[Margaret’s Perspective]
My father had never truly understood , nor had he ever loved seriously, not even once. The things he was doing right now were extrely real and concrete evidence of this.
I hadn’t expected that the first "difficulty" of today’s wedding would actually co from my own kin, which was a terribly ironic turn of events.
"If both Elizabeth and I were in danger, you would choose to protect her directly, wouldn’t you? I really didn’t want to ask you this question directly, but now..."
I said, followed by a sowhat mocking laugh, then shifted my gaze away from Frantz and looked distantly towards Donald, who had been watching this direction the whole ti, "It seems I don’t need an answer at all. Elizabeth is my only younger sister, and even if it costs my life, I won’t let her co to any harm. You can rest assured about that."
Frantz seed to be stunned by the question I raised earlier, and only after a long while did he inexplicably furrow his brows—he seed unable to understand my disappointnt in him.
But at this mont I didn’t care about any of that. Amidst the romantic background music that was playing, I paid no attention to Frantz’s threats and warnings. Instead, I looked resolutely at Donald and began taking steps, drawing closer to him little by little!
The guests at the scene seed quite surprised by my actions, for in conventional societal weddings, it is the father’s role to be the last escort for his daughter, personally leading the bride to the groom.
I didn’t pay attention to the murmurs around and walked determinedly towards Donald.
"Margaret! Have you gone mad? What are you doing?"
"Margaret?"
The exclamation of Frantz and Nora rose behind , which I completely ignored, resolutely heading towards Donald, as if he were my ultimate, most certain choice.
Donald naturally didn’t miss the commotion and clamor from my direction. I watched as his handso features gradually furrowed into a frown, and then he took long strides to et !
It turns out that in the eyes of the one who loves you, he can take the initiative to walk towards you.
Donald ca closer and took hold of my hand, his eyes filled with concern, "What’s wrong? Did you argue with your father?"
I shook my head slightly while looking at him, my eyes misty, "It’s all unimportant, let’s go."
Donald glanced back at the two people behind , but quickly returned his gaze and grasped my hand tightly, as if to embed into his very bones, "Alright, I’ll take you away."
I felt at that mont that, aside from "I love you," this was the most touching declaration of love I had ever heard in my life. Donald always knew what I needed most.
Nobody knew just how much courage it had taken to overco this sudden incident. I had to admit that my parents had not loved as much as I had imagined!
The music continued, and as Donald and I walked over the carpet strewn with flowers, applause and cheers slowly rose around us. The journey wasn’t long, but I felt incredibly satisfied and fulfilled.
So this was what it felt like to walk side by side with Donald.
Licia and Prince Henry, as well as the various ministers of the Royal City were sitting at the very front of the left side of the entire hall. When Donald led up the steps at the center of the chapel, all eyes converged on us, including those of Licia and Henry.
The music faded, and what followed was the priest’s deep, solemn voice:
"Thanks to the gracious Moon goddess, in this holy and solemn mont, we are gathered here to witness the grand and romantic wedding of this couple."
"My most noble and incomparable Lycan King, do you take this woman before you—Margaret, to be your wife, to live together in the sacred bond of marriage, to love her, cherish her, comfort her, protect her, and to stay devoted to her for the rest of your life, through sickness and health, prosperity and adversity?"
As the priest chanted these matrimonial vows, his gaze was fixed on Donald. I was extrely nervous and excited, yet I inadvertently glanced at the priest, and it was this casual glimpse that helped divinely save Donald in the following seconds!
One mont the priest was devoutly reciting the matrimonial vows for Donald and , and the next, his eyes held a sudden change with a bone-chilling murderous intent!
"I do..."
Donald said this tenderly to , and at that sa mont, the priest quickly pulled a handgun from his wide sleeve and aid straight at Donald’s head! There was also , who with a loud shout, swiftly stepped forward and with an incredibly forceful karate chop knocked the priest’s gun-wielding wrist aside.
"Bang!"
The gunshot shattered all the romance and sanctity of the scene, signaling the end of the wedding ceremony.
"Ahhhh!"
"It’s an attack! Help!"
"Soone protect His Majesty and the Lycan Queen, we’re under attack!"
