I’m pretty sure anyone in the same circumstance will do exactly as I had. I mean lie about going to the bathroom and bailing from there.
I wondered what the guy took me for, a prize to be dangled around, or a pet to be taken around on a leash. And don’t even get me started on his friends, well, I didn’t know Chad, but I’m pretty sure he will be exactly like the other two, complete jerks.
And Aaron, kissing my hand and talking about fate, please. Don’t get me wrong, he was like a modern Greek god with his gold sleek hair and grey eyes, but getting myself entangled with someone close to Richard, would be a very big mistake and the guy was an asshole right from the very first time we met, so there’s that.
When I left, all I wanted to do was go back to the Blake Mansion and crawl into the covers, but I couldn’t. Not without entertaining an endless trail of questions from Alicia and her daughters.
So, I did the only rational thing I could think of. I called Millie and she directed me to where they were. Emily was indeed there, even Vera, then Felicity, Tera and Millie. They were like a girl gang, always meeting up from time to time to talk about their life issues, work problems and of course, relationship matters.
Vera had been a bitch through it all. Whining about how I had sneaked my way to Richard’s side and now to her gang. The girl was totally smitten by her boss and I wished she would see that he was never going to see her in that light again. She was past tense to him and the sooner she realized that the better, but I didn’t tell her any of that. Not that there was any chance for it, they drilled me on how I managed to change the billionaire’s mind about hiring a personal assistant.
