On a distant street corner, the atmosphere inside an inconspicuous black sedan was palpably tense.

"Sir, Seraphina... oh, no, I an Seraphina Sterling—she just got into Justin Hale’s car!" Hughes had originally called her Seraphina, but ever since his phone was destroyed last ti, that nickna was now completely forbidden.

"I have eyes. I can see," Terrence Grant said, deftly twirling a sharp throwing knife in his hand. The sight made Hughes’s heart lurch with every rotation.

"Sir, should we follow them?" Hughes was terrified that the sharp, scalpel-sized throwing knife in Terrence Grant’s hand would fly straight into him.

’Just why has Sir gotten so into these dangerous weapons lately? It seems he started playing with throwing knives ever since Seraphina Sterling demonstrated her god-like accuracy in front of him. Seraphina Sterling, you are a true nace!’

"When did I say we should follow them? They can do whatever they want. What’s it to ?" Terrence Grant shot Hughes a look, the gleaming throwing knife in his hand spinning even faster.

Hughes’s heart skipped a beat in fright as he started the car. He glanced at the rearview mirror and couldn’t help but curse inwardly. ’If you don’t care what Justin Hale and Seraphina Sterling are up to, why are you still staring after their car? When did Sir beco so two-faced?’

But Hughes only dared to think this. He would never say it aloud. Otherwise, the glittering knife in Terrence Grant’s hand would surely and rcilessly find its way into his back.

Just as Hughes started the car to head back, Terrence Grant, who had been staring out the window the whole ti, suddenly spoke. "When did I say we were going back?"

’My intelligence is seriously inadequate,’ Hughes thought. Only now did he truly understand the popular saying among the rich scions of Aethelgard: "Never try to guess what Mr. Grant is thinking."

Hughes learned his lesson. He said nothing, quietly awaiting Terrence Grant’s orders.

"I’m in a good mood today. I feel like going for a drive," Terrence Grant said matter-of-factly. But his eyes were still fixed on the direction Justin Hale’s car had disappeared. No matter how slow Hughes was, he knew what that ant.

He made a U-turn and tailed Justin Hale’s car.

anwhile, things weren’t as calm between Justin Hale and Seraphina Sterling as they appeared on the surface.

"What would you like to eat?" Justin Hale asked, glancing at Seraphina Sterling, who had already regained her composure. ’She recovered so quickly! As expected, she’s not to be underestimated.’

"I doubt Mr. Hale went to all this trouble just to treat to lunch, did he?" In reality, Seraphina Sterling was nowhere near as composed as she looked. ’This is our first ti alone together,’ she thought. ’We’re less than fifty centiters apart. If I’m fast enough, I have a chance to take him out with one clean strike.’

A sharp throwing knife had already materialized in Seraphina Sterling’s right hand.

"Why couldn’t it be a simple invitation to lunch?" Justin Hale asked, freely exuding his gentlemanly warmth.

"Because I know better," Seraphina Sterling replied instinctively, without a second’s thought.

’When invited out in public by a man who’s handso, gentle, and rich, wouldn’t any other woman’s ego swell to bursting, like Willow Hale’s? Why is Seraphina Sterling as placid as a lake, without so much as a ripple? Her calmness and rationality are terrifying. Not even a grown man is this level-headed! Even they get carried away sotis!’

"I invited you, Miss Sterling, to discuss the matter of Philip Hale’s assets." Justin Hale parked the car by the Tollan River, where a full Western-style al had already been set up for them.

"You really are persistent, Mr. Hale. What makes you so certain I would sell Philip Hale’s assets to you?" Seraphina Sterling’s dining etiquette was more flawless than a textbook illustration.

Watching the two of them enjoying a pleasant al together by the river, Terrence Grant spun the knife in his hand even faster.
