[Donald’s POV]
It had been a very long ti since I had spoken of these past events to anyone.
It was the matter involving Austin and Lillian that started the conversation today, and since Margaret was so eager to know about my past, I took the ti to slowly tell her everything.
Margaret’s final words of comfort were quite effective for . The gloom in my heart was sowhat dispersed, and I bent down to kiss Margaret on the forehead.
Looking at her gentle and tender expression, as she lay completely obedient in my arms, I couldn’t help but smile. Margaret was my ’Stabilizer’.
It had been nearly an hour since we set off from the Windstorm Pack, and Margaret seed a bit tired. She leaned against , closed her eyes, and fell asleep, while at this mont, a knock ca from the door of our room.
Quietly closing the door in front of , I turned my head to glance at Mark and whispered, "Speak in the front carriage."
Standing behind , Mark respectfully nodded his head, uncertain if my careful actions were appropriate or not.
It was now 2 o’clock in the afternoon. I looked at the overcast sky outside the RV and asked the subordinates standing before , "Two months ago, Austin began stockpiling supplies and weapons in secret. Have you found anything new about it?"
"Don’t tell you still know nothing. Without Captain Christian around, do you all just not feel like working anymore?"
As I spoke, I turned my head, my gaze shifting between Mark and Louis and finally resting on Benjamin.
I knew that this matter wasn’t within his area of responsibility, and I had not intended to involve him, but the space in the RV was limited. He had been doing his research in a corner of the front carriage for the past few days, and the dark circles under his eyes were nearly as black as the bottom of a pot.
"We admit our mistake, Your Majesty! It’s just that Austin has been incredibly secretive, and we can’t investigate him openly, which is why progress has been so slow," Mark reported to , his head bowed in sincere anxiety, his face filled with remorse.
At this ti, Louis also spoke up. He first glanced at Mark and then said, "I’ve already communicated with Captain Christian who’s following us. He said he had found so clues, but the opponent’s vigilance is so high that we dare not spook them by acting rashly!"
"We now only know that Austin has stockpiled about 200 submachine guns in his pack’s warehouse! Whether they’re for his own use or for soone else, we still do not know."
"200 guns? That number is indeed ambiguous. He could say they were for his own use, and it wouldn’t be implausible. What about the batch of supplies we noticed before? Do we know where he transported them?" I asked Mark and Louis in a sowhat sarcastic tone before pressing on.
In the territory of the Wolf royal family, werewolf packs need to report in advance to the Palace if they want to stockpile weapons or supplies. Austin’s trip to purchase supplies two months ago should, according to custom, have been first known to , but that was not the case.
Austin chose to conceal this from the Palace. I learned about it from the reports of the personal guard force, with Christian being the main person in charge at that ti.
However, before Christian could figure out what was happening, there was a report of an unidentified attack on the Red Sun pack which was located outside Devil’s Valley, near Margaret’s pack.
According to the intel from the Alpha of the Red Sun pack, we suspected that so kind of rebel force was at work, which led to the series of events which followed.
Investigating Austin was temporarily handed over to others, and our unavoidable stay at the Windstorm Pack was actually to make contact with the investigation team.
I continued to be as ’familiar’ and ’intimate’ with Austin and Lillian as usual, all of it to avoid arousing Austin’s suspicion.
He likely still had no idea I was aware of these matters, perhaps thinking I was simply displeased with Lillian’s disrespect towards Margaret.
"The destination of the supplies is Lilo Sea. Our investigation team tried to follow for a while, but ultimately lost track of them. We only know that the supplies were delivered by a shipping company called ’Voyager,’ and the owner is a young werewolf nad Karl," Louis said as he opened his file bag and handed a photo with the shipping company’s na on it.
I took the photo from him and said gravely, "Find soone to make contact with this Karl. I want to know who he works for, who he’s dealing with!"
Pointing at the cargo ship in the photo, I thought for a mont and then continued, "Inform Eric, who’s still in the Silver Moon Pack, to go directly to Lilo Sea. Leave this matter to him."
