[Margaret’s POV]

I pulled Elizabeth aside to a chair, poured her a cup of hot cocoa, and then spoke in a gentle voice, "Tell , what’s wrong? Did Armstrong make you angry again?"

Elizabeth paused for a mont, then shook her head and said quietly, "No, it’s my own problem."

That was rare for her to admit. Without agreeing or disagreeing, I glanced at her, indicating she should continue.

"I don’t know how to deal with the problems between him and . He’s my mate, but he doesn’t like as much, which you should know, Margaret, I... what should I do?"

Maybe it was because we had shared a life-and-death experience these past few days, Elizabeth actually opened up to about her and Armstrong. Before, that would have been nearly impossible.

Elizabeth might be a bit spoiled and willful, but her pride is no less than mine.

In her eyes, not being liked by her own mate must be an extrely embarrassing matter, especially given the past tender love between Armstrong and , which made it even more of a loss of face for her.

Yet she still chose to confide and seek my help, surprising and delighting .

Because this ant my little sister trusted enough to open up her heart.

I fell silent for a while, then gently took Elizabeth’s hand, patting it comfortingly, "You say Armstrong does not like you that much, what about Anthony?"

Surprised that I ntioned another person, Elizabeth looked up at .

"Do you think I can’t see what’s going on between you two? You’re my sister," I explained sowhat helplessly.

"I... There’s nothing between him and , he’s just Armstrong’s Beta!"

"Is that so?" My questioning made Elizabeth quiet down, looking at helplessly, like a harmless little rabbit that had lost its way.

I sighed lightly as I looked at her and then said, "eting a fated mate is a fortunate and happy event, it’s a werewolf’s instinct we have no reason to fight. But if this relationship keeps you unhappy, keeps you in constant turmoil and self-doubt, then you should reconsider it seriously!"

As I spoke, I touched her gaunt little face and continued, "When I say reconsider, I don’t an you have to make a decision right now, but rather that you should completely open up your heart and listen carefully to what it really wants."

"You’ve grown up, Elizabeth, maybe it’s ti to be a bit braver. Don’t be afraid, dad and I will always stand behind you to support you, you are still our Little Princess."

I said a lot, but Elizabeth just kept looking at quietly, her eyes reddening, as if I were her only support at that mont.

I do like how my only sister depends on , but sotis, there are things that others cannot decide for her.

She must see clearly what’s in her heart and be braver too.

Elizabeth sat next to silently crying. I comforted her for a while without saying much more, believing she must have taken my words to heart.

Night fell, and it was ti to see her ho. I also had to go back and et Donald early.

We saw Anthony at the front door; he seed to have been standing there for a long ti.

I glanced at him, didn’t give him a chance to speak, just pushed Elizabeth through the door, and told her to take a good bath and rest easy.

Anthony seed to sense sothing, bowed to us, and then turned to leave.

Watching the door to the room closing in front of , I called out to Anthony in a low voice, "Give her so ti. You’ve had a hard day too, and you’re still injured. Go back and rest now. There will be patrols and watch here tonight."

Anthony paused for a mont, then responded in a deep voice, "I understand, Margaret, thank you, I’ll be leaving now."

After Anthony left, I also had to go back to where I was staying with Donald. But just as I reached the door, I t Armstrong outside.

He looked very tired and paused when he saw .

"Did you co back?"

"I brought Elizabeth ho, she was with for a while in the evening. She’s resting in her room now. If you don’t have anything particularly important, do not disturb her. Just go back and get so rest," I said, my manner of sending people off similar to before yet highly effective. Armstrong took a long look at Elizabeth’s room on the second floor, then turned back to .
