It's been 4 days since I beca the Dark Knight's apprentice. A lot has happened in that ti. Yes, a lot... I almost saw a bright light at the end of the tunnel. In other words - I almost died!
Batman is certainly a cool teacher. During these days, I raised my fighting skill to 8. I guess I shouldn't have trolled him so much. Maybe I should stop? No, that's nonsense.
Today, when I arrived at Wayne Manor, Alfred told that the bat is currently patrolling Gotham. I thought I'd have to go ho, but the butler ntioned that Bruce allowed to train in the cave on my own.
Seriously? It's surprising, but of course I'm glad. There is various sports equipnt in the cave, and under careful and proper guidance I was able to raise my physical characteristics by one recently. If I continued to work out on my own, it would have taken 2 weeks, so the result is obvious.
But what confuses most is that I was allowed to go down to the cave alone. You must understand that Batman still does not trust . Do you think he accepted as an apprentice, let into his cave and allowed to use Bethany because I won his favor? Do you think I am such a persuasive person? No way!
The only thing that prompted him to do this was the desire to understand who I am and what my goal is. As the saying goes: "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." He has been watching all this ti, studying , trying to understand my true motives.
Well, what about ? All my plans and actions are completely transparent. I am not hiding anything, so let him spy as much as he wants. But the fact that he let train alone in the cave today is a bit suspicious. I don't think I've earned his trust yet. Most likely, he wants to see what I'll do when I'm alone. Well, it's not that important. Since Batman is gone today, I can use his computer again! There's one last test left to do. If there are no problems, then we can officially announce that the ga is ready.
Okay, I ca to train after all, so first there was punching a punching bag, lifting dumbbells, and working out with exercise machines. After training for about three hours, I finally decided to take a rest and ran as fast as I could to my beloved Bethany.
"Hello, Mister Alex," a female chanical voice rang out.
"Hello, Bethany. How are you doing?"
"I'm working properly. Thank you for your attention," a smiling emoticon appeared on the screen. God, this is so cute. I need to find out about the artificial intelligence technology from Bruce as soon as possible. I pulled out my laptop from my inventory and loaded the necessary data.
"Bethany, combine all available programs into one and launch it."
"Executing..."
Co on, go ahead. The last step. The finish line is just around the corner. And now the ga has launched…
"No problems found. The application is working properly," this voice was like a mantra for the ears. Yes! The ga works! The finishing touch is done. Well, now I need to properly advertise my creation.
"Wow, is this a new ga?" a female voice sounded behind . I almost jumped in surprise. Turning around, I saw a female version of Batman. Batgirl! Bruce trained her well, I didn't even notice that there was soone behind until she spoke. And I kept wondering when I would see her. Eh, even this combat gear can't hide her seductive figure. Okay, calm down, I need to make a good first impression.
"Hi, I'm Alex Reath…"
"I know. You're that "unusual" person."
"Unusual person?"
"Well, that's what Batman says," correcting herself, she turned her gaze to the monitors. "Subway Surfers"? Is that the na of your ga?"
"Yes, I just finished the last test. So, it's fully functional now."
"Really? Can I play?"
"Of course. Give your smartphone, I'll give it to you."
"What? Just like that?" The girl was surprised by my agreent. "Aren't you afraid that I might steal your developnt from you?"
"Of course not. For starters, this is a prototype. The real one will be a little different. Well, besides, I trust you, Miss Barbara."
Realizing that I had just said her na, Commissioner Gordon's daughter was greatly taken aback. Her gaze hardened a little. Well, it looks like Bruce passed on his bad habits to her.
"How did you find out my true identity? Did Batman tell you? No, that's impossible! He wouldn't…"
I was about to explain myself, but I was interrupted by the voice of the Dark Knight, who had returned to his cave.
"He knows everything about and about Alfred. It's not surprising that he knows about you, too, Barbara. And if I'm not mistaken, he knows much more than we think."
Here I decided to remain silent, and just smiled quietly.
"Okay, in that case, there is no need to wear a mask anymore," said Miss Gordon, heading towards a small corner of the cave where the mirror was, taking off her mask at the sa ti. It seems that sothing happened to her eye lenses. I noticed that one eye was slightly different from the other.
Probably, sothing happened in the fight and she lost one of the lenses. Yes, yes, I am so observant, and yes, my attention is drawn not only to the seductive figures of beautiful ladies, but also to their charming eyes.
Having removed the remaining lens, she put on her glasses and returned to us. And I was finally able to take a good look at her. As expected, a red-haired beauty stood in front of , and the glasses gave her a special charm.
"Here," she handed her smartphone. I picked up the phone and started handing over the trial version of the ga. "Still, why did you just trust with your toy? The fact that you know my true identity doesn't an anything."
"It's all about my intuition."
"Intuition?" she raised her red eyebrow. "So you're saying that your actions are based on intuition?"
"Not all of them, just the really important ones."
"And you believe it?" she asked, clearly doubting my words.
"Yes." It was my intuition who led to Batman that night. From the outside, my actions might have seed very dubious. I ca to the house of a stranger and told him information that would imdiately put under dangerous target. I understood all of this. But it was thanks to my intuition that I realized that Bruce would not kill , kidnap , or demand anything excessive. I trusted him not because I had no choice, but because I felt it was right.
"You didn't tell about this," Batman interrupted our conversation, tearing himself away from the monitor.
