49: Chapter 36, Cut in Two!

49: Chapter 36, Cut in Two!

Shutting the door to beat the dog?

Upon hearing the conversation between Tang Fei and Phoenix, Chen Hu knew the situation was dire.

If this woman truly was a master of the Imperial Qi realm, then neither he nor the Grey Robes he brought with him stood a chance against her alone.

Otherwise, why would they close the doors?

Wasn’t it because they were afraid of letting them escape?

One of the Grey Robes fished a whistle out of his pocket, attempting to sound an alarm.

Snap!

A Silver Light Whip lashed out, severing half of the Grey Robe’s head.

Boom!

The head hit the ground, blood splattering everywhere.

The remaining half of the body stood for a long while before it thudded onto the ground.

The Grey Robes panicked, scattering in all directions.

So tried to flee the courtyard, only to be knocked back by Little Fatty’s hamr.

The expert showed their skill imdiately upon making a move.

Chen Hu didn’t even see clearly how Phoenix had attacked when a Grey Robe beside him had his head sliced off; such strength was simply inconceivable.

Moreover, the whip in her hand was clearly an energy weapon from New Star.

Weapons from Old Land weren’t capable of such sharpness.

Chen Hu watched Phoenix with a sinister gaze, knowing they had found the right person.

How good it would have been had they been mistaken…

Before they found her, they were desperate to track her down, but now that they had, was it his life that was to be lost?

I want to rise through the ranks and beco rich, but life is the precondition.

“We Fla Shrine have no grudges against you.

Why do you seek to kill our Black Robes?” Chen Hu demanded.

“What?

Trying to buy ti?” Tang Fei saw through his trick at a glance and mocked.

He knew that if Chen Hu and his n stayed in that courtyard for any length of ti, those outside waiting for results would grow suspicious, realizing sothing had gone wrong inside.

At that ti, wouldn’t the Fla Army surround and hunt them down on a large scale?

“Too bad I’m going to disappoint you.”

Phoenix knew she couldn’t delay any longer.

With a flick of her Phoenix Whip, she pounced towards Chen Hu.

Chen Hu raised his broadsword and let out a roar, ready to et the strike from Phoenix’s Lightning Whip head-on.

The blade humd, surrounded by a halo of green energy.

That green energy was Sword Energy.

Chen Hu had so talent in cultivating this skill, but not much.

Without the guidance of a fad master, without the aid of a Secret Book, relying solely on a basic sword technique passed down before the great disaster, and through daily repetitive slashing and hacking, he had managed to develop Sword Energy.

With the augntation of Sword Energy, his broadsword was no longer an ordinary sword.

This had been his pride all along, and with this ability, he had made quite a na for himself within the Fla Shrine.

Had Bian Zhenxin not died, had he continued to serve by his side for a few more years, once Bian Zhenxin rose in the ranks, he would have been able to take over the Black Robe leadership of Henshan Gathering Area.

What a pity!

Chen Hu prepared to et Phoenix’s Lightning Whip with his sword, knowing full well that he was no match for a master of the Imperial Qi realm in actual combat.

But, he possessed brutal strength.

As long as he could withstand a few more of her strikes, once the Fla Shrine’s experts arrived, he could escape death.

The Phoenix Whip cracked on the raised broadsword; upon contact, the blue energy on the blade instantly vanished.

Snap!

The broadsword broke in two, the front part falling to the ground.

As if cutting through tofu, the Phoenix Whip sliced through Chen Hu’s broadsword.

At the sa ti, it sliced through his body.

The Silver Light Whip slashed across him, leaving a massive gash across his chest.

He looked down incredulously at the wound.

He’d known there was a gap, but he hadn’t imagined it to be so vast.

One strike?

He had only managed one strike.

Boom!

His body also fell backward heavily onto the ground, eyes wide open, dead with a gaze full of disbelief.

Realizing sothing was amiss, but not expecting such a turn of events.

Seeing their leader whipped in half by a single strike, the remaining Grey Robes were horrified, trembling uncontrollably.

So of the more timid even fell on their backsides, unable to move.

“Save…”

Soone just opened their mouth to cry for help when Little Fatty silenced them with a hamr.

Most of them, in fact, could no longer make a sound, as if their throats were stuffed with cotton.

