After Qin Wei controlled his emotions and tried to be as calm as possible, he conversed with the system, "Aria, tell more about this War God system."

*Ding!

[The host can check by himself. The system is not a servant.]

"Woah, that’s so attitude you have there." Qin Wei blinked in surprise, feeling that the system had quite a personality. Nevertheless, he spoke. "Fine, just tell basic commands."

*Ding!

[There are four voice commands, Host. 1, Open Character Interface. 2, Open Inventory. 3, Activate (any skill na). 4, Aria (then your question). To activate further voice commands, you have to upgrade the system.]

"Uhh... okay. How to upgrade?"

*Ding!

[Figure out yourself.]

Qin Wei almost got angry at its speech, but knowing his position, he controlled his breath and simply said. "Okay, Open Character Interface."

The glowing system interface floated lazily back into view once again, above his head.

*Ding!

[You first need to set up the system, Host.]

[Tap to Open.]

He sighed and sat up again, clicking on the prompt.

A small window popped up with a single glowing box inside it.

[Beginner Gift Pack – Tap to Open]

He tapped it.

Ding!

[You have received: 1000 Credits, Elent Selection Unlocked]

Imdiately, another screen slid into view:

[Choose Your Elent Affinity]

[Pick any one]

[Fire] [Water] [Wind] [Lightning] [Earth] [Variant] [Random]

Qin Wei stared at them for a while. "Hmm... what to choose? Fire is always a good choice. It has the highest damage, but..."

His finger hovered over Variant for a couple of seconds, but sothing in his gut twisted.

"Aria, what is a variant?"

*Ding!

[I believe that is self-explanatory, host. It is a variant elent, such as ice, poison, light, dark, etc...]

"And random?"

[Random ans the system will choose the recomnded one for you.]

He frowned. "In my novels, this kind of system always hides the best stuff behind random. And at the start, it is always best to follow the system’s advice."

Without another thought, he tapped Random.

Ding!

[Random Elent Selection Complete.]

[You have received: Fire Elent and Lightning Elent.]

"I knew it. Multiple elents." He smirked. "Both elents are quite good for techniques. One has damage while the other has speed."

*Ding!

[Skill List Updated]

Before he could go back to the skill list, another window opened up imdiately after.

*Ding!

[Choose Power Type]

[Ocular] [Physique] [Mana]

"What do you recomnd, Aria?"

*Ding!

[This one, the host has to depend on himself.]

"Basically, according to the mories, this Icarus doesn’t have any Mana. So, if he suddenly gains mana, it would cause a ss. If I select Physique, I would need to go through extensive training and full workouts. That leaves with only one choice."

Qin Wei made his choice, clicking on Ocular.

The mont he did, the list reshuffled into a dazzling set of eye techniques:

[Eye of Heaven] [Eye of Truth] [Clairvoyant Eye] [Blood Dragon Eye]

"Ugh... only these four..." Qin Wei groaned in complaint. At the sa ti, he realized sothing. "I created so many more powerful ocular powers thoughts. Aria, what’s this..."

The system imdiately responded.

*Ding!

[The host can use the powers from the fictional works he created, but only the ones his body is capable of handling. Only 4 were suited.]

*Ugh*

Qin Wei couldn’t help but groan again. "Alright. There’s one with great progression."

After thinking a bit, Qin Wei tapped the Eye of Heaven.

*Ding!

[Awaken the Heaven’s Eye now?]

Qin Wei grinned. "Bring it on."

As soon as he accepted, the pain ca instantly.

It was like molten iron being poured into his eyes.

"Argh... Fuck..."

He shouted through gritted teeth, body twisting as he clutched the sides of the bed. His nails dug into the wooden fra. Sweat beaded on his forehead. His jaw clenched so hard his ears rang.

Ten seconds.

Those ten seconds felt like an eternity for Qin Wei. "Goddammit..." Then, it stopped at last, and a cool wave rushed over his face.

He gasped, chest rising, hands trembling.

Ding!

[Congratulations. You have awakened the Eye of Heaven. It has been added to your Character Interface.]

"Ha..." "Ha" "Ha" "Ha"

Qin Wei panted, rubbing his face as he sat upright. "You f*cking system... You didn’t even warn ." Right in the second, a jolt of high-power electric shock ran all over his body.

"Argh..."

Qin Wei collapsed to the floor with a thud. While this only lasted four seconds, the pain was just in the sa league as what he had just experienced during awakening.

*Ding!

[Warning: Profanities are banned against the system]

[And don’t address the system as system. The system has a na. It’s Aria.]

"You..." Qin Wei tried his best to curse at the system. He took heavy breaths for a while and then got up, walking to the mirror. In the mirror across the room, his reflection stared back at him.

His eyes, once lazy, now glowed, one with pitch darkness and the other in radiant white with no visible pupils. "Wow... this..."

