"Brother Sui Feng, where are you planning to stroll?" asked the Heavenly Venerate while steering the flying boat.

Xiao Jie stood at the stern, enjoying the scenery of the Immortal City around him, and casually replied, "I’m at your service, you lead the way. After all, I’m not very familiar with this Embers City."

"Haha, then I’ll take charge! Let’s head to the comrcial district for a walk!"

The flying boat skimd over the majestic buildings of Embers City, heading straight for the comrcial district.

In the sky, countless immortals traveled back and forth—so rode swords, their robes fluttering, so rode clouds and mist, exuding an ethereal spirit.

Others transford into immortal cranes and spirit birds, soaring gracefully. Various streams of light intertwined in the sky. This leaf-like flying boat was among them.

The layout of Embers City is quite unique. Since it’s inhabited by high-flying immortals, the entire city doesn’t resemble a flat mortal city, but rather forms a multi-layered structure intertwined in three dinsions.

The lowest level is the basic function area—warehouses, workshops, plantations; the middle level is the residential area, with pavilions and towers built upon the mountains, layer upon layer; the upper level is the residence and public areas of various Immortal Alliances, many buildings even float directly in the air, connected by rainbow bridges. The entire city is like a vertical immortal mountain, showcasing immortals’ techniques everywhere.

The comrcial district is located in the southeast corner of the city, occupying about one-fourth of the area.

The flying boat landed on the edge of the comrcial district. The two of them floated directly in the air, walking between the bustling streets.

Here, they took "three-dinsional" to the extre—hundreds of towers, floating islands, and cloud platforms were distributed in a staggered fashion, connected by radiant bridges. Shops are not limited to a ground floor, but are vertically distributed from ground to air: the lower level has ordinary stalls, the middle level has boutique shops, and the upper level consists of auction houses, trading centers, and other high-end venues. Countless immortals move freely between the levels, bustling and lively.

This place is several tis more popular than other areas. In other areas, you can see immortals coming and going, but mostly alone or in groups of three or five.

However, immortals here are in groups.

"Quite a crowd," Xiao Jie remarked pointedly.

"Naturally." The Heavenly Venerate smiled, "This Great Thousand Worlds has beco a wasteland of apocalypse, venturing out of the city is fraught with dangers. So, usually, most immortals co here to relax and enjoy leisurely tis. So immortals even stay here and don’t consider venturing out to battle or upgrade."

"What can you do? Immortals are afraid of death."

"Immortals afraid of death?" Xiao Jie was sowhat puzzled.

"Haha, naturally!" The Heavenly Venerate made an analogy, "It’s like ordinary people, if they have a few hundred, they might go to a casino and lose it all without a care, as it’s not much money anyway. But if soone with billions is trapped in a casino and can’t leave, naturally they wouldn’t dare to bet recklessly."

"Immortals are humans too. When they were mortals, they could risk their lives. But now that they are immortals, with eternal life and long views, who wouldn’t value their lives like gold? They’re reluctant to risk it."

"So most immortals only occasionally venture out for adventure; most of the ti they stay in the city. After all, it’s so vibrant here, with all sorts of entertainnt facilities available, enjoying themselves is no worse than on Earth, it’s very suitable for lying flat.

Even when adventuring out, they usually only tackle small monsters in the nearby safe zones, casually gathering so spirit stones and then retreating to avoid danger. Truly daring to explore and adventure far is ultimately a minority."

Xiao Jie thought to himself, at this rate, aren’t they even more cautious than ordinary players? He looked at the street sides, and indeed all sorts of entertainnt facilities were available.

Restaurants, taverns, karaoke halls, casinos...there’s even arcade halls, cinemas, and Taixu Illusion Realm experience centers!

Xiao Jie was sowhat surprised—how co Embers City has so many modern facilities? Combined with the surrounding primordial xianxia-style architecture, it was simply discordant.

He asked out of curiosity, and the Heavenly Venerate imdiately had an answer.

"It’s all thanks to the Creation Immortals," the Heavenly Venerate sighed.

"Creation Immortals? Immortals specializing in creation and transformation?"

"Exactly! This profession is highly sought after in Embers City, with various Immortal Alliances competing to win them over. It’s all thanks to the Creation Immortals for providing welfare to the Immortal Alliance mbers and improving their quality of life."

"But so have ventured out on their own, directly opening shops to sell goods and earn spirit stones. These shrewd traders earn spirit stones even more efficiently than us ordinary immortals who go out to battle monsters and collect treasures! Yet they face no risks, isn’t it infuriating?"

The Heavenly Venerate explained, looking very envious, clearly quite jealous.

"It seems that even amongst immortals, professions vary in rank," Xiao Jie cautiously comnted.

"Naturally, immortals are also divided into levels, like in gas, it’s also broken down into T1, T2, T3, T4."

Xiao Jie chuckled, "Oh, then where does your Wuchen Immortal rank among immortals?"

"Rank what?!" The Heavenly Venerate laughed self-deprecatingly, without any attempt to hide it, "It’s practically the sewer among sewers!"

Xiao Jie was quite surprised, "How could it be so wretched?" He expected that the Heavenly Venerate wasn’t doing that well, but still, he was the third vice president, yet this bad?

The Heavenly Venerate sighed, "To put it plainly, Wuchen Immortal is just a ’lying-flat immortal,’ a ’hang-up immortal.’ Doesn’t do anything but can upgrade—otherwise put, it doesn’t excel at anything. In Embers City, the least favored are us Wuchen Immortals, completely lacking any competitiveness. Only the Mountain and Sea Immortal Alliance... ahem, such a charitable and tolerant loving guild doesn’t mind us, but as for those great Immortal Alliances, we can’t even touch the door."
