With this, Luo Xiaoxi turned to leave.
“Xiaoxi!” Qin Wei rushed over and grabbed her hand. “You and Su Yicheng are not right for each other! Haven’t you realized it? You two differ in character. It’s impossible for you to get along well or have a happy marriage. If you think the single spark between you will flare in the future, you’re dead wrong!”
Luo Xiaoxi knew she was wrong, dead wrong, but it was too late.
She wielded the knife at Qin Wei. “Let go of ! Even there is no hope for Su Yicheng and , I won’t marry you! Qin Wei, I’d rather be alone for the rest of my life than marrying a scoundrel. Are you clear?”
“...” Qin Wei’s eyes turned dim, and he said in low spirits, “Xiaoxi...” Luo Xiaoxi would not accept his apology, so, he could not think of any other words to say.
“Put your knife down! We’re police!”
Warning sounds ca from outside before two policen ca in with their guns aiming at Luo Xiaoxi.
“Soone reported to us that you got an attacker with a knife. Stay calm, miss, put your knife down. You may hurt others.” The policeman tried to persuade Luo Xiaoxi after finding her in an emotional state.
Luo Xiaoxi laughed staring at the dark barrel. From her voice, Qin Wei could tell she was desperate, sad, and mocking herself. He felt heartbroken for her. “Xiaoxi, put the knife down, please. You can beat hard, just don’t hurt yourself, okay?”
With a clattering sound, the knife fell on the ground from Luo Xiaoxi’s hand. Seeing this, the policen rushed in and took hold of Luo Xiaoxi at once. “Sir, she is my friend. This is our own business.” Qin Wei hurriedly explained.
“She went to your door with a knife and broke into your house, and even pointed the knife at you. This is absolutely lawbreaking,” said the police. “We must take you to our office.”

At this ti, Su Jianan was watching a TV drama at ho, so, when she received Luo Xiaoxi’s call, she could not react.
“Jianan, I can’t let my parents see like this.” Luo Xiaoxi’s voice was low. “I can only look for your help.”
Su Jianan stood up quickly. “Xiaoxi, don’t panic. I’ll be there for you in half an hour.”
After hanging the phone, the first thing Su Jianan could think was to ask Lu Boyan for help.
Lu Boyan was in the study upstairs. She rushed in without even knocking the door. “Lu Boyan!”
Lu Boyan had never seen Su Jianan look so helpless like this mont except for the night in the City G when she had a nightmare. He imdiately asked her, “What’s going on?”
“Xiaoxi was taken away by police.” Su Jianan was agitated. “She went to Qin Wei with a knife, and his neighbor called the police. Now, she is about to be detained.”
Lu Boyan frowned at her words. “Don’t panic. It’s not serious since she did not hurt anyone.”
“I have to go to the police office.” Su Jianan stared at Lu Boyan helplessly. “Could you...”
“I’ll go with you.” Before Su Jianan could finish her words, Lu Boyan stood up and took her downstairs holding her hand.
It was the first ti that soone around Su Jianan had been taken into the police office despite that she worked there. She was panicked because it was Luo Xiaoxi being taken away, but, she felt sohow relieved with Lu Boyan.
Lu Boyan’s black car headed forward on the road like a dragon swimming in the sea, and about forty minutes later, they arrived at the police office.
When Su Jianan finally saw Luo Xiaoxi, a stab went through her heart.
Eyes swollen from crying, Luo Xiaoxi looked lifeless and desperate, a look Su Jianan had never seen from her before.
Luo Xiaoxi cherished her hair the most and always took good care of it, but now, it looked untidy.
“Xiaoxi.” Su Jianan held her hands. “What happened? Did Qin Wei hurt you?”
When Luo Xiaoxi heard the words, her tears dropped down from her eyes like streams, and she looked like a doll who knew nothing but crying.
“Xiaoxi.” Su Jianan hugged her. “Please tell what happened. I’ll help you. If Qin Wei hurt you, I’ll let him pay.” Su Jianan realized the matter was serious, otherwise, Luo Xiaoxi would not have looked so sad.
“No, you can’t help .” Luo Xiaoxi cried out. “Jianan, I can’t solve this. It’s my fault, I’m so sorry...”
From Luo Xiaoxi’s regretting words, Su Jianan realized the thing was not what she had thought.
“Xiaoxi, what’s going on actually?” Su Jianan pursued the question hesitantly. “Is it... sothing about my brother?” Except for Su Yicheng, Su Jianan did not know anyone else who could make Luo Xiaoxi so.
Luo Xiaoxi explained the whole thing to Su Jianan in disjointed words while crying. The latter was shocked and overwheld after hearing it.
“No wonder she cried so bitterly. She made a big mistake, which disappointed my brother. She trusted the wrong person who betrayed her...
“She probably never thought Qin Wei would betray her. She is snapped under the double blow.”
“Jianan.” Luo Xiaoxi almost lost her voice in tears. “I hurt your brother and brought loss to Cheng An Group. Bla , rebuke , whatever you want, please.” Luo Xiaoxi spoke with her hands covering her chest. “I’m feeling so bad...”
Su Jianan hugged Luo Xiaoxi more tightly after hearing her words.
If soone else had hurt her brother, she might bla him or her, but, she would not bla Luo Xiaoxi, whose crying face almost broke her heart.
“Su Yicheng said he would not bla .” Luo Xiaoxi’s tears wetted Su Jianan’s shoulder. “But, he won’t care for anymore. Jianan, he broke up with before we could really start a relationship...” Luo Xiaoxi cried like a child who left their parents for the first ti.
Su Jianan knew Luo Xiaoxi was pained, and her eyes were wetted. She did not know what to say but just fondled her back.
