[Margaret’s Perspective]

I found it strange that the person who ca in was not Mark, because when the gunshot first sounded outside, it was Lycan Mark who had rushed out to check on the situation.

David’s footsteps were erratic, his face marked with a solemn and urgent expression, and his clothes were even stained with blood and mud!

He looked towards Donald on the stage, swallowed before he finally spoke, reporting, "Your Majesty, the patrol team was attacked by the Rebels on their way back. Half of the Lycan have been sacrificed, and we only made it back desperately with the cover of Captain Christian!"

"The Rebels broke through the west gate of the Royal City five minutes ago, and a large group of rogue looters suddenly surged from the suburbs. They must be in league with the Rebels outside the city. Their aim is to coordinate inside and out with the Rebels today, to divert the attention and forces of the Royal City! I am incompetent, for I failed to protect the Royal City and Your Majesty’s safety, please punish !"

David said as he bowed his head, seemingly utterly disappointed in himself.

I initially wanted to ask David about Anthony’s situation, but seeing him like this, and considering the situation we were now facing, the words in my throat were completely choked off.

"Rogues appeared in the suburbs? When did this happen, and why didn’t Donald and I know anything about it?" I quickly regained my senses, caught the key information in David’s words, and asked in surprise.

At this point, David naturally dared not conceal anything and answered, "It was half an hour ago, I received a report from the Lycan who went ahead for disaster relief. Did they not report to you and His Majesty imdiately?"

David also realized sothing was wrong with this situation. He subconsciously looked at Henry next to Lillian, thought for a mont, and then said loudly, "Isn’t Prince Henry the main official in charge of the suburb’s disaster relief? Your Highness, how could you not know about this?"

The things happening today were getting stranger by the minute. Donald and I almost simultaneously turned our heads towards Henry.

"Do you know about this, Henry?" Donald said, suddenly grasping my wrist and slowly shielding behind him. His beautiful eyes were filled with scrutiny as he gazed at Henry across from him.

I looked up at Donald, suddenly feeling utterly helpless—a strange intuition told that what was about to happen would not be sothing Donald could easily accept!

"Ha! What do you an by that, Your Majesty? Are you suspecting ?" Henry retorted as if he’d heard so funny joke, then replied with a sneer.

Donald slowly narrowed his dangerous eyes, staring sharply, continued, "Should I not suspect you? Didn’t you tell just 20 minutes ago that everything was going smoothly with the werewolf pack’s disaster relief in the suburbs? What is this situation now, with rogues suddenly appearing? Do you really not know what happened there?"

Faced with Donald’s relentless questioning, a crack suddenly appeared on Henry’s previously calm and composed face. He maneuvered his wheelchair forward a few steps, slowly lifted his face to look at Donald, a strange mocking look erging in his eyes, "If I say I indeed do not know what this is all about, would you choose to believe , Donald?"

In response to Henry’s counter-question, Donald showed no reaction on his face, but the hand holding mine unconsciously tightened. My wrist ached from his grip, yet I had no intention of pulling away. At that mont, my mate seed to need a fulcrum for support.

An eerie silence fell over the scene. Neither Donald nor Henry spoke further. I glanced at Donald worriedly, then spoke out to Henry, asking, "Why?"

"Why what?" Henry asked with a laugh.

"Why help Lillian? What benefit is there for you in this? Aren’t you the prince of the entire Wolf royal family? Why would you stand with those rebels? Is Austin really more important to you than Donald?" Ignoring the bizarre smile on Henry’s face, I continued to inquire.

Seemingly surprised that I would ask such a question, the smile on Henry’s lips paused. He squinted at and after several seconds, raised his handso brows and replied with a smile, "You are much smarter and more perceptive than I imagined."

I sneered, frowning as I t Henry’s gaze, "Should I thank you for your ’complint’?"

Upon hearing this, Henry suddenly burst into laughter. He spread his hands, his expression extrely pleased, as if he found my reaction very amusing.

"Why didn’t I realize you were so interesting before, Margaret? Oh Donald, my dear brother, you really have found yourself a perfect mate!" Henry then turned to look at Donald standing in front of , his eyes brimming with deep and complex emotions, not as friendly as his words suggested.