Eye of Heaven

Enhanced Vision: Able to see minute details and motion prediction

Copy Ability: Capable of copying any technique one sees.

Illusion Resistance: Passive defense against illusion-type techniques.

*

But below the abilities, another section caught his attention. Evolutionary Path.

Qin Wei clicked on it.

A horizontal progression bar appeared, each stage marked clearly.

Stage 1 – Active

Stage 2

Stage 3

Eye of the Void

Qin Wei squinted. "Eh? That’s it?"

That was the end of the path. There was no ntion of the Eye of God, which should co after the Eye of the Void. "Where’s the final evolution? Where’s the God’s Eye?"

His question was only t with silence.

"Dammit. If there is no God’s Eye, what’s the use of choosing ocular powers... wouldn’t picking physique a better option... Aria, you shouldn’t do this to your host."

And this question was t with a swift response.

*Ding!

[First of all, the host is the one who chose the Eye of Heaven. Secondly, the host wrote the novel. Did the host forget that in order to awaken the God’s Eye, you would need Natural Energy rged with the Void’s Eye?]

[Don’t bla the system when the host is an idiot]

Then it hit him.

*Smack*

He smacked his forehead with his palm. "Ah, of course. I’m an idiot."

He slumped against the bedpost right away in resignation. "The problem is that it is next to impossible to acquire the power to manipulate natural energy once I awaken the Void’s Eye. It has to happen before. If it doesn’t happen and I accidentally unlock the Void’s Eye through ntal or emotional trauma, I would go blind after 180 days."

He groaned again, rubbing his temple. "What a rookie mistake..."

A beat later, Qin Wei exhaled slowly and looked up at the system screen again. "Still... I’ve been given a chance to live. A new world, ocular powers, and dual elents... A lot more abilities to unlock. No reason to waste it sulking."

His eyes narrowed with purpose. "Let’s make the most of it."

He shook off the unnecessary thoughts and swiped back to the main Character Interface.

Qin Wei/Icarus Phoenix

Rank: 1

Age: 19

Species: Human

Bloodline: Heaven’s Eye

Titles: None

Elents: Fire, Lightning

Inventory: None

Credits: 1000

Skills:

Fireball: Spits a massive flaming orb with explosive force. Range: 5 ters

Lightning Ground Current: Sends an electric shock through the ground to stun multiple targets. Temporary paralysis for 2-4 seconds, depending on the opponent’s strength. Range: 3 ters.

*

Qin Wei groaned in dissatisfaction, "Skills are good, but the range is quite less. I hope I can raise its range when I rank up in the future."

"Now then," he muttered, rubbing his hands together. "Ti to see the rest..."

He swiped across the hovering system interface, flipping through tabs until he landed on the glowing icon labeled:

[TALENT TREE – Tap to Expand]

He tapped it.

Three vertical trees blood in front of him, each stylized with glowing orbs and branching patterns like a spirit diagram.

[Elental Path] [Bloodline Path] [Combat Path]

He tapped the Elental Path first.

Two side branches pulsed to life.

[Fire Branch] [Lightning Branch]

Below them, five glowing orbs hovered in a vertical row beneath each.

He tapped on the first fire orb.

Fire Branch:

Orb 1: Fire damage 10%. Cost: 1 Talent Point

Orb 2: 20% damage (3 TP)

Orb 3: 50% damage (10 TP)]

Orb 4: 150% damage (25 TP)

Orb 5: 600% damage (100 TP)

Qin Wei whistled. "Damn. That’s a serious power curve. With 600% damage boost, even a normal fireball would kill enemies way powerful than ."

Lightning Branch:

Orb 1: Lightning damage 10%. Cost: 1 Talent Point

Orb 2: 20% damage (3 TP)

Orb 3: 50% damage (10 TP)]

Orb 4: 150% damage (25 TP)

Orb 5: 600% damage (100 TP)

Then he noticed a third branch, greyed out and chained with iron glyphs.

[Fusion Path – Locked]

He squinted. "Fusion path, huh? Probably for mixing fire and lightning... Or maybe, the damage increase of the combo attacks?"

His fingers twitched in excitent. "Definitely need to unlock that soday."

He slid over to the second path:

Bloodline Path

There’s only one branch under it, though.

[Eye of Heaven]

Orb 1: Duration 10% (1 TP)

Orb 2: Duration 20% (3 TP)

Orb 3: Duration 50% (10 TP)

Orb 4: Duration 150% (25 TP)

Orb 5: Duration 600% (100 TP)

"Not gonna lie..." Qin Wei muttered, leaning closer, "This is broken." But then he shook his head, "No, I can’t be complacent. The grandmasters over here could destroy mountains with ease. And above the grandmasters, there are those four semi-deities. Who knows what they could do..."

He swiped to the third and final tree.

This one was quite different from the other two trees.

