I stood on the edge of the sand, staring out at the horizon where the ocean t the sky, and for the first ti in a while, I wasn't watching for incoming tsunamis.

The beach was calm today, and OK was... well, it was ti to see if he could really keep his promise.

The event had been billed as the "Mythica Beach Bash," but truthfully, it was more of a spectacle.

There were banners everywhere.

"Kraken's First Dance-Off!"

"Splash-Free Zone!" and, my favorite, "Save the Beach, Stay Safe!"

The beach had been cordoned off into several distinct zones—one for sunbathing, one for karaoke (because let's face it, if Mythica had anything like a beach party, karaoke would be involved), and then there was the special Kraken zone.

I glanced at the special designated area, where OK had been resized down to a more manageable size thanks to the temporary potion.

He was standing awkwardly in the corner, his tentacles twitching with nerves, looking like a giant, nervous toddler at a party.

His usual towering height had been reduced to sothing just barely taller than a group of the local Selkies, but still big enough to make a statent.

And even with his reduced size, I had no doubt that a single misplaced step could send a ripple through the whole event.

Still, I had to admit— I was proud of him.

The livestream had gone better than expected, and even though there were so skeptical Mythicans in the crowd, most of them had ward up after hearing OK's heartfelt apology.

They were finally willing to give him a chance.

"You're doing great, OK!" I called from the sidelines, giving him a thumbs-up. He waved back, his tentacles swaying with a mix of excitent and lingering anxiety.

"Thanks, Carl!" he called back, his voice slightly muffled but still carrying that familiar enthusiasm. "I'm just… waiting for the signal. Is the splash zone… safe?"

I smiled, shaking my head. "You're good! No splashes allowed, rember? Just… keep the dancing low-key."

Before OK could respond, a loud voice pierced through the air. "Alright, alright, everyone! The ti has co! Let the Kraken Dance-Off begin!"

Perez's voice, smooth and as theatrical as ever, rang out across the beach. I turned just in ti to see him—strutting down the makeshift runway like it was his own personal stage, his horns gleaming in the sunlight, the crowd parting for him like he was royalty. He gave the audience a wide, knowing grin and raised his clawed hands in the air. The crowd cheered, so even standing on their feet.

"Now, darlings, I know you've been waiting for this," Perez continued, his voice dripping with mischief. "Our guest of honor, the Kraken with the groove, the titan of the tides, the man of the hour… OK!"

The crowd went wild, and OK gave a bashful wave, his tentacles flailing slightly as he stepped into the designated dance area. His dance zone had been set up with soft sand and cushioned mats to absorb any accidental splashes, though everyone kept a careful distance from the edges.

"Alright, Kraken," Perez's voice rang out again. "Show us what you've got, and no waves this ti, please."

OK nodded nervously but then, with a deep breath, he began to move. His tentacles shifted gracefully at first, unsure but becoming more confident with each beat of the music. The crowd watched in silence for a mont, unsure of how to react. But then—then, sothing magical happened.

OK's moves flowed with the music, the rhythm of his movents almost hypnotic. His once clumsy, earth-shaking dance style had evolved into sothing fluid, sothing… elegant.

He shifted from tentacle to tentacle, each movent precise but full of life, weaving through the music with a grace I'd never thought possible.

He wasn't just dancing— he was telling a story, a tale of redemption, of finding his place in a world that had feared him.

The crowd started clapping along, and then, as OK dropped into a spin, a huge wave of applause erupted from the crowd. OK's eyes widened with surprise and joy as he looked around at the Mythicans watching him.

They were no longer seeing him as the nace of the sea. No, they were seeing the Kraken as sothing far more aningful: a creature of passion, of heart, of desire to belong.

"Look at that, Mythica! Can you feel it?!" Perez yelled into the mic, his voice almost lost in the deafening cheer. "This is the Kraken we've all been waiting for! The Kraken with the moves! The Kraken who just wants to dance and fit in!"

OK spun again, his tentacles extending wide, and for a mont, I thought he might take flight in so grand, final gesture of triumph. But he didn't. Instead, he slowly crouched, resting on one tentacle, the others folded around him like a protective shell.

The music stopped, and there was a brief silence before the applause grew louder, echoing through the beach like a tidal wave of support. OK stood up, his cheeks glowing with pride.

