eting Byron again
I made my purchases with my banked money that in two years ti had climbed to a ridiculous number. While the value of the healing grass type move went down after the initial surge there were new trainers every year so there was always a demand for the tms. Add on the constant flow of new grass type pokemon being added to trainers teams and my bank account was ridiculously flush with cash. There was a running gag back on earth about how the top rich folk could collapse the economy if they utilized all their assets and I felt I likely wasn't far from that point.-
One had to consider that no tm was truly cheap so even if the price dropped over ti it was still quite a chunk of change. Once the sales were calculated across the entire globe it could be easily imagined how much money I got from them. As it stood I could quite easily buy a sizable island if I so wanted to without much of a dent in my finances. Not that I would as I had no need to do such a thing. While I was thinking about this a familiar face approached from down the street, Byron.-
He hadn't changed much in the last two years to be honest though I did notice a new scar just under his left eye. "So it's true then, you really are back and in my city no less. Not sure if I should be flattered or concerned." he said with a smile clearly joking. "Disappearing for so long was never my intention, it just sort of happened. You seem to be doing well though, new scar not withstanding." I said tapping my face where his scar was.-
"Funny thing is the story there is right up your alley. Was busy capturing so poachers on Iron island about six months ago when one of them managed to get close to with a knife. Got right on my face before he was taken care of by my rather angry Skarmory. One of the closest calls with death I've ever had if I'm being honest." he said rubbing the scar gently as if rembering the feeling he got when he received it. "Orthodox trainers sotis forget that humans can be just as dangerous as any pokemon. It's one of the reasons I'm so ruthless to those I label enemy." I said with an understanding nod.-
"Aye, that's a lesson I won't be forgetting anyti soon. Enough about that though! I'm more interested in what you've been up to during this ti. Must have been quite sothing if it made you vanish so completely, even leaving your pokemon behind." he said curiously. "Not as interesting as you may think frankly. I simply went to a place where ti flowed much slower than the rest of the world so while for it felt like little more than a day in reality it was two years."-
"Ti will have little aning to soon enough though, a side effect of immortality." I said bluntly. "So Cynthia wasn't just blowing things out of proportion then? You really are going to beco a god?" he asked with an expression that made it easy to tell he couldn't wrap his mind around the idea at all. "Yeah, no reason to hide it since it's far too late for anyone to stop it. Even now I am slowly becoming more than mortal. Like a snake shedding it's old skin or a butterfly breaking free of it's cocoon." I said calmly.-
"The difference was that in both those cases the final result could still be considered a normal creature. But a god? That's an entirely different level of existence and not one I think humans are suited to." he said seriously. I could understand why he would think that since as a species we didn't have the greatest track record. "It's not an easy thing to pull off so you can relax there. I as always am more an exception than the rule in this scenario. While it is possible for technically anyone to beco a god the difficulty of such a task will prevent most from doing so."-
"It's why even those legendries who were born with a headstart in this regard have all failed to beco gods themselves. The chance of a human doing so is dramatically less than even that." I explained honestly. "While that is mildly reassuring I still can't help but feel conflicted that you have succeeded where all those others failed. Like how will this change how you interact with the rest of us who are stuck as mortals? Will you look down on us or will you prove a boon to all of humanity?" he asked with a lost look.-
"Looking down on others is inevitable. No matter my origins I will be fundantally superior to every other human on the planet. If you an whether I'll stop seeing others as human but re animals then your concern is unwarranted. While I will be superior to everyone else that doesn't an I'll belittle what they are. Humans are not re animals, we stopped being counted as such when we first had the thought "I am". It is the sa for pokemon that no one in their right mind would consider re beasts." I said seriously.-
"So what changes with you becoming a god? Are you going to run for the league's presidency or maybe create an empire of so sort?" he asked half joking half serious. "Nothing changes really, not in a fundantal way that is. The world will go on as it always did, just with one more immortal existence walking it's face. Personally I think I'll retire from the public stuff, maybe go relax in Orre for a while. I did quite enjoy my ti there over all." I said with a smile.-
"That's not what I expected you to say. To be honest I thought you might go off on so sort of power hungry conquest spree or sothing like that." he said sheepishly. "I suppose I can't bla you for thinking that way. I have a rather violent track record after all. How I'm going to handle team rocket here soon will certainly not be pretty either. That said I'm not a leader, not soone who takes joy in having others do as I say. If anything I think being in charge is more of a hassle than a gain to be frank, would get in the way of my freedom." I said honestly.
