Fu Yanhe carried Shen Yanhe back to the camp at the fastest speed.
Liu Fang was shocked by the sight of Shen Yanhe covered in blood and hurriedly ran to check on her.
The firearm used by Brian and the others was the most advanced in the country, and given the close range, even though Shen Yanhe wore a bulletproof vest, the bullet could penetrate it and hit her chest.
The bulletproof vest did alleviate much of the bullet’s impact and did not hit a vital organ.
"This won’t do!" Liu Fang said gravely after the examination, "Madam’s injury is too dangerous. The dical conditions here are too poor; there is significant risk in removing the bullet."
Moreover, Shen Yanhe was currently pregnant, and many dications could not be used for treating the wound.
"Arrange for soone to start the helicopter." Fu Yanhe took a deep breath, trying to calm down, but the hand that held Shen Yanhe’s waist trembled, betraying his inner turmoil.
"Depart imdiately for the largest hospital in Harman."
Liu Fang imdiately went to arrange for manpower.
Fu Yanhe looked down at Shen Yanhe, who lay pale and unconscious in his arms, and gently leaned his head against her forehead.
A surge of panic and fear overwheld him.
"I won’t let anything happen to you, Yanyan."
-
As Fu Yanhe was taking Shen Yanhe to the largest hospital in Harman, Gu Yingxi and Xiang Ling’an were also inford of her injury.
The two felt a swoon; Gu Yingxi even staggered, nearly falling to the ground.
Without asking why Shen Yanhe was injured, she handed over the captured mbers of the Immortal organization to Yi Fang and Wu Fang, then hurriedly took a plane to the Harman hospital.
Xiang Ling’an and Feng Jiao followed closely behind.
The helicopter was fast and reached the largest hospital in Harman in less than an hour.
However, the dical standards in Harman were even lower than inside the Great Xia country; many head doctors were hesitant to operate, fearing they might cause a fatality.
Just as Liu Fang was about to step in,
a young man with a tall stature, handso features, wearing gold-rimd glasses, and possessing a gentle deanor approached and said, "Let do it."
The young man looked towards Fu Yanhe, his voice calm, "I am quite skilled at dealing with bullet wounds."
"Are you a doctor at this hospital?" Fu Yanhe, holding Shen Yanhe and with wary, cold red eyes, asked.
"I am a doctor sent here for an exchange from the Great Xia country," the young man replied calmly and patiently. "So you can trust with her."
Upon hearing this, Fu Yanhe decisively handed Shen Yanhe over to him.
After a mont of thought, Fu Yanhe clenched his fist and said hoarsely, "She is also pregnant. If... if sothing goes wrong, please, you must save the adult first."
The young man, who had been about to change into a surgical gown, paused, turned his head with an inscrutable look towards Fu Yanhe and asked, "She’s pregnant? Yours? Who are you to her?"
"I am her husband."
Young man: "..."
The young man’s fist tightened then relaxed, he took one profound look at Fu Yanhe, said nothing, and proceeded to push Shen Yanhe into the ergency room.
Seeing the light in the ergency room turn on, Fu Yanhe’s tense muscles slightly relaxed.
It was only then that he realized his legs were so weak he could barely stand.
He leaned against the wall, slowly sat down on the ground, looked at the crimson blood on his hands, and took a deep breath.
His mind was filled with panic and dread as his gaze remained fixed on the door of the operating room without moving.
Fu Yanhe couldn’t imagine what he would do if sothing really went wrong with Shen Yanhe...
He truly would go mad.
When Xiang Ling’an and the others arrived, Shen Yanhe had not yet been wheeled out of the ergency room.
"What on earth happened?" Xiang Ling’an approached the sitting Fu Yanhe and demanded sternly, "Why was she injured? Weren’t you by her side? Why didn’t you protect her!"
Fu Yanhe closed his eyes in pain, his voice hoarse, "It’s my fault. I failed to protect her."
Xiang Ling’an gritted his teeth, about to say sothing else when,
Gu Yingxi stepped forward, grabbed him, and looked at Fu Yanhe with a face full of shock, "You... you’ve recovered?"
Fu Yanhe sat disheveled on the corridor bench, and humd softly.
Having been injected with a gene-strengthening drug, upon waking, he always felt a layer separated him from the world.
Part of his cognition and consciousness seed to have been peeled from his body, placed in a glass jar. No matter how he scread or struggled, he couldn’t escape from the glass jar.
His body retained only a few mories and instincts, and his emotions were violently aggressive.
Just like a rabid beast.
But after he attacked Fu Weizhi and then witnessed Shen Yanhe getting injured while protecting him, the glass separating his consciousness from his body shattered.
All his consciousness and cognition returned in that instant, accompanied by imnse pain and panic.
"It’s good that you’ve recovered," Gu Yingxi took a deep breath, trying to calm down, "Yanyan is blessed with great fortune; she definitely won’t be in trouble this ti."
Fu Yanhe did not respond, instead looking towards the direction of the ergency room.
Xiang Ling’an also didn’t know what else to say, so he simply squatted beside him, suppressing his anxiety as he waited.
Ti passed, second by second.
Another half hour went by, and the door to the ergency room finally opened.
The first to co out was a tall and straight young man, followed by Shen Yanhe, who was being pushed to a regular ward by a nurse.
Fu Yanhe quickly approached and asked, "Doctor, how is my wife?"
"It’s nothing serious," the young man removed his dical mask, his voice still gentle, "She was wearing a bulletproof vest. The bullet didn’t go in deep; it just bled a lot and looked frightening."
"Just remove the bullet, and then rest will suffice."
Only then did Fu Yanhe’s heart, which he had been carrying, finally settle, "Thank you, Doctor."
anwhile, Xiang Ling’an and Gu Yingxi, upon seeing the young man’s appearance, widened their eyes and opened their mouths, pointing at him, "You, you, you."
Xiang Ling’an blurted out, "Youngest brother?!"
"Xie Jiangzhi!" Gu Yingxi looked astonished, "What are you doing here?"
Indeed, the young man in front of them was Shen Yanhe’s elusive third senior brother.
Xie Jiangzhi.
"I rember, you were supposed to be in the Primitive Forest in Country D looking for a nearly extinct dicinal herb. How did you end up in Haman?" Xiang Ling’an approached him happily and patted his shoulder.
"Having you perform surgery on our junior sister really puts my mind at ease."
Apart from Shen Yanhe, Xie Jiangzhi was the most skilled in dicine among them.
With him here, Xiang Ling’an’s tense nerves instantly relaxed.
"Eldest brother, second sister," Xie Jiangzhi casually placed the dical mask into his pocket, his voice gentle, "I have already harvested the dicinal herb and sent it back to the country for our master to cultivate."
"I knew an old friend here in Haman who had a dicinal plant nearing maturity; I ca to see if he could save a seed."
"He fell ill and was hospitalized these past few days. I visited him, and just happened to encounter our junior sister."
Xie Jiangzhi paused, then lifted his hand and pointed at Fu Yanhe, who had followed Shen Yanhe’s stretcher, and asked calmly, "Do you guys want to explain sothing?"
"When did our junior sister get a husband?"
Xiang Ling’an: "..."
Gu Yingxi: "..."
Oh no, we forgot to tell the youngest brother that the junior sister got married!
