143: Chapter 21 Life as Frail as Grass 143: Chapter 21 Life as Frail as Grass Xiao Jie experienced the clash between high-level players for the first ti in this ga.

The pursuer was a hero, Level 30, known as Xia Yi the Unrivaled.

The one being pursued was an assassin, Level 29, nad Mandingo.

Xia Yi the Unrivaled had a brown na (players who initiate attacks on white or yellow nas temporarily turn brown, killing a brown na doesn’t count as murder, but brown nas also don’t drop their equipnt upon death, and their na color reverts back to normal after leaving combat).

This Mandingo was a yellow na.

Clang!

Sword and saber t, and the two figures instantly separated.

“Xia Yi the Unrivaled, I have no quarrel with you, why must you insistently pursue ?”

“Heh, no quarrel?

What about those you’ve killed?

Did they have any quarrel with you?

Why did you kill them?”

“I killed people days ago, and I’m already a yellow na now, you’ll turn red if you kill !

Aren’t you afraid?”

“Hahaha, so what!”

Having said that, he executed another move, Spring Breeze Dance Willow, his treasure sword flurrying through the air, creating multiple arcs of Sword Qi.

Mandingo deflected the blows with a ringing series of clashes, managing to block them all.

Before Xia Yi the Unrivaled could make another move, Mandingo suddenly leaped up, employing his Qinggong—Wind Stepping!

Sword Energy Slash!

Swoosh, a streak of Sword Qi shot forth, slicing Mandingo out of the air and decreasing his health bar by one fifth.

“It’s useless, I’ve co fully prepared to kill you, today you’re not going anywhere.”

Mandingo wouldn’t have it his way and threw a Smoke Bomb!

Bang, a cloud of black smoke instantly obscured the area, allowing Mandingo to hide within it and drink a blood bottle.

But Xia Yi the Unrivaled wasn’t worried; he just casually strolled around the edge of the smoke, exuding an air of confidence.

Xiao Jie watched in astonishnt.

Was Xia Yi the Unrivaled killing just to punish the wicked?

This was indeed a novelty.

Righteous intervention was sothing that did exist in gas, but it usually occurred in ordinary gas.

Even in those gas, such individuals were extrely rare; most players were self-serving, haggling over equipnt and gold coins, and were just brick-moving, rib-grilling gars.

To go so far as to PK and kill in the city for justice, even at the risk of gaining a red na?

This was a bit unexpected.

The so-called realm of the chivalrous, perhaps, was this.

At least it was sothing he could not bring himself to do.

Xiao Jie stepped back, to avoid getting caught in their fight.

Normally, he wouldn’t like to mix in such commotions; a wise man does not stand under a shaky wall.

However, he couldn’t help but want to see the outco this ti.

If Xia Yi the Unrivaled really did kill soone and got a red na, wouldn’t he get mobbed by other players?

After all, killing red na players was not illegal, and it could result in big drops—the guy was over Level 30, with equipnt that would be worth a fortune.

Just picking up one piece would be a windfall.

If there really was an equipnt drop, should he join in?

“You’re forcing my hand,” Mandingo suddenly roared, appearing to be ready to use his Big Move.

Xiao Jie silently cursed—damn, this fool.

Announcing his Big Move beforehand, was he afraid his opponent wouldn’t notice?

He was probably just psyching himself up, or maybe he had been watching too many cartoons.

Secret Technique—Seven Kills Absolute Shadow!

The mont the smoke cleared, Mandingo burst into action, his figure splitting into seven shadows and dispersing in all directions, encircling Xia Yi the Unrivaled from every angle and launching simultaneous attacks.

A voice from behind comnted, “What a move, Seven Kills Absolute Shadow, the inner secret of the Seven Killings Blade Technique.

They say that to grasp this secret technique, one must kill seven players to stack the slaughter value.

This Mandingo is ruthless!”

But Xia Yi the Unrivaled was unflustered, his long sword planted in front of him, assuming an enigmatic stance.

Secret Technique—Wanxiang Wuji!

“My God, it’s the legendary Wanxiang Wuji, rumored to be the sword technique that no sword can defend against!

It requires Level 30 comprehension to be understood from the Limitless Sword Skill, an ultra-strong secret technique!”

Xiao Jie fought the urge to look back at the comntator, watching the duel intently.

The next second, the seven black figures all charged at Xia Yi the Unrivaled, the seven avatars and seven sabers slashing toward him from all sides.

This move was truly ferocious; although all seven shadows were illusions, the damage from those seven slashes was very real.

Yet, all seven slashes hit nothing but air, as if Xia Yi the Unrivaled flickered like fras in a filmstrip, or like the bullet ti in The Matrix, dodging each blow as it ca at him and shifting into another position instantaneously.

When the seventh slash was dealt, Xia Yi the Unrivaled had returned to his original stance, and then he suddenly moved, thrusting his sword in what seed to be a simple and ordinary attack, yet it was unavoidable and inescapable.

A harsh streak of Sword Qi slashed out in an instant, ignoring six of the black shadows, piercing through the one directly in front, who froze in place as his health bar plumted to empty.

Mandingo stood in disbelief, “This can’t be…”

It was the last thing he said; the next second, the surrounding six avatars vanished as if they were never there, and Mandingo collapsed onto the ground—dead.

Damn, he really just killed soone in the street!

As Xia Yi the Unrivaled’s na turned red in an instant, Xiao Jie felt an inexplicable shock.

He looked around, but saw no one attacking.

The surrounding players simply exclaid in shock.

“Damn, he’s a red na now!”

“Does that an if we kill him we can get a full drop of his equipnt?”

“Let’s go together, there’s no need to talk about honor with such a villain.”

“Right, let’s all blow him up together!”

“An Qingzi give the signal, I’ll count to three, and we all attack together!”

“Kill him!”

However, while many yelled, none actually made a move.

No one was a fool—the other guy was a big Level 30 account, and whoever went first was probably going to be the first to die.