"The thing is, I'm not entirely sure about this power myself. I feel that my "intuition" is a very useful thing. But on the other hand, I don't quite understand it," I stated in an ambiguous tone.
"Bruce, do you really believe in this?" Barbara asked.
"There is magic, mutants, aliens in this world. There is nothing strange in the fact, that Alex might have unusual intuition."
Everyone remained silent. The mobile ga successfully downloaded to Barbara's phone. To be honest, I'm also curious to know how the ga will work on smartphones. I handed her the phone and explained what kind of ga it was. At first, the girl couldn't get the hang of it. Her character crashed into a moving train several tis, but soon she ran quite a decent distance.
Watching her facial expression, my confidence that this ga would make a splash in this world grew stronger. She completely imrsed herself in the ga world...
This ga is very simple, you just need to run, collect coins and not let the guard catch you, but the more you play, the more it captivates you. There is a desire to beat your record again and again, overcoming yourself. I continued to watch her captivated face for about an hour, but my serene pasti was interrupted by her indignant cry.
"Damn! My battery is dead! I've already beaten my previous record, and now it's clearly not going to count. I'm so angry!"
Ha-ha, she's so cute when she's angry. After grumbling for a minute, Barbara finally cald down and looked at . "Alex, you surprise more and more. When I read your books, I thought that your worldview was completely different from an ordinary person. I really liked those books. Inspired by them, I even thought about writing so work myself, but then I realized that writing is far from being an easy task, as I thought. In the end, I gave up my stupid ideas. I ca to the conclusion that with your extraordinary view of things, the ability to correctly and competently convey your ideas, we can safely call you a natural writer, an innovator in the world of literature."
"I do not deserve such high praise," I was slightly embarrassed.
"But when I found out that you founded a ga company, I decided that you were simply wasting your talent. I did not believe that you could produce sothing good. But today... I don't even know how to explain it. It's a very addictive ga, very simple, but that's what's so appealing about it. I'm looking forward to your new product. Now my intuition tells that whatever you co up with, it's going to cause a real storm."
"I... I don't even know what to say to that."
While Barbara and I were in our own wave, Batman was carefully investigating sothing, studying the computer screens. Moving closer, I realized that he was trying to find out soone's location.
"What exactly are you looking for, Bruce?"
"The Heart Company warehouse," the man said briefly, not taking his eyes off the monitors. "What? Haven't they already been arrested? Heather and I gave all the necessary information."
"Their company was almost completely destroyed, but I found out about another illegal warehouse. According to the available data, I dare say that this is where they removed the kidneys, and most likely, where the holess were held."
"Bastards…"
We are talking about the pharmaceutical company "Heart", located in Gotham City. It conducts research, develops, produces and sells drugs. But behind all this there is also a secret underground organization that kidnaps holess people in order to remove their internal organs. If I had not taken over the body of this boy, perhaps a sad fate would have awaited him too. Okay, that's not important now.
"You an they are still doing their business?"
"No, now all their distribution channels are blocked. But the thing is, they can still hold people there, and I still haven't been able to find out even an approximate location," Batman said with a heavy voice. A tough job... Well, as they say, if you want it done right, do it yourself.
"Bruce, can you display a map of Gotham on the screen?"
"What are you planning?"
"It's ti to test my intuition, find out what it can do."
"Are you sure about that, Alex?" Barbara asked, clearly not knowing what to think. "I'm not sure, but now we're going to find out the limits of my insight. I've wanted to do this for a long ti."
Wayne said nothing, just silently provided the map. Seeing the huge city, I felt a little helpless. Gotham is a pretty big city. Perhaps it is not even inferior to New York in this. And how can I find a warehouse here?! Phew... Focus, don't think, just follow your intuition, discard consciousness and logical reasoning.
I need to make a decision without having enough information, without seeing the logic of the events taking place, without being able to build a chain of cause and effect. So, the outskirts of the area, a little further than the Gotham River... I continued to zoom in on the map in a certain place, and eventually, my choice fell on a long-forgotten place.
"This warehouse has been abandoned for 5 years. There is nothing there, no electricity, no water, no normal road. This place is in no way suitable for full-scale operations," Bruce explained, looking at the unremarkable place on the screen. "But…a branch of the river flows through this place, which can be used to create a hydroelectric power station. Three hundred ters from this place, about 50 years ago, there was a coal mine. If you dig a small tunnel, it will beco an excellent transportation location. This is an ideal place, I will check it out," Bruce finished, putting on his mask.
"Do you think I was right?"
"I overlooked this place. But thanks to you, I compared the available facts. The chance that this is exactly the place we are looking for is more than 80%. And one more thing ... If our assumptions are correct, I will not have ti to train you tomorrow evening."
"This is unfortunate. But since you can not, then maybe Miss Barbara will devote her ti to my training?" I glanced towards the red-haired beauty.
"?" She pointed her finger at herself.
"Exactly you. You have outstanding fighting skills, I could learn a lot from you, sensei."
"Um, I could of course, but," the girl was waiting for the word from her ntor. Batman, as always, is a man of few words. He gave us a slight nod, then drove out of the cave at full speed in his Batmobile.
"Looks like he agrees. I look forward to your instructions, sensei," I bowed with a sly smile on my face. Barbara threw a aningful glance in my direction.