He had done it.

"That's it!" Perez cheered, his voice full of drama. "The Kraken has redeed himself, and Mythica has a new favorite dance legend! What do you think, folks? Is this the start of sothing new for our beloved Kraken?"

The Mythicans around us were on their feet, clapping, cheering, so even throwing flower petals toward OK in an impromptu show of support. The comnts were already flooding in online, filled with love and excitent.

"Give him a chance!" one person wrote.

"He's just misunderstood!" said another.

"Best dance moves in Mythica, hands down!"

OK, grinning like a child who had just won their first trophy, waved at the crowd. "Thanks, everyone! This ans a lot to ."

I caught his eye and gave him a thumbs-up, watching as his once-trembling tentacles now moved with confidence.

"See? I told you they'd co around," I said, grinning as OK took a bow.

He turned to , his massive face full of pride and gratitude. "I couldn't have done it without you, Carl."

Before anyone could say a word, the unmistakable sound of the PinkCorals' latest hit blasted through the speakers, instantly sending the crowd into a frenzy.

The familiar beat dropped, and with it, four shimring figures appeared at the edge of the stage—each one exuding a cool confidence that only the PinkCorals could pull off.

The crowd lost their collective mind.

And OK? His face went through about a dozen different expressions, each more bewildered than the last.

I couldn't help but grin. He didn't expect this. None of us had.

Jaynee, the lead singer with her ocean-blue hair and captivating grin, stepped forward, a microphone in hand.

"Hey, Mythica! We're the PinkCorals, and tonight, we're going to do sothing a little special. We're going to debut our new single, and guess who's going to be our dance partner?"

OK's jaw nearly dropped to the sand.

The crowd erupted into cheers as Jaynee looked directly at him. "That's right, folks! The Kraken's on the floor with us tonight. Give it up for OK!"

The music kicked up again, and without missing a beat, OK joined the PinkCorals.

I watched, incredulous, as they danced together—his movents now seamless with the rmaids'.

They were synchronized in a way that shouldn't have been possible, but it was magic on the floor. The crowd couldn't get enough.

Perez, ever the showman, couldn't resist. "Is this history in the making, or what? The PinkCorals and OK, setting the beach—no, Mythica—on fire tonight!"

The applause was deafening as the final notes of the song echoed into the night.

OK was practically glowing with pride, and the PinkCorals—Leesa, Jaynee, Rosae, and Jees—each gave him a high-five. The energy in the air was electric.

Then, to everyone's surprise, Jaynee magically pulled out a rolled-up parchnt. She handed it to OK with a teasing grin. "We've got sothing for you, OK. An official invite to join our upcoming tour as a special guest dancer."

OK's eyes went wide. "Wait... seriously?"

"As serious as a sea serpent," Leesa said with a wink.

The crowd caught on, chanting his na, and OK's face split into the widest grin I had ever seen.

"I'm in!" he shouted, practically shouting over the cheering.

The crowd went wild. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. OK, the Kraken who'd been a walking disaster for years, was now part of the PinkCorals' tour.

This was huge. No, this was epic.

My friend, the Kraken, had found his place in Mythica. And no matter how many waves we had to ride together, I knew one thing for sure— we'd face them together.

And maybe, just maybe, Mythica would start to see him the way I did—not as a disaster, but as a creature with a dream and a whole lot of heart. The source of this content ɪs novᴇlfire

As much as I hate to admit it, Mythica, despite the chaos and confusion, started to grow on .

I jumped at the tap on my shoulder and turned to find a Selkie standing there. Not one of the chubby ones who had swindled out of my Mythica credits, but a striking, modelesque Selkie with a poised air about her.

"Excuse , are you Carl?" she asked, her voice smooth.

"Err, yeah. Do I know you?" I replied, intrigued by how she knew my na.

"I was told you could help us," she said, glancing around before locking eyes with . "You're the CCP guy, right?"

I blinked, a little thrown off. "Uh, yeah, that's . Sure, I'll try. But what exactly do you need help with?"

"We need you to find our Safes." She paused, her expression shifting slightly. "It got swept out deep into the ocean. But... there's a monster guarding it."

"Deep sea monster?" I frowned. That doesn't sound safe at all.