When Luo Xiaoxi could not control her tears anymore, she buried her face on Su Jianan’s shoulder, wailing like a small animal.
Lu Boyan had gone to see the head of the police office as soon as he arrived, and when he ca out and saw Su Jianan and Luo Xiaoxi hugging each other, he walked over and said, “Jianan, we can take Xiaoxi back now.”
Luo Xiaoxi was supposed to be detained according to law. Su Jianan helped Luo Xiaoxi up without even thinking how Lu Boyan made her uncharged. “Xiaoxi, let take you ho.”
At this ti, Qin Wei walked over to them and tried to say sothing to Luo Xiaoxi, but Su Jianan stopped him. “Xiaoxi won’t be willing to hear your voice now.”
“Jianan, can you take care of Xiaoxi for tonight?” asked Qin Wei.
“For you?” Su Jianan sneered. “Xiaoxi is my friend; of course, I’ll take good care of her, but it’s not for you. Now, she has nothing to do with you.”
With a depressed smile, Qin Wei left the police office.
“Jianan.” Luo Xiaoxi called in a hoarse voice. “I want to go ho.”
Su Jianan wiped away Luo Xiaoxi’s tears. “Your ho or your apartnt?”
“My apartnt. I can’t let my parents see like this.” Luo Xiaoxi smiled bitterly. “They will be scared by .”
Su Jianan told Lu Boyan the address of Luo Xiaoxi’s apartnt after they got into his car, which was parked right at the gate of the police station. The black car slowly drew out into the traffic at a moderate speed.
Su Jianan let Luo Xiaoxi rest on her shoulder and hugged her tightly. “Xiaoxi, buck up. My brother will make everything right.”
However, they all knew Su Yicheng could only clean up after them but could not make up the loss.
“Mmm.” Luo Xiaoxi answered and closed her eyes, but Su Jianan knew she was awake and just wanted to clear her mind, so, she leaned head against her quietly.
Su Jianan helped Luo Xiaoxi into her room as soon as they finally arrived, and when she went out, she found Lu Boyan still in the living room.
She poured him a glass of water. “I want to accompany Xiaoxi tonight, is it ok for you?”
“Yes,” Lu Boyan replied. “Call if you need help.”
“Yes, thanks.” Su Jianan nodded. “Go ho and take a rest.”
When Lu Boyan was about to out the room, Su Jianan suddenly called his na. He turned around as Su Jianan threw herself into his arms.
“Jianan.” Lu Boyan fondled her hair. “It’s ok. Get yourself a good rest.”
Su Jianan hugged him tightly for several more seconds before letting him go. “I’ll.”
She saw Lu Boyan out and into the elevator and still did not want to go back in. Lu Boyan stared at her as he pressed the button to keep the elevator open. “Get back and lock the door. I can’t bear to see you watch leave.”
Su Jianan pursed her lips and closed the door. Just several seconds later, she opened the door again and he was still there.
Lu Boyan pulled her out of the room and kissed her on lips.
“Woo...” Su Jianan was caught unprepared and fell into Lu Boyan’s arms without a struggle.
Fortunately, Lu Boyan did not go too far and let go of her before long. “Go back and don’t co out again.” He was not sure he still wanted to leave if she opened the door again.
Su Jianan lowered her head shyly. “How did you know I would open the door again?”
Lu Boyan raised the corner of his lips and said, “I know everything in your mind.”
Su Jianan raised her head in surprise, her tender eyes glittering.
“Do you know I love you?”
She did not have the nerve to utter her question but just shut the door with a blushed face and ran into Luo Xiaoxi’s room.
Lu Boyan could hear her footsteps though standing outside. Sure that she would not co out again, he went downstairs and did not head for his villa in the suburban area but for an apartnt nearby.
Walking into Luo Xiaoxi’s room and seeing her on the bed, Su Jianan suppressed her shyness and joy and walked to her. “Xiaoxi, do you want to have a bath? I’ll go to fill the tub for you.”
Luo Xiaoxi nodded emotionlessly after a while.
Su Jianan filled the tub with water and pushed Luo Xiaoxi into the bath. She told her not to lock the door and that she would be right there waiting for her.
Luo Xiaoxi did not reject her request and took off her own clothes chanically before soaking herself into the water like a robot.
Su Jianan felt poignant for her. She went to the balcony of the living room and called Su Yicheng twice, but no one answered.
“That’s right. He must be busy with making up the loss now, not free to answer my call.”
About ten minutes later, the door of the bathroom was pushed open, and Luo Xiaoxi ca out clumsily dressed. Su Jianan went to her and tidied her dress before pushing her to sit on the sofa. “Wait for a minute”
She went into the kitchen and made Luo Xiaoxi a glass of hot milk. “Have so milk and then go to sleep.”
Luo Xiaoxi took the milk and asked, “Did your brother answer your phone?” She guessed Su Jianan had called Su Yicheng.
“...Nope.” Su Jianan shook her head. “He might go to sleep. Xiaoxi, how about you go to bed after drinking the milk?”
However, Luo Xiaoxi knew it was not true. How could Su Yicheng fall asleep after such terrible thing happened? He had to be busy now.
Nevertheless, she still drank up the milk chanically and went back to her room. She lay on the bed, staring blankly at the roof as if she were a soulless robot.
Su Jianan walked in and hugged Luo Xiaoxi beside her when saw her look. “Xiaoxi, have a sleep. Everything will be fine when you wake up tomorrow.”
“Is it so? Will everything be fine tomorrow?”
Luo Xiaoxi turned over and closed her eyes with her back toward Su Jianan.
Su Jianan fondled her back as if she were comforting a hurt child.
