253: Chapter 80: Base Defense Battle 253: Chapter 80: Base Defense Battle “Alright everyone, it’s ti to start today’s activity—get ready—let’s go!”
As Hidden Dragon Do Not Use issued the command, the team of over forty people imdiately rushed towards the city outskirts.
Although all forty or so individuals belonged to one guild, there were clearly internal divisions among them.
The largest force was naturally led by Hidden Dragon Do Not Use’s core mbers, especially the vanguard composed of ten General players, the true iron cavalry.
Then there were so outer circle mbers gathered around him.
Dida La had a small group of five, all above Level 20.
Salted Fish, on the other hand, had a dozen or so mbers of varying levels.
Even Xiao Jie himself now had his own small team—the Dongfang Sheng trio, the Deceitful Fox trio, and Ye Luo.
It must be said that the Dragon Soaring Knight’s decision to provide mounts to those who joined early was very sensible; at this mont, more than fifty knights (including the guards of over ten Generals) charging together across the wilderness was a formidable sight.
Iron hooves trampled over grass and forest, like an unstoppable torrent, scaring every wild beast they encountered into fleeing helter-skelter for fear of blocking the path.
Those bears and tigers foolish enough to try to bar the way were instantly dispatched by the spears of the front row Generals with a single charge.
Even if so were lucky enough to dodge the first assault, the players following closely behind could chop them into pieces with a single slash.
A cavalry in the field was simply invincible; along the way, whether it was solitary beasts or bands of mountain bandits, they all beca experience points for the team, giving rise to a sense of ‘a thousand horses rolling across the plains.’
“Haha, aweso!” Dongfang Sheng exclaid excitedly.
Xiao Jie smiled wryly without saying a word—the feeling of galloping together was indeed exhilarating.
After passing through the desolate fields, scattering crows and wandering beasts, the outline of a village appeared ahead.
“We’ve arrived!
Stop!” Hidden Dragon Do Not Use commanded, and over fifty riders ca to a halt.
This halt made it easy to see the disparity among the players; those who stopped neatly in an instant were the dozen or so core mbers.
In contrast, the outer mbers were sowhat scattered, but they could still be considered obeying orders.
In front of them was a bandit stronghold remodeled from a village, with rudintary walls reinforced by palisades built of logs, and a gate made of timber that was firmly closed.
There were also four watchtowers around it, each guarded by mountain bandit archers.
And around the village, many mountain bandit Little Monsters road.
These mountain bandit Little Monsters were also most suitable for players to kill for Leveling, as long as they didn’t pull too many at once, they weren’t difficult to deal with.
The only trouble was that the mountain bandits would run to call their friends when injured or close to death, potentially attracting a large group if not careful.
After all, it’s a ga, and no matter how realistic it tries to be, there are still things that need to be compromised for the sake of gaplay, like the fact that even though monsters were within the line of sight, they seed to be completely oblivious to the players’ presence because they had not entered the Monster’s alert range.
Hidden Dragon Do Not Use said sternly, “Listen up, everyone.
Whether you’re a core mber or an outer circle mber, you can be loose during normal tis, but once in battle, you must strictly obey the commands.
If anybody’s carelessness leads to casualties, the person responsible must bear the consequences.
Understood?”
“Understood, guild leader!”
“Don’t worry, guild leader.”
“Give the order, Long.”
Everyone was clearly aware of the seriousness of the matter.
After all, screwing up could lead to real deaths.
There was no room for negligence.
“Very good, now listen to my orders.
First, we’ll clear the Little Monsters outside together.
Then, according to the groups, we’ll carry out different tasks.
We will be divided into four groups for this battle.
The ranged group, led by Little White Dragon, will take out the mountain bandit archers on the watchtowers first and then support the lee group’s combat.
Dida La, I won’t assign you to a group.
You’re in charge of using spells to blast open the gates.
The cavalry group, which I will personally lead, will make the first rush after the gates are blasted open.
The lee group, Salted Fish, you’re in charge.
After we charge, you charge in next.
You need to fully utilize the advantage of the spearhead to open a gap at the front.
The support group, led by Hidden Moon Following Wind, will backfill wherever needed.
Once the gate is opened, the lee group should follow Salted Fish and push inside, try to widen the battle line as much as possible, forming a local nurical advantage to fight with greater numbers.
Everyone should try to move in teams, don’t be solitary, don’t overreach.
Rember, we are here to level up, not to court death.
The ranged group, move in after the lee group.
If you encounter an Elite Monster or a Boss Monster, the lee group should not take risks.
Lure it to the ranged group, which is responsible for focusing fire to take it down.
If that still doesn’t work, our cavalry group will handle it.
The support group, your task is to backfill, filling in wherever is needed.
Feng, since this is your first ti participating in an activity, I won’t assign you a specific task.
Did everybody get that?”
Xiao Jie listened to Hidden Dragon Do Not Use’s tactical arrangents and nodded to himself—not bad at all, the plan was very detailed.
He had really feared that this branch guild would just be a ragtag group rushing in blindly, F2A.
Or the kind of strategy where ‘the Tank pulls, the Healer heals, and the DPS hit hard,’ which, although slightly better than F2A, wasn’t much different.
Now with such proper organization and clear division of labor, this was truly a group fit for significant undertakings.
If even a small branch could do all this, then the strength of the main guild was indeed sothing to look forward to.
