In Inner Mongolia, the grassland wolfs once caused havoc for a ti. After the establishnt of New China, in order to stabilize minority ethnic groups and develop the economy, the governnt had launched a large-scale wolf-hunting operation. However, it seed quite difficult to truly eradicate the wolfs, which possessed a tenacious vitality. The grasslands had only beco relatively safer compared to before, but compared with the massive numbers from the past, grassland wolfs were now a rare sight. Yet to their surprise, two people encountered them today.

The wolf pack didn't seem to be in a hurry to charge; they would stop from ti to ti, perk up their ears to listen to their surroundings, then take short steps forward for a bit. In the beginning, the two humans only saw a few, but gradually the full force of the pack beca visible. It turned out there were dozens of wild wolfs, and their formation slowly dispersed as if they were leisurely strolling, forming a surrounding movent from all sides. This phenonon made Qin Shimoon instantly tense up. She gripped the gun in her hand, containing only twelve bullets. Even if each bullet took down one wolf, it wouldn't be enough, and the remaining wolfs would swarm her before she could reload, tearing her to shreds. Besides, with her shooting skills and the speed of the wolfs, coupled with the relatively weaker power of a handgun, it would be decent to take down a wolf with three or four shots. It seed she could only rely on him now. With this thought, she turned her gaze towards the man beside her, Xiao Buli, who looked quite relaxed.

As the pack closed in, he slowly drew his treasured sword, scanning the wolves. A particularly large black wolf caught his attention, its fur gleaming, clearly the leader of the pack. At the mont, the black wolf's eyes were fixedly staring at his every move, weighing their respective strengths in its mind. It was Xiao Buli's first opportunity to fight with wild beasts in reality, and he felt an undeniable excitent. He looked back at Qin Shimoon, who was still tensely holding her handgun. Xiao Buli was concerned that he wouldn't be able to look after her once the fight began, so he glanced at the nearby fire pit and had a plan.

Xiao Buli, while still watching the wolves, added a few sticks of wood to the fire pit to maintain it. He also separated so of the already burning sticks to create a smaller fire pit, and Qin Shimoon stood between the two fires.

Wolves fear fire, so this could temporarily ensure that Qin Shimoon was not attacked by the pack. Additionally, Qin Shimoon had a handgun, and should anything dangerous occur, she would be able to protect herself for the ti being, allowing him enough ti to return and rescue her if needed.

After doing all this, Xiao Buli stared at the encroaching wolves that were gradually tightening their circle and his heart started beating to the drum of battle.

"Stay here, I'll take care of them," he said, and before he finished, Xiao Buli had already charged toward the Wolf King.

"Damn it, are you crazy?" Qin Shimoon almost cursed out loud after hearing Xiao Buli's words. No matter how powerful you are, it's difficult to fight against nurous foes, dozens of wolves. "There's no way you can kill all of them."

"Who says I can't kill them all, who says I must battle with them," Xiao Buli said, and, acting more quickly than speaking, started the Skimming Shadow Steps. In a few strides, he reached the center of the pack, exactly where the black wolf was located. His sudden disappearance clearly surprised the wolf pack, who were patiently preparing to surround him but had yet to react.

The Wolf King was indeed startled; it could clearly sll the approaching scent. With its hind legs tensed, it leaped forward on pure instinct.

"Palm Thunder!" Suddenly, a brilliant bolt of lightning burst from thin air. Xiao Buli's hands, shimring with electricity, struck the black wolf. After a loud boom, the wolf yelped, convulsed, and fell to the ground. Xiao Buli had purposely reduced his power, otherwise, that strike could probably have killed it on the spot.

Even so, the black wolf was badly shaken up. Seeing their leader injured, the surrounding wolves rushed forward bravely, not caring about the consequences. Xiao Buli bent down and pressed his hand to the sword — Wind Rolls The Scattered Clouds. Centered on him, a storm of blades seed to form around him. In an instant, blood and flesh flew, and more than half of the seven or eight rushing wolfs were killed or wounded. The wolfs on the outside, witnessing this scene, realized it was beyond their endurance. They tucked their tails and scattered far away, but inside they were reluctant to surrender, stopping at a distance to spy on the situation, ready to launch another attack. Xiao Buli knew the characteristics of the pack; they wouldn't easily give up the prey they were about to catch. The wolfs had the determination to die and the tenacity not to give up until their goal was achieved. If his attack hadn't been so overpowering, they would still be coming at him one after the other. It was definitely unreliable to think that killing a few of them would scatter the pack.

