bubbled up from his remaining consciousness all plunged into darkness.
He didn’t know how much ti had passed when he faintly heard so noisy voices.
“Quick, up on the tank, grab it!
Close combat troops form a Gun Formation, don’t let it slice through our backline!”
The mont Xiao Jie opened his eyes, he found himself in wetlands; the environnt around him was incredibly familiar, the muddy swamp moistening his scales, the pervasive moisture feeling like a refreshing spring breeze.
However, at this mont, a group of unwelco guests shattered the tranquility of the swamp.
Before him stood a fearless General clad in iron armor; the pitch-black iron hid his body entirely, save for a pair of eyes peering through the slit in the helt.
Above him were a few words.
Ba Tian Kuanglong!
“The tank is in position, on my command—charge—Kill!”
The General roared fiercely, and swords, long spears, and big halberds suddenly stabbed from all around.
Lightning and flas, arrows rained like showers!
Xiao Jie roared, spewing out bursts of poison fog, but a Taoist summoned a gale to scatter it.
He flung his tail, sending enemies flying through the air; those wounded were imdiately retreating, chugging red bottles.
Newcors took their places, and several tis Xiao Jie tried to break through the encirclent but was pushed back by long spears and big halberds.
“Demon—co and fight !” the black-armored General shouted.
Sohow, Xiao Jie suddenly felt an uncontrollable surge of rage, ignoring the surrounding attacks, he lunged ferociously at the General.
His tail propelling him upwards, he poised for a high dive, just as he was about to seize the man.
Pffft!
A sharp pain pierced his chest; looking down, Xiao Jie saw a long spear impaling his heart, and everything in front of him once again sank into darkness.
“Keep your distance, shoot arrows!
Shoot arrows!”
It was that familiar human voice again.
Opening his eyes, he found himself under attack by a dozen Knights, surrounded by the familiar valley; every grass and tree he knew well.
Those Knights were riding fast horses, fully ard, yet they did not co forward for lee, keeping their distance and frantically shooting arrows.
The sensation of pain kept hitting him, and glancing down, he saw his body riddled with arrows.
Roar!
Xiao Jie let out a furious roar and pounced toward a Knight; however, the Knight abruptly dashed, instantly sprinting away, and yet again, a severe pain followed from behind.
Xiao Jie roared and howled, continually trying to pounce on his enemies but always rapidly distanced.
The Knights did not engage him head-on, moving continuously, shooting arrows, his body swiftly bristling with arrows like a porcupine.
Xiao Jie roared, summoning his Chang Ghosts for assistance, but imdiately, a Taoist dissipated them with a spell.
He looked furiously at the Taoist; from the corner of his eye, she seed to be a woman.
Just as he was about to pounce and bite her to death.
A White Horse Knight galloped past, an arrow with a cold gleam flashed by, and Xiao Jie felt a pain in his chest, looking up at the inscription above the Knight’s head—Dragon Control?
Once more, darkness fell before his eyes.
Again, a suffocating silence, followed by a faint voice, almost like a whisper at his ear.
“Ru, should we call a few more people?”
“No need for such trouble, it’s just a re Cat Demon; its tails have not yet split, most assuredly not formidable.”
That voice ca from ahead, and lifting his head, Xiao Jie suddenly realized he was crouched in a bush, four limbs on the ground, belly tight against the earth, his predatory instincts preventing him from acting rashly as he slowly drew closer to the source of the voice.
A man and a woman, a Swordsman and a Taoist, were walking through the forest.
Now was the mont; he surged swiftly toward the Taoist’s back, when about five or six ters away, he instantly made a flying pounce.
With one swipe of his paw, the Taoist turned into a straw man covered with a paper-pasted Daoist robe.
ow?
Confusion swirled through Xiao Jie’s mind.
But a cold voice ca from behind, “Hehe, is this demon actually kind of cute?
What a sha—demon is still a demon—evil beast, your ti to die has co!”
Xiao Jie abruptly turned around and saw a beautiful woman with a face like the autumn moon holding a Rune Iron Sword.
The blade was ringed with electric light, and although he didn’t know what spell it was, Xiao Jie instantly felt a trendous sense of fear.
He turned to run, but eight trapping demon runes appeared beneath his feet, rendering him immobile.
He watched helplessly as lightning gathered above his head.
The Taoist’s voice echoed in the air.
“Nine Heavens Divine Thunder—descend!”
Boom!
The mont the dazzling lightning struck, Xiao Jie also saw the na above the woman’s head—Listen to Dragon Roar.
Then, the next second with a loud bang, intense pain caused him to lose consciousness, as if he had been hit by a truck, and he completely blacked out.
How much ti passed, Xiao Jie didn’t know, but his scattered consciousness finally began to recover from the chaos.
He slowly opened his eyes from the coma to find a sowhat familiar ceiling—hey, isn’t this Chen Tianwen’s house?
He moved his body and found himself tightly bound to an armchair with transparent tape.
What’s happened to ?
Xiao Jie’s head throbbed painfully as fragnts of mories kept surfacing.
Recalling yesterday’s events more clearly, Xiao Jie slowly ca to his senses.
Holy shit!
Was I possessed by a ghost?
No, that’s too simple.
What about those weird dreams before that?
As he cald his thoughts, Xiao Jie quickly understood the connection.
In those strange dreams, he was not human, but—a demon!
A Snake Demon, a Tiger Demon, a Cat Demon.
Damn it, it must be those Demon Cores causing trouble!
Aren’t the scenes in those three bizarre dreams all about these demons being ganged upon and killed by players of the Dragon Soaring Knights?
But how did such a misfortune befall him?
Could it be—the Immortal Transformation Gourd?
Spiritual Energy?
Right, it must be because he absorbed Spiritual Energy—that Spiritual Energy was refined from the inner cores of demons, perhaps not as pure as normal Spiritual Energy, maybe it was mixed with so demon power or sothing.
Xiao Jie quickly linked the key pieces of information together.
Obviously, while transforming Spiritual Energy with the Immortal Transformation Gourd, he also converted so mories or instincts from the Demon Race.
After absorbing the Spiritual Energy, he was driven and controlled by these beast-like instincts.
Thankfully, these instincts were just instincts with no real thoughts behind them.
After a night of confusion, he had managed to recover.
But what happened before?
“Hey, you’re awake, do you recognize ?” An Ran’s voice made Xiao Jie look up to see An Ran holding a chicken leg, teasingly looking at him.
“An Ran, why am I tied up here?”
“Alright, it seems you’re truly awake—Chen Daxian!”
Chen Tianwen walked in from outside.
“Ha ha, Xiao, how was your sleep?”
“Was it you two who brought here?”
Chen Tianwen nodded, “That’s right, otherwise we couldn’t just let you go on a rampage in the city.”
Xiao Jie’s face suddenly changed; he also rembered the last thought he had before losing consciousness yesterday.
“I didn’t…”
“Eat people?
Don’t worry, how could we possibly let you get out of hand in reality?
If you had really eaten soone, all of Jiangbei City’s players would be implicated.
Okay, I will untie you now.”
While peeling off the transparent tape from his body, Xiao Jie curiously asked, “How did you two know sothing was going to happen to ?”
An Ran replied, “Chen Daxian divined it.”
Xiao Jie looked at Chen Tianwen in surprise, “You could figure that out?
That’s amazing, how co you suddenly decided to divine for ?”
Chen Tianwen shook his head, “It wasn’t divination for you, it was just a feeling I had because your trouble would involve , so I was able to sense it.
Co on, let’s have breakfast first—you must be starving.
We can talk while we eat.”
