"Let's sell the Fire Elental Crystal Core for a bit of money, but how should we divide this Sacrificial Book of the Ancient Gods?"
Items capable of triggering quests have always been hot commodities. Generally, at the very least, you could snag so decent top-notch equipnt from completing such tasks.
If you're lucky, you might even get a Skill Book, and if your luck is even better, there's a chance it could trigger an advancent quest for so hidden profession, just like that 'Corpse Refiner's Experintal Notes' did before.
However, this 'Sacrificial Book of the Ancient Gods' is clearly a lot more impressive than the 'Corpse Refiner's Experintal Notes'. One is nad after a Corpse Refiner, while the other is nad after the Ancient God—the difference is more than glaring. Of course, if the quest item does indeed trigger a follow-up task for a hidden profession, the difficulty is bound to be extrely high.
After all, as common sense suggests, the greater the opportunity, the greater the danger, and there might even be life-threatening risks involved.
Everyone examined the item for quite a while and was a bit hesitant. Each person wanted to speak up but was reluctant to pay too high a price.
"How about we roll for it?" suggested Xiao Buli nonchalantly. He really didn't rate the item that highly, thinking at best it was simply a quest item for professions like God Descending Master. But he guessed it was likely inferior to the God Descending Master. After all, God Descending Masters can communicate directly with the Ancient Gods without any need for sacrifices.
Judging from the performance of those cultists earlier, this item is clearly a defective piece.
Upon hearing Xiao Buli's suggestion, Wu Tao quickly caught on and responded in his typical contrary manner, "Rolling is too random, I think we should bid Gold Coins," Wu Tao tily proposed.
Once he suggested that, everyone else agreed, feeling it was better to exchange the hot-potato for so Gold Coins, which would be more beneficial.
Seeing that nobody objected, Xiao Buli said, "Then let's bid with Gold Coins. We'll start low, at one Gold Coin. Does anyone want it?"
Yaoyao, "I'll bid one Gold Coin and fifty silver coins."
Bai Yunfei, "Two Gold Coins from ."
Xiao Buli thought to himself that the bids were embarrassingly low. "Three Gold Coins," he said, intending to drive the price up a bit. Of course, if no one else wanted it, getting it for three Gold Coins wouldn't be a loss, since its value was likely quite substantial.
"Five Gold Coins!" Wu Tao suddenly shouted. After he made his offer, no one else spoke. Three Gold Coins was already a considerable amount, especially for an item whose value was uncertain, not to ntion five.
Xiao Buli looked at Wu Tao with surprise. "What do you want this thing for? Planning to beco a cultist?" While he spoke, he handed the Ritual Book over to Wu Tao.
Wu Tao just chuckled, "This isn't for . I plan to sell it."
"Sell? To whom?"
Wu Tao said proudly, "To Du Yibo, of course. He's a Five Elents Warlock, and he plays with fire. This item will definitely be useful to him."
Xiao Buli realized what was going on and thought to himself, no wonder this guy was so keen—it turns out he was planning to make a quick buck.
But it was fine, getting Gold Coins was good enough. With five Gold Coins to be divided, one for each person, everyone was ready to leave. As they headed toward the dungeon's exit, Liu Zhonglin approached them, clasping his fists in thanks, "I'm grateful to you, Righteous Warriors, for punishing evil and upholding justice. I have another favor to ask.
Can you assist my Golden Dragon Legion by not divulging what happened here? If you agree to this, I will definitely report to my superiors and ensure you are generously rewarded. As for cleaning up this ss, I will handle it."
At his words, everyone ca to their senses and realized that today's incident was not a simple prison riot. Instead, cultists had infiltrated the prison and used the prisoners' corpses as sacrifices in a vain attempt to awaken the power of the Ancient God, resulting in this whole fiasco.
The prisoners were not the culprits but victims instead. This twist made the situation quite intriguing. They figured the reward couldn't be small.
Gao Baina suddenly cried out from the adjacent cell. "Please save , I'm willing to offer all of my wealth just to live, don't leave behind, no matter what."
His voice was extrely earnest, and he had to be; if Xiao Buli and the others left, this guy was 120% going to be silenced.
After a brief discussion, Liu Xing couldn't help but ask, "What do you plan to do with him?"
Liu Zhonglin spoke with an imposing tone, "This man has committed nurous evils and is more than deserving of death. To prevent him from spreading chaos with his words, I naturally plan to execute him right here." Xiao Buli thought to himself that this fellow was indeed ruthless.
Gao Baina continued to plead for rcy, "I may have sold so fake products, but that's not a cri deserving of death. I implore you, Righteous Warriors, save . It's actually those who claim to be just who have caused such a ss and are trying to hide the truth. They are the ones truly deserving of death.
Please don't be afraid of power and help escape, so I can reveal the truth to the people in the city."
Liu Zhonglin said sternly, "If the people in the city learn of this, it will only cause more chaos and trigger a larger disturbance, which is bad for everyone. In these troubled tis, such actions are unwise. It's best not to create unnecessary trouble."
Gao Baina argued forcefully, "The truth is the truth, and the citizens should be inford. How could this be wrong? If a city can't even tolerate the truth, then what's the point of its existence?"
System Prompt: You have triggered the quest 'Truth and Justice,' please choose the side you wish to help. Warning, your choice will affect the developnt of the quest.
A selection window suddenly appeared in front of the five people.
1. Help Liu Zhonglin.
2. Help Gao Baina.
The group exchanged glances of surprise, thinking it was unexpected to encounter such a situation. Being experienced players, they naturally did not rush to make a choice, but instead started discussing it.
Xiao Buli said, "Let's not choose hastily, everyone share your thoughts on who we should help?"
Liu Xing said, "Of course we should help that Gao Baina. Even though he's a dishonest rchant, his cri doesn't warrant death. And he's right, such matters should not be concealed; the citizens deserve to know."
Wu Tao's eyes flickered twice, "Don't speak too soon; what good is saving that dishonest rchant? It's just a few Gold Coins in return, and it might even provoke the hostility of the Golden Dragon Legion. I think it's better to help Liu Zhonglin."
Yaoyao shook her head, "I don't mind either way."
Xiao Buli finally turned to Bai Yunfei and asked, "Old Bai, what do you think we should choose?"
Bai Yunfei hesitated, then after giving Xiao Buli a glance, he smiled, "I'm indifferent about it, but I think you've already made the choice that will maximize our benefits, haven't you?"
