[Donald’s Perspective]

Upon hearing this, my expression beca stern, and the aura around turned intimidating. "Scan again, and do not miss any corner! Direct the Vanguard in, shoot to kill if a signal fluctuation is detected, and do not report back to ."

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

Hearing the reply, I casually put down the communicator, took a couple of deep breaths, and then turned to look at Berton.

Berton also looked shocked and confused, clearly unable to understand why the enemy had suddenly vanished. Just half an hour ago, we had received definite news that this group of sea pirates’ vessels would definitely pass through this sea area!

"That’s impossible, Your Majesty! The information we received couldn’t have been wrong. The channel of this information is absolutely reliable," he exclaid.

"Is that so? Then how would you explain the current situation?" I asked calmly.

Berton stood up from his chair again, looking at with a worried expression. After a mont, he seed to have organized his thoughts and spoke, "If that’s the case, then it can only an one thing. We have a mole among us! He must have inford the enemy of our military plans in advance."

"Your analysis makes so sense. So, what should we do next?" I inquired further.

Berton looked at , his eyes filled with sorrow.

He spoke softly, "Do you suspect , Your Majesty? I could never be the mole. I have not responded to the ssages they have sent us. How can I prove my loyalty to you?"

I smiled upon hearing this, turned back to gaze at the navy ships advancing into the sea, and replied, "I said I am willing to believe you, but whether or not you are trustworthy is a question you can only answer yourself."

’Bang, Bang, Bang!’

The thunderous noise of the cannon fire erupted along with my calm voice. Berton froze in shock, startled by the source of the loud sounds.

"What’s going on? Why are they firing, weren’t you just saying there were no suspicious ships in this area? Your Highness!"

Upon hearing this, I remained silent, waving my hand at Christian to give a sign.

Berton naturally didn’t understand the tacit understanding between and my subordinate. I was telling Christian to turn on the giant screen television mounted on the cabin wall.

The live footage of the naval bombardnt was clearly transmitted back. I returned to my seat, pleasantly watching, "My soldiers only said there were no suspicious ships on the surface, but they didn’t say there weren’t any beneath the sea! They thought by subrging deeper than the range of the ship’s radar, they’d be safe, which is utterly ridiculous. The navy’s ships need updating, and so do these pirates’ ships!"

Berton, stunned by the images on the giant screen, froze completely. It took him a few seconds to accept the reality before he asked in a hoarse voice, "You just said ’my soldiers.’ What does that an? Isn’t the navy under the Lilo Sea regi? How could they not obey my orders and only follow yours?"

Berton’s rationality was nearly shattered, and he didn’t realize how presumptuous his words were.

I scoffed in response, "Between the Lycan king and a re head of the Marine Supervision Bureau, whose orders do you think soldiers should follow? Isn’t the Lilo Sea regi still under the Werewolf royal family? You must be frightened out of your wits, Berton, to speak so inappropriately!"

After hearing my words, Berton’s expression cracked, his facade no longer maintainable, and he suddenly burst out laughing as he charged at !

I quickly pulled out my gun and aid it at his head, taunting him, "Can’t keep up the act any longer? I haven’t even had enough fun, and you’re already ’chickening out’?"

"Donald, you are despicable!" Berton’s movents halted as he glared at and gritted his teeth.

I was taken aback, looking at him with cold eyes, "You’re wrong! This isn’t about being despicable, it’s about having a backup and taking precautions early. Otherwise, do you think being Lycan king is easy? If I was a bit less sharp, people like you would have left nothing of !"

"I was wondering why that cargo ship was stationary at Color-pennant Town until I gradually figured it out. You orchestrated a huge drama all by yourself! The purpose was to conceal your collusion with the pirates. I wonder, if Lisa and Brand knew about the cruel acts you committed, would they still acknowledge you as their father?"

Berton’s wrinkled face turned bright red, as if I had hit a nerve.

I didn’t really care about the turmoil within this old man’s heart. I sneered and continued, "To get close to Margaret and to accomplish the mission she gave you, you really would abandon anything! Trading your children for the luxuries of your later life, your ’deal’ is truly baffling. Don’t you think you’ve made a huge loss?"

"Shut up! Don’t talk anymore!"

"Oh! What? You can do these deeds, but fear others speaking of them? Does being openly criticized sting? Do you need to help you experience it again?"
