Lara took her designs and set out. But as soon as she did, she found a car parked and a chauffeur dressed in his uniform waiting outside the door.

"Miss Lara, Mr Curtis got you a driver. Please don’t say no" Beny inford, smiling and pointing at the car.

"No, I don’t need it. I’m fine and trust , I’ll always be fine as long as I get my freedom to go wherever I want" Lara refused.

She knows Curtis is doing this for his baby’s sake but then, it was getting too elaborate for her to accept. He should let her be and wait until the babies are born, then he could shower them with all the love in the world.

"If you say no, this man will be out of a job. Please don’t say no. Let him do his job and earn a living for himself and his family" Benny urged.

Again, Lara couldn’t say no. If for anything, soone else’s source of livelihood depended on it. She sighed softly and nodded.

As she heads towards the different companies she knows would be willing to take her designs draft, Curtis Rodney’s assistant calls her.

Lazarus Doe requested that she drive to the company. It’s definitely going to delay her, but all the sa she instructed the chauffeur to drive towards the millennium entertainnt center.

As she arrived, a bodyguard was waiting to walk her to the CEO’s office on the private elevator. Over ti, the only person that uses that elevator is Curtis Rodney himself.

She took that elevator and went directly to the lobby, leading to the CEO’s office. That way, she avoided the gazes of the employees except the CEO’s secretary.

The secretary raised her head and saw her, giving her a scrutinizing gaze. She sneered and simply nodded to the bodyguard.

She t Curtis Rodney having a discussion with two of his employees. She recognises one of them as Lazarus Doe and the other, she doesn’t know.

"Sit, Lara. I’ll be with you shortly" Curtis offered. He watched her sit carefully and then went back to his discussion.

When he was through, Lazarus Doe smiled at her and said "I see you are doing fine today. You scared us greatly yesterday" he teased.

Lara smiled briefly and said "Thanks, I’m alright now" she glanced at her phone, Kayla was calling and she silenced it.

"Please answer your phone. The call might be important as well" Curtis coaxed, pulling off his suit and draping it on the swivel chair.

Lara nodded and answered her phone "...I’ll be leaving soon. I’m going to submit the draft. I might just be lucky to be favoured...alright I’ll call you when I’m through..." she hung up to find Curtis staring at her intently.

"You have an already made design draft to sell?" Curtis asked her sharply. Of course they buy drafts to produce sothing unique if his employees couldn’t co up with sothing magical.

He ca over and sat next to Lara, his cologne overshadowing her sense of sll. This guy is perfect in every sense.

"Yeah and I was actually heading sowhere when your call ca through..." she was saying when Curtis chuckled slightly.

A feeling of friendliness filled the air instantly. This stone cold man really chuckled? This is not sothing she’ll ever expect from him.

"Let take a look" he requested, stretching his hand but Lara turned away from him instantly. She suddenly felt familiar with him.

Curtis chuckled louder this ti.

"I’m not going to copy your draft, trust " he assured her but Lara refused and said "No, I want it to be unique when my partners finally cos out with it"

How can Curtis Rodney see her drafts and expect him to be amazed when he sees it being made a finished product. Besides, he’s a business man and might just produce sothing almost identical with it.

"Okay what if I decide to buy it, aren’t you going to sell it to ?" Curtis demanded, becoming more curious to see it.

"I don’t want to sell, I want a deal of partnership and I’m definitely not interested in working with you" she spewed the words out.

First, he employed her and next terminated her job. She ca to be interviewed and almost lost her baby. How can she work in such a toxic environnt?

"Seriously,Lara?" Curtis asked, surprised at her outburst. Maybe she’s not stubborn, maybe she’s been sincere and practical.

"Yes, and don’t misunderstand this ti. I can’t partner with you because of the toxic working environnt it will cause to . There are just so certain people I want to avoid for as long as I live" she explained briefly.

She doesn’t want to create a misunderstanding between them again. She doesn’t want them to think she only knows how to tongue lash.

Curtis was quiet for a while. He was going to discuss the vacancy and the contract. Besides, didn’t she say to him earlier that they needed to talk?

He would be interested in taking her along to his parents place if she agrees to the contract. It will be a huge blessing for him from his parents.

And now, talking about the toxicity of the work place, he understands with her. That ex husband of hers and his bitchy girlfriend would make things difficult for her.

But he wasn’t going to allow that to happen. They both will be punished and she will head over them. He could do that and none was capable of scolding him over what he does.

"You shouldn’t worry about those certain people, I’ll take care of them. But first, I want to see the draft design and possibly be the partner you are seeking" Curtis Rodney coaxed further.

Lazarus Doe was listening and watching. This is more like a plain way of getting acquainted. He likes it and a broad smile plastered on his face.

"Tell why you are smiling Mr Doe?" Lara snapped at him. Lazarus glanced at Curtis, their eyes locked and they gave out a quiet laugh.

"If it offends you, I sincerely apologize, your Majesty" Lazarus teased and continued laughing, Lara couldn’t hold back, and she laughed too.
