[Margaret’s Perspective]
Levi retorted sowhat oddly as he looked at Henry and frowned, then added, "If you don’t trust the dical Practitioner, I can go get her help. The healer in her hands is definitely better than ours."
Upon hearing this, Henry slowly shook his head and, with a grave voice, turned to Levi, saying, "No! Have you forgotten whose territory was the scene of Margaret’s incident? When we entered, the maid must have just provided them with food."
"What do you an by that? Do you suspect her? Why?" Levi’s confusion deepened as he looked at Henry as if he were so kind of monster.
Answering Levi was only silence; Henry did not offer any further explanation.
Seeing this, Levi let out a sowhat sarcastic laugh, then crossed his arms and said with a smile, "So now, besides yourself, do you trust no one else? Then why did you accept her invitation and co to this island? What is there on this broken island that could possibly attract you?"
Sotis Levi really was a bit crazy, but Henry seed to have gotten used to it. He didn’t take it as sarcasm and was silent, seemingly lost in thought.
"I really don’t get you two. So what do you say we should do now? If we keep being indifferent, Donald will definitely hit us where it hurts!"
On hearing the na Donald, Henry seed to snap back to reality. He looked up at Levi and said in a low voice, "Bring Brand to the hall, it’s ti to make use of him."
At these words, Levi looked at Henry for a long while before he sighed and nodded in agreent.
And all this secret conversation between the two of them was sothing I, in my comatose state, knew nothing about. By the ti I opened my eyes again, it was already midnight.
Although this room wasn’t as comfortable and warm as the basent, it still made let out a sigh of relief. I tried to sit up, supporting my body with my hands, but in the next mont, the needle on the back of my hand reminded of its existence!
"Ah!" I groaned in pain, instinctively glancing over, as blood had already begun to flow there.
I withdrew my gaze without much care and began to look around this new environnt. Brand wasn’t by my side, and I had no idea whether he was still in that basent.
My mind started to wander aimlessly, but in the next second, I realized a far more important problem!
I lifted the quilt to glance at my lower abdon and felt that, aside from a bit of fatigue and weakness, there was nothing else unusual. The severe pain that had afflicted in the basent felt like a bad dream!
’Beep beep beep!’
The life monitor on the bedside table suddenly started to sound. I was startled, my body tensing as I turned to look at it. Realizing that it was my sudden movent that had caused an abnormal contact and set off the alarm, I let out a sigh of relief, tore off the items clamped on my hand, and pulled out the bloody needle.
Barefooted, I stepped on the floor, cautiously moving towards the door of the room.
There was no sound outside the door. After thinking for a mont, I reached for the doorknob, just about to walk out, when suddenly, so footsteps approached the door. My heart skipped a beat, and I quickly let go of the handle and hid behind the door!
"Dr. Simo, why hasn’t this woman woken up yet? We have to stay here in the hospital till the small hours because of her, and I haven’t slept for 2 days! If it weren’t for her, I’d be lying in my own bed resting beautifully now!"
"I can watch over her by myself for the rest of the night. You go back to sleep with the others! Look at those dark circles under your eyes; they are almost covering your whole face!"
"Ah? Really? Well then... I’ll go back first. Be careful by yourself! Notify us imdiately if anything happens!"
"All right, off you go!"
The conversation outside the door ca to an abrupt halt. I heard the sound of the nurse turning and walking away, and the next mont, the doorknob was turned open directly!
I held my breath, attempting to perform the shift to summon Betty, but bizarrely it did not succeed. I had no ti to ponder why, as the mont the doctor ca into the room and turned to close the door, I stepped forward swiftly, my arm wrapping around the person’s neck, my fingers locking directly onto their throat!
"If you don’t want to die, stay quiet! I can crush your throat in the blink of an eye; you’d best not try to provoke !" I said coldly, my gaze fixed intently on the person in front of .
Taken aback by my sudden awakening, the dical Practitioner nad Simo was startled at first, then stiffly replied in a hoarse voice, "Perhaps you should put on so shoes first. You’re in the early stages of pregnancy, and the condition of the child is not very stable. You really shouldn’t get sick at this stage!"
At his words, a chill flashed in my eyes as I tightened my grip on Simo’s neck and asked sharply, "So Henry and the rest know my situation, is that it? If that’s the case, don’t bla !"
The situation I’m facing is the last thing I want to see. If Henry and Levi know about my pregnancy, then the predicant for and my baby becos even more dangerous, while Donald also becos more passive!
