After putting on two army coats, Xia Zuowei sat down in the living room with full confidence. He originally planned to put on more, but unfortunately, the stuff was too bulky and he couldn't fit into any more.

The two sat face to face for a while, and, bored, they started chatting.

"That Immortal Brother, where did you learn your spells from?"

Xiao Buli pointed to the computer. Xia Zuowei, in disbelief, asked, "You an from the ga?" Seeing Xiao Buli nod his head, he couldn't help but exclaim, "How is that possible?"

Xiao Buli thought to himself that this guy was about to die anyway, so it didn't matter much, "The uniqueness of this ga is that death can carry over to reality and the abilities from the ga can be used in real life too. Otherwise, why do you think we play it? I belong to the Mage Professions in the ga, so I learned spells."

Xia Zuowei had an epiphany, "I see, so the skills I learned before can also be used?"

Xiao Buli nodded. Xia Zuowei imdiately beca excited. He hesitated for a mont, thinking about the few skills in his mind, then suddenly put on a pitiful expression, "Big Brother, please be kind, could you give so money?"

Xiao Buli looked at his pitiful appearance and subconsciously reached for his pocket, then suddenly snapped out of it, "Eh, what's with ? Why do I suddenly want to give him money? This seems like a skill from the ga!"

He looked at Xia Zuowei in surprise. That feeling just now, it was almost like he had been ntally controlled. Of course, to say he had been controlled was a bit much, but there was definitely a sense of having his emotions guided. And that was just a level 1 Begging skill. If it were level 10, that would really be sothing! This skill could actually be quite useful."

Seeing that the skill really worked, Xia Zuowei was montarily overjoyed, but then his spirits fell. What use were skills to soone about to die?

As ti passed and four hours went by, the tension between the two grew. Xiao Buli held the talisman in his hand, ready to cast a spell at any mont, while Xia Zuowei held onto a pot lid and scouted around. With each passing second, ti moved on and after half an hour, the house was still very calm.

Xiao Buli stayed vigilant while Xia Zuowei beca a bit impatient, "When will this damn thing end, sigh. Looks like it's going to be a while, I'll go make dinner."

Xiao Buli looked at him puzzled, "It's only 1 o'clock now, what dinner are you talking about?"

One o'clock!? Xia Zuowei glanced at the clock, "Then why is it dark outside? Is it going to rain?"

Xiao Buli looked out the window, "The sun is shining brightly, not a hint of it being overcast."

He gave Xia Zuowei a look, who was also looking back at him. In that mont of eye contact, they both realized.

"Be careful, it's coming!"

Xiao Buli suddenly stood up, which also startled Xia Zuowei, who looked frantically around, murmuring "Where is it, where is it?"

The room grew even darker, as if the windows had been covered up. Xia Zuowei hurriedly turned on the light, but the darkness was like a tangible entity, swallowing the light, leaving only a dim cluster that too faded away.

Behind him, an enormous black shadow rose like a dark cloud. Xia Zuowei felt a chill creeping from the soles of his feet to his forehead. When he turned to look, he found the room engulfed in profound darkness. Suddenly, a whooshing sound ca from above, followed by a loud bang, as if sothing had smashed onto the ceiling.

He ducked in fright, but realized he hadn't been hit. Looking up, he didn't know when a semi-transparent shield had enshrouded him. It must be the Immortal Brother! A sigh of relief escaped his heart.

Xiao Buli was astonished to see the Ethereal Armor suddenly deford as if struck by an invisible stick. The surroundings were very bright and seed uncontaminated by any anomaly, yet Xia Zuowei flailed as if blind, crashing into the television cabinet.

"Be careful, it's coming again!" While Xiao Buli shouted, he violently raised his hand and hurled a bolt of lightning towards the emptiness in front of Xia Zuowei, shattering a 21-inch color TV into pieces, but hitting nothing else.

Xia Zuowei, no longer caring for the loss, heard another whoosh overhead. This ti the Ethereal Armor was knocked off. Panic struck his heart, and as he turned around, he vaguely heard a man's cry from the encroaching darkness—"Take this, my spear!"

Fumbling, he raised the lid of the pot in his hand but the expected collision never occurred. The invisible spear grazed past his ribs, searing pain tearing through him. The pot lid slipped from his grip, and he tumbled to the ground.

He scrambled back desperately, crying out, "Immortal Brother, save !"

Xiao Buli watched Xia Zuowei in shock. He had only seen Xia Zuowei lift the pot lid, then suddenly fling it down and fall to the ground, without any sign of an actual target. It was as if Xia Zuowei were performing a silent cody all by himself. If Xiao Buli hadn't known the truth, he might have found it funny, but now, a chilling sense of dread washed over him.

Ethereal Armor! Xiao Buli once again wrapped a protective spell around Xia Zuowei, and as the first spell flew, a second Talisman Paper landed in his hand. The spell seed effective, and if he could maintain it perfectly, perhaps he could buy so ti.

Just as he was contemplating his next move, he was overtaken by bone-chilling cold, as if targeted by so terrifying creature. He involuntarily stepped back. There was nothing in the air before him, but he could feel it there, or rather, everywhere: in front, to the left, to the right, behind, above, and even below.

Shadows enveloped him, unseen but palpably felt, like standing under the scorching sun in the desert with no place to hide.

Leave this place! The thought flashed through his mind. He couldn't stay any longer. Xiao Buli realized that attacking was futile and might even provoke whatever it was—if it possessed a will of its own. Although the creature wasn't targeting him, any further action might render escape impossible.

A feeling of helplessness rose within him. He took several more steps back, trying to escape the area shrouded by the invisible shadows.

Xia Zuowei continued to crawl blindly on the ground, sobbing as he clamored, "Don't leave , Immortal Brother, please don't abandon !" Xiao Buli shook his head and whispered to himself, audible only to his own ears, "I'm sorry, mate," his tone genuinely heartfelt. He retreated all the way to the door.

The mont he closed it behind him, he felt utterly drained, took a deep breath, and slumped against the door.

Monts later, a sudden scream echoed from inside the house, ear-piercing yet brief, quickly falling silent. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welco to vote and support it on . Your support is my greatest encouragent.)