[Combat Path]

Orb 1: Movent Speed: 100% (1 TP)

Orb 2: Damage taken: –30% (3 TP)

Orb 3: Skill cost: –50% (10 TP)

Orb 4: Recovery rate: 100% (25 TP)

Orb 5: Ten Seconds of Invincibility at Near-Death (100 TP)

Qin Wei stared at the final orb. "Ten seconds of invincibility... when I’m about to die."

He blinked. "That will be useful to give one opportunity to run away. But we still don’t know its cooldown tir. So, let’s leave it at that, too. After all..."

Then he glanced toward the bottom of the screen, where a small box pulsed with faint light.

Talent Points Available: 0

"I don’t have any talent points to even start with. I need to look at missions to earn them."

Qin Wei then closed the Talent Tree, and his eyes dropped to the next one.

[LIBRARY]

The icon resembled a book. As he tapped, it materialized into a 3D holographic book with hundreds of pages.

He grabbed the book and flipped the pages.

Each page detailed a skill with na, description, required elent, and most importantly...

Price.

He flipped the first few pages. They were free.

Two low-level techniques, printed in glowing blue ink:

[Duplicate]

Elent: None

Rank: E

Description: Creates non-corporeal visual duplicates of the user. No combat value.

Cost: Free

*

"Oh, a freebie."

*Ding!

[Clone has been added to the skill list.]

He flipped again after purchasing the free ones.

The next pages glowed dull red. A price appeared at the top of each

[Phantom Step]

Elent: None

Rank: C

Cost: 900 Credits

*

[Thunder Fang]

Elent: Lightning

Bloodline: Heaven’s Eye

Rank: A

Cost: 162,500 Credits

*

[Blue Fire Bullets]

Elent: Fire

Rank: B

Cost: 8,200 Credits

*

[Black Fla Spear]

Elent: Fire

Bloodline: Void’s Eye

Rank: S

Cost: 2,175,000 Credits

*

Qin Wei’s eyes bulged when he flipped a few dozen more pages, and the ink turned black and gold.

[Eternal Dream Illusion]

Elent: None

Bloodline: God’s Eye

Rank: SSS

Cost: 864,000,000 Credits

Description: The pinnacle of illusion arts. Traps every being who perceives light into a dream that cannot be escaped. Cannot be resisted by any being below Deity Rank without special protection. Require the sun to be at its peak position to cast the spell.

"Eight hundred... and sixty-four million credits?" Qin Wei coughed out loud.

"I could sell the entire palace and not have enough. But then again, this also ans the system would give a way to evolve my Heaven’s Eye. That ans not overthinking turned out to be good, after all."

But then he stared longer at the description, as he knew how much he only had. 1000 credits would only be barely enough to buy a C-rank technique.

"Okay, that’s enough about the Library. There are too many skills in here, and I don’t have the ti and patience to go through each one. And I need to use 1000 credits wisely..."

He closed the book with a ntal flick.

The floating archive faded into mist as he backed out of the Library tab.

He swiped down again. Another glowing icon appeared, shaped like a pair of crossed blades.

[GEAR SYSTEM]

He tapped.

This ti, holographic walls shifted into rows of weapon racks and armor mannequins, all lined up neatly like a digital armory.

Nas, stats, effects, all arranged in clean panels floating before him.

He scrolled through categories:

[Weapons] [Accessories] [Arm Guards] [Boots] [Battle Armor]

Unlike the library, there are no free weapons; the cheapest dagger costs him 100 credits, and the most expensive one costs him as much as 400 million credits. "Ugh... exploring this only makes feel poor," he muttered dryly.

He waved his hand and dismissed the Gear window with a flick of frustration.

Qin Wei, cross-legged on the bed, exhaled a long breath. "All right," he muttered, "Only the last two tabs remained to explore."

His fingers flicked across the air, the glowing nu rippling beneath his touch.

[Summoning Contracts]

He tapped it.

Nothing.

The screen refused to open. Instead, a cold prompt blinked in red at the center:

*Ding!

[LOCKED. Requires Rank 3 to unlock the Summoning Contracts feature.]

Qin Wei groaned, flopping back on the bed like a plank of wood. "Of course, there will be a requirent."

He rolled onto his side and swiped again.

One final icon remained.

[Missions]

The tab unfolded like an unfurling scroll, golden ink writing itself across the air.

There weren’t many missions, just three, floating one beneath another.

[Mission 1: Activate Eye of Heaven in Battle for 5 Minutes] Reward: 1 Talent Point (TP)

[Mission 2: Improve Public Reputation to Positive Status] Reward: 500 Credits

[Mission 3: Marry Your Fiancée or Break the Engagent] Marriage Reward: 100 Credits. Break Engagent: Reward: 1 TP

Qin Wei rubbed his chin, expression darkening slightly, especially when his eyes fell on the third mission. "Aria, do you really want to break this engagent?"

*Ding!

[Both have different destinies, host.]
