Though Licia spoke with a hint of reluctance, she left no room for negotiation for Lillian.
As she stood up, she looked at Lillian, whose face was wet with tears, "If Austin were truly innocent, he wouldn’t have been so eager to push you towards just now. He must be well aware that if these matters ca to light, I would be the only one able to save you from Donald’s hands..."
"You should appreciate his well-intentioned efforts," Licia said emotionlessly.
She seed to despise Austin, who had remained silent the whole ti in the hall, and after casting a contemptuous glance at him, she then stepped out of the Eastern Shine Palace.
Her maids followed, seizing Lillian, and despite Lillian’s distraught struggles, took her directly out of this place of dispute.

Not only had Austin deceived and betrayed the entire Wolf royal family, but he had also taken advantage of the Empress Dowager Licia’s final sliver of rcy for Lillian to save his most important sister in the nick of ti.

I narrowed my eyes, casting a dangerous look at Austin below. I accepted Licia’s decision to take Lillian away, after all, Lillian was indeed unaware of all her brother’s sches.

He suddenly paused, the smile on his mouth fading slightly, and continued in an unfriendly tone, "I underestimated your strength. Had you not been so obstinate, I believe we could have continued to be friends, at least for the last two months, just like we were yesterday in the Windstorm Pack."
I knew what Austin swallowed after ’unexpectedly’: he hadn’t anticipated that I would suspect him so soon, nor that I would act so swiftly in searching for evidence and arresting him, and he hadn’t anticipated my ruthless change of face!
"Enough talk! You know that’s not what I want to hear."
Seeing Austin so talkative sparked my anger, but my face remained as cold as the ice of the Arctic, "Two months? Besides collecting firearms and materials with your accomplices, what other sches have you planned? You better tell everything now, or I can’t guarantee Lillian’s continued safety in the Royal City!"
I knew what Austin cherished most, and I had no intention of being a pointless good guy.

I stepped forward, standing in front of him, and retorted with a sneer, "What promise? I rely accepted that Licia took Lillian away but never said she’s completely out of the woods! I am no saint of moral perfection; you’ve always known that, haven’t you?"
As I questioned, I pretended to sigh lightly, watching Austin’s changing expressions with amusent, and continued, "So, drop any unrealistic hopes. The mont you stepped into the Royal City today, you should have known there’s no turning back! Unless..."
I paused, patted Austin on the shoulder mockingly, and added, "Unless your accomplices have the gift of foresight, because today you’re totally in my hands."
Yes! I t with many ministers overnight in the Eastern Shine Palace just so I could smoothly take down Austin today and prevent leaks of his arrest from sabotaging my long-term plans.
The reality proved that all my planning was ticulous; the only thing I overlooked was Austin using Licia to save Lillian.