Tang Fei was not idle either, wielding the Dog Leg Knife with Sword Energy, making a circle among the crowd.

One knife per person, no rcy given.

Very soon, the courtyard was littered with corpses.

These Grey Robe mbers of the Fla Shrine were just ordinary people with slightly stronger bodies; they could bully the commoners well enough, but faced with a Cultivator like Tang Fei, they were nothing but lambs to the slaughter.

Little Fatty was still worried that so of them were not dead yet, carrying his big hamr around to check.

If he found soone who wasn’t completely dead or whose injuries weren’t serious enough, he would give them an extra smash with the hamr.

Everyone had a clear division of labor and cooperated tacitly.

In the blink of an eye, Chen Hu and the dozen or so Grey Robes he had brought were all cleaned up.

Once again, the courtyard regained its peace, the air filled with a thick scent of blood.

——

In the center of the village, Bian Feng sat atop a tall horse, unable to receive any ssage from Chen Hu.

He called out, “Where is Chen Hu?

Why hasn’t he brought the people here yet?”

Blood Hand approached and respectfully said, “My lord, shall I go to check?”

“Go ahead,” Bian Feng nodded and said, “See what’s going on.

They can’t even bring in a few villagers…

Is this how Chen Hu handles his tasks?”

After a pause, he spoke again, “Take more n with you.”

He was familiar with Chen Hu’s capability; otherwise, he would not have deployed him to the Henshan Gathering Area as an Assistant Officer to his son.

The long absence made him wonder if sothing unexpected had occurred.

“Yes, my lord,” Blood Hand replied eagerly.

He knew that if this matter ended well, he might gain Bian Feng’s favor.

Then their days in the Blood Hand Association would be much better; they could rob whover they wanted, kill whover they wished, and even if they grew larger, they wouldn’t have to worry about the Fla Shrine coming to eradicate them.

After all, they were sanctioned to rob.

Blood Hand motioned with his hand, and dozens of Blood Hand Association mbers followed him to search for Chen Hu.

Many had seen where Chen Hu went, so they didn’t need anyone to guide them and arrived at Tang Fei’s courtyard entrance.

“Is this the place?”

“This is it.”

Blood Hand was about to knock on the door when he abruptly halted.

He sniffed the air and caught a strong scent of blood.

“Not good,” Blood Hand was startled, realizing that Chen Hu and his n might have encountered danger.

He was about to shout a warning when a loud noise erupted.

The door suddenly flew outward with a whoosh, rushing towards them.

Blood Hand, agile and quick to react, sprang into the air with a push of his feet.

The other Blood Hand Association mbers were not so lucky, getting slamd squarely by the thick ironwood door.

Their ribcages shattered and bones broke as they lay on the ground, vomiting blood.

Tang Fei, leading the charge, turned his Dog Leg Knife into the scythe of the Death God.

Guided by his Qi, every slash opened soone’s throat.

Phoenix was not to be outdone, with a flick of his whip, a row of Blood Hand Association mbers were cleaved in two.

You should always believe in science; high-tech weapons indeed kill faster.

Little Fatty also swung his hamr in close pursuit, sending one flying with each strike….

It didn’t matter whether they were dead or not; they would surely fly.

The old man trailed behind the trio, ready to fend off any sneak attacks from powerful enemies.

Tang Fei and his companions took the initiative to attack, killing until n and horses fell, leaving the mbers of the Blood Hand Association and the Grey Robes of the Fla Shrine in disarray, continually retreating.

The commotion here finally disturbed Bian Feng and others in the middle of the village.

A swarm of the Fla Army and Cultivators converged towards the scene, determined to apprehend Tang Fei and his group.

Tang Fei, sword in hand, was ready to continue the slaughter, but the Grey Robes had already lost their courage, crying and screaming as they fled to the rear.

With clattering sounds…

The fully ard Fla Army rushed to the scene, forming ranks with their guns, and began a standoff with Tang Fei, Little Fatty, and the others.

On one side were Tang Fei, Phoenix, Little Fatty, and the old man hanging far behind, always looking like he was ready to flee at any mont, and on the other was a strong and well-ard formation of troops stretching as far as the eye could see.

This was a fight of staggering disparity in strength.
