In the following month and a half, smoke rose from battlefields across the entire ga world, as all player guilds began expanding their powers. However, without exception, everyone's attention seed to be fixed on those NPC cities. Since nearly every big and small guild had joined the alliance organized by Xiao Buli, except for the NPCs, no one seed puzzled by the developnts.
With a tacit understanding, everyone took turns attacking these NPC cities. Xiao Buli made use of the GM staff's data to categorize the cities and create detailed profile reports, enabling other guilds to choose cities to attack based on their own strengths. Due to this thodical matching of strength to city, the conquests proceeded exceptionally smoothly, with the player guilds proving invincible.
Of course, there would occasionally be one or two tough nuts to crack, but it was not a big deal. Several guilds would band together to launch a siege. It wouldn't take long before they could prevail. Additionally, these NPC nations had their own internal conflicts, rarely helping each other. So, over a month, nearly all NPC nations were wiped out.
For those player guilds, even if things didn't go well in the end, their looting during this period was enough to make them quite happy for a while.
The Ancestral Dragon was not idle during this ti either. Whether they caught wind of sothing or it was simply a coincidence, they suddenly accelerated the expansion of their territory. They launched a comprehensive attack in all directions from their location, primarily invading player cities, which led to several conflicts with the Guild Alliance. However, the mbers of the Guild Alliance seemingly did not wish to clash head-on with the Ancestral Dragon. When fewer in number, they would hold their ground, but as soon as the Ancestral Dragon sent reinforcents, the Guild Alliance would imdiately retreat, ceding territory. Thus, for a ti, the Ancestral Dragon's domain expanded significantly, pushing Guild Alliance mbers towards a corner. So in the guilds raised questions, but undoubtedly, the NPC cities they occupied were enough to offset the pain of their cities falling.
In the ongoing back-and-forth of territorial tug-of-war, the ga continent gradually split into two clear factions. Two months later, all human cities on the continent were under the control of either the Ancestral Dragon or the Guild Alliance.
Although the Ancestral Dragon controlled most of the territory, the Guild Alliance, due to the repetitive give-and-take, now found their lands united against the Ancestral Dragon in a standoff. Perhaps fearing that continuing in this manner would result in too uneven a balance of power on the continent, the Ancestral Dragon had quietened down.
However, for the Alliance, now that it had co to this point, the ultimate battle had to be scheduled. The only enemy each side had left was the other. To expand further, there was no other choice. And Xiao Buli's original intention was not really to capture one city at a ti; their true opponent now was only the great Ancestral Dragon.
The eting was quickly organized once again, still in the sa conference room in Zhongzhou City. The leaders of the Guild Alliance gathered again.
And this ti, the conference room clearly had more of the air of a strategic command center. A huge conference table had been added, with maps of the continent hanging on the wall. The attendees took their seats according to their guilds' strengths, with Xiao Buli, as the initiator of this campaign, of course standing in the foremost position.
"We have all worked hard during this period. After such a long effort, the ti for the final battle has now co. The survival of human kind depends on us, so in this battle, we can only win, we cannot lose," said Xiao Buli as he stood up and walked to the map. "To defeat the Ancestral Dragon, we don't need to conquer one city at a ti. To achieve a swift victory, there's a more cunning strategy, which is to mobilize all forces and strike at its vitals."
"But even though the Ancestral Dragon's territory is vast, this is not a real nation. They don't need to truly rule, nor do they have a capital city. And I believe everyone has seen the Ancestral Dragon's strength during this period. Despite our efforts, our territory is still about half of theirs, and a significant portion of that is forested regions. Find their weak point? I'm all ears. Where exactly is it?" asked a small guild's chairman, unable to hold back. Although they had to give a thumbs-up to the Qingyang Empire's intelligence system during this ti, understanding the Ancestral Dragon was not as simple as knowing the details of the NPC cities.
"Yes, you're right. Due to the Ancestral Dragon's blind expansion, they do appear to be much stronger than us at the mont. But don't forget, our ultimate goal is the unification of the continent, not the conquest of territory. So we only need to focus here," said Xiao Buli, pointing to a certain area on the map. "The Ancestral Dragon's real weakness is right here."
Looking at the area Xia Buli pointed out on the map, the earlier chairman replied sardonically, "Nine Dragons City? You're saying we just need to take Nine Dragons City?," a big, mocking expression on his face, with several small guild chairn imdiately displaying looks of agreent.
Xiao Buli, hearing his lack of enthusiasm, did not seem surprised, but instead, a slight smile appeared on his face. "Not Nine Dragons City, but the plain next to it. According to our intelligence, that seems to be where the Ancestral Dragon's Teleportation Portal is located."
