Conundrum

"Good work everyone. We'll rest here for the rest of the day before continuing our journey tomorrow morning." I said and I got no argunts. Despite being nigh on feral and thus not using tactics during the battle the Celebi still gave my team one hell of a workout to take down. It was not only thirty levels higher than my team but also clearly wasn't unfamiliar with combat. You don't get to that high of a level without so degree of experience as sheer raw power only went so far.-

While it was obvious that it hadn't been trained formally as there were no complicated or well thought out tactics used by it during the battle but throwing everything you had at your enemies WAS a tactic, just a primitive one. It was also the sort of habit a pokemon develops when it has never had a truly equal foe before. In a manner of speaking the Celebi was like a bear surrounded by sheep, naturally it wouldn't need complexity to win. While I set up camp I was left with a particularly unpleasant dilemma, what to do with the Celebi.-

I neither wanted to or COULD keep the thing as I was already pushing the leagues limit on pokemon and the thing was not a good fit for my team to begin with. Aura wise it was a stable creature unlike most genetically modified pokemon so it was a perfectly viable option for soone's team with the right training but not mine. Unfortunately I had no use at all for the thing as it sort of fell into a niche my team already had filled to bursting. It was powerful sure but literally any of my pokemon would curb stomp the thing at the sa level and only struggled together this ti because of the level gap.-

Feral style or not being that close to champion level was not a fucking joke and it showed. This left rather conflicted as while I wasn't going to keep it I still had to figure out what to do with the damn thing. I had several options open to but none of them were ideal. The first was that I could just hand it over to the league and wash my hands of the matter. The problem here was that the league itself was infiltrated by Giovani and he could just make the thing "disappear" to obtain it if I did that.-

While I doubted he'd personally use it since it would be both too obvious and not his style that didn't an he couldn't pass it to one of his subordinates. The second option would be to send it to Birch, the twins or Flannery in Hoenn as it fell into their wheelhouses sowhat. The problem here was that none of them were perfect for this as Birch couldn't control it and the typings of the thing weren't perfectly aligned with the gym leaders.-

The third option was to release it but this would absolutely fuck up the local ecosystem unless it went sowhere without any other pokemon. Now Orre might sound perfect in this regard but the fact was Celebi were forest dwelling pokemon and that place was mostly rock, sand and magma if you counted Mt. Battle. As for the Relic forest I wasn't sure how the resident Celebi of the place would take to another showing up, especially one that had been modified genetically while being a clone to boot. It could either go great and they'd get along famously or it'd be war from the start.-

The final option I could think of was to hand it off to professor Oak which was likely the best option if I was being honest. The problem here was that I had no direct connection to the man and we might not be on the best of terms given our stances on certain subjects. I doubt the man hated or anything like that but he believed in peaceful capture and rehabilitation of criminals and well I preferred the criminals took dirt naps. This wasn't an irreconcilable difference in opinion as Birch was of a similar mindset as Oak and we were friends.-

But one must also take into account the sheer impact both had and you could see the problem. Birch had sway yes but he wasn't THE person everyone looked to for how to behave. Oak was and that ant he had no choice but to take a hard stance against my actions or it might encourage others to do it. 'I an I suppose I could send it to Birch and then have him send it to Oak so we don't have to interact.' I thought with a headache.-

None of these options were perfect but the fact remained that I had to make a decision and soon. 'I suppose I should go through my rewards for completing the quest first before I make a choice.' I thought and dug out the guaranteed skill ticket and two ability tickets. For the skill ticket I already knew EXACTLY what I wanted, Unknown runes. I had been eyeing that skill for quite so ti now and now that I had the option I was definitely going to grab it. I tore the ticket while making my choice and the ticket burst into rainbow smoke that flew up my nose and into my eyes as the information on the subject was cramd into my head.-

"Fuck!" I cursed in pain as my head was pounding from the sheer breadth and depth that the skill had to it. I was only partially correct in my understanding of what Unknown runes were for in that I thought they were ways to channel the power of Unknown into things. The truth was that with the skill I ca to understand where the power of Unknown ca from. It absolutely wasn't from Arceus but from what ca BEFORE the creator pokemon, chaos.-

Specifically the vast emptiness of energy with the potential to be anything and at the sa ti nothing. The power of Unknown was this potential given substance and by recreating their likeness on objects you could harness this energy to a minor degree to effectively create miracles. There was a catch however and a big one at that. The energy was HIGHLY volatile and even the slightest error when writing an Unknown rune could be catastrophic. This wasn't playing with fire but straight up juggling atomic bombs that WOULD go off if dropped or grabbed too tightly.
