Xiao Jie pushed open the shimring glass door in front of him and stepped into the restaurant.

The interior decoration of the restaurant was quite unique, presenting a blend of Chinese and Western styles.

On one side were redwood tables and chairs, ink-painted screens exuding an antique oriental charm; on the other side were warm-toned leather booths and minimalist chandeliers, full of modern Western leisure vibes.

The restaurant was empty, and so quiet that the low hum of the central air conditioning could be heard, almost devoid of other patrons. Only at the best spot by the window sat a lone figure.

The person had their back to the door, appearing sowhat blurred, as if shrouded in a thin mist. Yet, for so reason, Xiao Jie felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity, as if he had seen them sowhere before, or it was a natural attraction from a similar aura.

Xiao Jie walked over calmly. As he got closer, he saw the person holding a large lamb leg, roasted to a fragrant crisp, with juices about to drip, devouring it without any image. The table in front of them was nothing short of "spectacular"—

Golden, crispy fried chicken legs and fries, bubbling cola, stacked hamburgers, steaming instant noodles, appetizing sweet and sour ribs, tender and flavorful braised pork knuckle, aromatic Peking duck, thin-skinned, large-filled Cantonese shrimp dumplings...

A variety of delicacies from all over, with distinct styles, filled the table like a chaotic yet tempting feast for gluttons.

When Xiao Jie reached the table, the person didn’t even look up, seemingly fully imrsed in the world of food, casually gesturing for him to sit while chewing and swallowing, with bulging cheeks.

Watching the other’s nearly wolfing down manner, yet with a pure enjoynt, Xiao Jie inexplicably found it sowhat amusing and comical. He sat down as instructed across from the person, not rushing to start a conversation, rely observing silently like examining an interesting specin. The person paid no heed and continued to devour the food on the table like a Wind Roll Cloud.

The person’s stomach seed like a bottomless pit, or the entrance to so kind of space Equipnt. After over ten minutes, with the empty plates and wrappers piled into a small mountain, he finally stopped, grabbed a chilled bottle of cola, and drank it down with a gurgle, then let out a satisfyingly loud burp.

"Ah—refreshing!" He exhaled long, as if having accomplished a great feat.

Having finished, he looked up for the first ti, wiping his mouth with the oily back of his hand, and gazed at Xiao Jie with a slightly roguish yet all-knowing smile.

"Heavenly Venerate?" Xiao Jie asked calmly. Though it was phrased as a question, there was a seventy or eighty percent certainty in his tone.

"Ha, Daoist, you indeed have a keen eye." The other didn’t deny it, admitting with a grin.

Xiao Jie said lightly, "It’s not about keen sight. The only one who can pull into such a realistic Dream World without my awareness and talk to here, must be one who has mastered the high-level use of Divine Sense. Among the players, the only one capable of that is an Immortal. Apart from you, the mysterious ’Heavenly Venerate,’ who else could it be?"

Indeed, Xiao Jie was very clear that the restaurant before him, the seemingly real street scene outside the window, and even the aroma perating the air, were clearly an extrely realistic yet ultimately illusory dream. He looked out the window at the street of an unfamiliar city, with hurried pedestrians and continuous traffic. The scene seed ordinary, yet always carried a touch of deliberate imitation within unfamiliarity, as if pieced together from fragnts of impressions from countless real cities.

All of this was a Dream World constructed by the person before him with powerful Divine Thought.

The Heavenly Venerate’s face flashed a hint of surprise, "You were able to imdiately realize you were in a dream? Could it be... you’ve successfully advanced to the True Immortal Realm?"

"That’s right," Xiao Jie replied frankly. He understood why the other would ask. If he were still in the Scattered Immortal Realm, his Primordial Spirit and Perception might not have fully transford and could be fooled by this realistic dream, making it difficult to imdiately distinguish between reality and illusion. But since advancing to True Immortal, having initially grasped a bit of the Power of Laws’ use, his perspective on all things in the world had undergone a qualitative leap.

This Dream World before him, though detailed, had fundantal differences in the underlying "rules" compared to the real world. To his Perception, it was like ink dots on white paper, its illusory nature easily seen through.

"So tell , why go to such lengths to find ?" Xiao Jie asked directly.

The Heavenly Venerate sighed, a wry smile appearing on his face, matching his slightly roguish expression, rendering it so sort of comical, "Sigh, why else? It’s just that a few of my inept subordinates, acting recklessly, offended you, Daoist.

As their boss, I can’t just stand by and watch as they get taken out by you, right? I have to co out and cover for them. Considering they were, after all, running errands and doing errands for , I ask that you, Daoist, show so leniency and forgive them. Let’s just call it off, okay? I assure you they will never trouble you and your friends again."

Hearing this, Xiao Jie smiled faintly, "Of course. Actually, I never planned to really kill them. The reason I issued those harsh words and gave a three-day deadline was just to force you to show up."