However, Xiao Buli already had a plan in mind from the start of the attack, and for now, he ignored the scattered wolves and walked up to the black wolf.

Qin Shimoon didn't know his intentions, thinking that he might want to finish off the leader to utterly defeat the pack, but even so, she wasn't sure whether that would deter the wolves.

Xiao Buli crouched down and looked at the black wolf in front of him. The animal emitted heavy, ragged breaths, its body violently heaving with every breath. The spot hit by the Palm Thunder was singed black, emitting a burnt stench. Its black fur was sared with blood, clearly not far from death. To Xiao Buli's surprise, this black wolf wasn't entirely black; on its forehead was a patch of white shaped sowhat like a four-pointed star, quite intriguing.

"Void Sealing Technique!" Xiao Buli spoke as a light appeared in his hand, which he then pressed onto the black wolf's forehead. With the light flashing around the wolf, the defiant Wolf King clearly sensed Xiao Buli's intent and tried to struggle to its feet, unwilling to be subjugated even in death, but its severe injuries left it powerless to resist.

Xiao Buli's lips curled slightly. If this black wolf were in a ga, it would probably be rated only at level three or four for wildness, especially when it was so gravely injured. Using a level ten Void Sealing Technique, there was no chance of failure.

Finally, a gentle flash of white light erupted, and the black wolf was nowhere to be seen.

Rising to his feet, Xiao Buli, with sword in hand, leisurely walked back to Qin Shimoon's side and casually beckoned, "Co out, Hei!" A burst of white light flashed, and a majestic black wolf appeared before Qin Shimoon.

Qin Shimoon was startled and defensively pointed the barrel of her gun at the black wolf, but she quickly realized that the wolf must have been tad by Xiao Buli—a feat that she found herself jealously envious of, for what seed like the umpteenth ti, about these gars' seemingly spell-like superpowers.

Thanks to the healing effects that ca with the Void Sealing Technique, not only had the injuries on the Wolf King's body vanished, but he also seed even more vibrant than before. Turning to look at Xiao Buli, the human whom he once saw as an enemy and prey, he now saw a seemingly irresistible majesty, which made even the noble head of the Wolf King, who hadn't arrived at his position by birth but had fought countless battles and had never retreated against any opponent, bow.

"Now, have these remnants roll away a bit, so I won't have to bother killing them all," Xiao Buli said carelessly as he returned to the fire, pushing the branches deeper into the center to prevent the fire from dying out.

Qin Shimoon watched curiously as the Wolf King crouched on the ground, wondering if it could understand such a conversational command.

The Wolf King, upon hearing Xiao Buli's words, humbly lowered his head as though responding, then got up and trotted a few steps outside before letting out a long, lancholic howl, which sounded almost like a final farewell to kin.

The already frightened pack of wolves, hearing the noise, all looked up, perking their ears and hesitating for a mont before they started to slowly scatter away, eventually all disappearing into the vast night. The Wolf King, watching his brothers fade into the distance, reluctantly dragged his feet back to Xiao Buli's side and resud his crouching posture.

"OK, finally dealt with. That was quite thrilling, wasn't it? Now we can get so proper sleep," Xiao Buli said, watching the wolves depart and seeing Hei return to his side with a drooping head, then laughed as he spoke to Qin Shimoon, whose gaze remained sowhat wary of the Wolf King, her gun not as tense as before but still not lowered.

"Hey, don't be so tense. Haven't you seen animals before? If you're really that scared, just imagine it's a husky," he teased.

Qin Shimoon, hearing Xiao Buli's jest, couldn't help but snort, "You've gotten better at humor, huh? A husky, that's a stretch."

But looking closely, there was indeed a resemblance to a husky—if one could ignore the wildness and dangerous aura emanating from the Wolf King.

Qin Shimoon finally relaxed and sat down beside Xiao Buli, while Hei, at Xiao Buli's command, lay down with evident sulkiness. If wolves had thoughts, it would probably be moping about how what was supposed to be a hunting trip had ended up with it as a captive. The phrase 'to set a trap and end up caught in it' perfectly exemplified this situation.

"Did you use a hunter's Taming Skills?" Qin Shimoon asked curiously. She was sowhat familiar with the ga, knowing hunters had the ability to ta wild beasts, but Xiao Buli's thods seed a bit different.

Xiao Buli just smiled, not answering, and gently stroked Hei's back. The ferocious beast simply lifted its eyelids to glance at him and lay back down, completely docile like a dostic dog.

"It's late; let's get so sleep. Tonight, I think we've got soone to keep watch," he said.
