Capítulo 1363: Chapter 25: Remnant Wine Reflects Forr Shadows (Part 3)
Another fairy presented a jade plate, containing a full plate of flat peaches.
“These flat peaches are ripe now, but unfortunate havoc by the ‘Demon Ape’ left almost no intact peach trees in the orchard, and very few ripe flat peaches remain. These few were found by chance, their quality still good. Let the Saint taste them fresh, to slightly nd the regret.”
Xiao Jie carefully observed through the cloud’s perspective, his heart trembling imnsely—this plate of flat peaches, along with the half cup of remaining [Yaochi Jade Dew] on the table, wasn’t it exactly the plate of peaches and half cup of wine he saw earlier on the stone table in the pavilion?!
Unexpectedly, they were left by Tongtian Saint, yet for so reason were not cleared away, remaining until the mont he arrived.
The Saint did not rush to eat the peaches, instead leaning slightly forward, looking at the Queen Mother, directly asking: “The Queen Mother specifically invited , it must be for more than just drinking wine and eating peaches, right? What important matter is there, feel free to speak, why bother with these mundane social exchanges?”
The Queen Mother heard this, slightly retracting her smile, revealing a solemn expression.
She sighed gently, “The Saint has keen perception. Recently, many strange events in heaven and earth have made uneasy. Yu Xu Palace suddenly closed its doors, refusing all visitors. Kongdong Mansion’s immortal traces have shrouded, with no news returning for a long ti. Purple Cloud Palace’s Dao rhythm is obscure, Eight Sceneries Palace’s mysterious light is not to be seen, Wa Huang Palace’s clouds and mist are silent, Daluo Heaven has even severed its Sanskrit chants… These Saints’ Dao venues seem to have agreed, either sealed, silent, or hidden within chaos, no longer showing the past communication with heaven and earth, the universe-wide transmission of Dao aura.”
She paused, her tone more worried: “Only Biyou Palace where the Saint resides still senses the outside world’s interaction. Such sudden changes are truly perplexing and uncertain… I ask the Saint for enlightennt?”
Tongtian Saint listened and couldn’t help but shake his head with a wry smile: “The Queen Mother’s observation is indeed sharp and sensitive. Yes, we ‘old immortals’ indeed encountered so… ‘events’. You could say a catastrophe has arrived, it’s not impossible. If we cannot overco this catastrophe, there is a risk of destruction.”
“What?!” The Queen Mother’s face showed shock, almost losing her voice, “The Saint’s mana is boundless, transcends the physical world, and shares life with heaven and earth, decays with the great Dao, yet… yet is also at risk of destruction?”
“Hahahahaha!” Tongtian Saint laughed, “Where there’s life, there’s death, where there’s prosperity, there’s decline, this is the ultimate principle of heaven and earth. Even this universe, has the cycle of life and death, survival and destruction. Didn’t the ‘Taiyi’, who created heaven and earth, not also transform into all things and return to the void? Moreover, what of us Saints who depend on the great Dao, comprehend the laws?”
The Queen Mother’s expression was miserable, the Saint’s words to her ears were no less than declaring the arrival of a “world end”. Even Saints could fall, then what of the Heavenly Court, the multitude of immortals, and all living beings in the three realms?
“I wonder… how does the Saint plan to overco this catastrophe? Is there anything the Heavenly Court can do to help within its capabilities?” The Queen Mother asked earnestly.
Tongtian Saint shook his head: “The Queen Mother’s kindness and sense of responsibility are appreciated, and I’m also grateful for the few old fellows. However, this kind of thing ultimately has to be faced and decided by ourselves. My travels now aim to persuade them, perhaps… there’s still a glimr of hope. But if they stubbornly refuse and can’t think openly, then I can’t do anything.”
“Is there really no redy?” The Queen Mother remained unwilling.
“A redy…” Upon hearing this, Tongtian Saint actually closed his eyes, his fingers unconsciously tapping the stone table’s surface gently, seemingly lost in deep contemplation, or like communicating so mysterious dialogue with the “Heavenly Dao”.
Inside and outside the pavilion, an absolute silence descended. The Queen Mother held her breath in concentration, the accompanying fairies and immortal children dared not make a sound, for fear of disturbing the Saint’s “Heaven and Man Communication”.
Ti seed stretched, remaining quiet for a cup of tea’s duration.
During this silence, Xiao Jie, observing through the cloud’s perspective, noticed the cloud’s gaze being unconsciously drawn to the stone table.
It saw a peach at the very bottom of the pile in the jade plate, move extrely subtly and imperceptibly!
Then ca a second movent, a third, eventually rolling from the peach pile onto the table.
Since everyone was focused on the Saint, no one noticed for a mont.
Seeming to realize no one noticed, the peach started to inch slowly toward the edge of the plate, moving extrely slowly toward the edge of the plate! Each move was subtle, but the direction was clear—it intended to “escape”!
Xiao Jie could feel the cloud’s anxiety, yet dared not make any movent, for fear of disturbing the Saint’s contemplation.
As the restless peach was about to roll to the edge of the stone table, a clean and slender hand that seed to have been waiting for a long ti suddenly stretched out, deftly scooping it up and holding it in the palm.
Tongtian Saint had unknowingly opened his eyes, looking at the peach in his hand, with a faint playful smile on his face.
“A redy… perhaps, lies within this ‘peach’.” he said leisurely.
“Ah?!” At these words, not only the Queen Mother was astonished, but even the listening fairies and immortal children couldn’t help but show disbelief and surprise. A peach? A redy for the Saint’s catastrophe?
Tongtian Saint ignored everyone’s astonishnt, simply smiling at the motionless flat peach in his palm: “You’re quite clever little fellow, hiding very deeply. According to you stealing the Immortal Peach Orchard’s essential energy and spiritual wisdom, yet concealing it unreported, you should be refined into dicine, but… It seems you have this sliver of providence, fine, I shall give you a chance to ‘redeem yourself through good deeds’.”
