Half an hour later.

Song Shiwei, having finished her bath, sat in a chair staring out the window, lost in thought.

The tightly closed bedroom door was opened.

Qi Yunqian appeared at the doorway, changed into a different set of clothes, his hair slightly damp as if he had also taken a shower.

His eyes, deep and somber, fell upon Song Shiwei, who sat in the chair, unresponsive to his arrival, her gaze empty. A dull pain seized his heart.

The hand gripping the doorfra suddenly tightened, the veins on the back of his hand bulging, revealing his inner turmoil.

Looking at Song Shiwei like this, Qi Yunqian felt sowhat powerless.

He had no idea how to behave towards her in a way that would make her abandon the thought of leaving him.

It was only when he embraced her deeply that Qi Yunqian could briefly feel as though he truly possessed her.

Silence reigned in the room, neither of them spoke.

After an indeterminable amount of ti, Qi Yunqian’s low, hoarse voice slowly rose, "Dinner is ready, co out and eat."

Song Shiwei didn’t move.

Qi Yunqian’s eyes were bloodshot, his brows tainted with a heavy sullenness, and he asked in a cold tone, "Do you want to bring the food up here and feed you?"

His fingers slightly curled, in truth, he was quite looking forward to feeding Song Shiwei personally.

After all, he longed for any intimate contact with her now.

But clearly, Song Shiwei wouldn’t give him that chance.

Without a word, Song Shiwei stood up and walked right past him at the door.

Disappointnt flashed across Qi Yunqian’s face, but he quickly regained his composure and followed her to the dining room.

The table was set with four dishes and a soup, all of which were Song Shiwei’s favorites, even the rib and corn soup she loved to drink, sending a faint scent throughout the room.

Song Shiwei rely glanced at them before sitting down and started to eat without saying a word to Qi Yunqian.

Not once did they speak throughout the al.

Qi Yunqian felt suffocated, but seeing her enjoy the al, he didn’t speak and took a small soup bowl, ladled so soup, and placed it beside her.

Then he served himself so rice and began to eat.

He hadn’t eaten much today either, and now, watching Song Shiwei eat so deliciously, he couldn’t help but want so as well.

Most importantly, he wanted to have this al with her.

Their dinner was consud in heavy silence, the dining room filled with nothing but the sound of clinking dishes and utensils, void of conversation.

After the al, Song Shiwei drank a glass of water to moisten her throat.

Qi Yunqian’s gaze swept past the bowl of soup he had served her; it still sat quietly beside her, untouched by Song Shiwei.

It left a bitter taste in his mouth, and even the delicious food felt flavorless.

Qi Yunqian set down his utensils, his dark eyes tranquil as he asked in a deep voice, "Do you really want to leave this place?"

With a scornful laugh, Song Shiwei’s eyes shone with mockery as she retorted, "Director Qi, don’t pretend to be ignorant."

Stung by the mockery in her eyes, Qi Yunqian’s handso face darkened, and he said coldly, "I can let you go, and I won’t hold you back in the future, but I have one condition."

"We remarry."

Song Shiwei’s lips curled without emotion as she spat out two words, "Dream on."

Her crisp rejection caused Qi Yunqian’s expression to freeze instantly.

"I find it quite strange," Song Shiwei said, crossing her arms and leaning back in the chair, tilting her head slightly as she looked at Qi Yunqian.

"When we got married, you emphatically declared you would never love and that we could divorce at any ti."

"So why, now that we are divorced, do you put on this act of deep affection in front of and say that you love ?"

Uttering the word love, Song Shiwei couldn’t help but laugh, her eyes brimming with extre sarcasm, "President Qi, Qi Yunqian, is this really love, or are you just unable to accept failure?"

Qi Yunqian’s dark pupils stared at her, emotions churning so intensely they almost spilled out. His voice was hoarse as he asked, "What if I say, I truly love you?"

Song Shiwei’s face revealed a trace of disgust, and she scoffed, "Your so-called love is to imprison here with force and have your way with against my will?"

"That kind of love is terrifying. I can’t afford it."

Qi Yunqian’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he gazed deeply at her, "I know my actions have been too extre, but if we remarry, I’m willing to spend the rest of my life making up for my mistakes."

"Shiwei, can you give a chance to make ands?"

He had been extre, but he had no regrets.

If given another chance, he would still do the sa.

Otherwise, he would go insane.

Song Shiwei’s red lips curled emotionlessly as she coldly spat out two words: "No way."

"Remarrying is impossible, and giving you another chance is even more impossible."

"In my eyes now, you are nothing but a rotten person, and how could such a person ever truly reform?"

Hearing these heart-piercing words over and over, Qi Yunqian’s heart ached to numbness, incapable of causing any more tumult.

He closed his eyes, his tone icy, "Then I can only keep you locked up until you agree to remarry ."

He had plenty of ti to wear Song Shiwei down.

"If you refuse for a lifeti, then we’ll just keep this up for a lifeti." He opened his eyes, looking at Song Shiwei, his thin lips slightly curled, "In a way, it’s like spending a lifeti with you; that’s quite nice too."

"To be locked up by you for a lifeti," Song Shiwei murmured with a sigh, "Then I would rather be dead."

She had spoken her last sentence too quietly, and Qi Yunqian didn’t catch it. He frowned, looking at her and asked subconsciously, "What did you say?"

Song Shiwei slowly raised her head, giving Qi Yunqian a smile.

At this mont, Qi Yunqian had no idea that this smile would beco the greatest nightmare of his life.

"I said."

Song Shiwei slowly pulled a dagger from her embrace and without hesitation, stabbed it into her abdon, yet her face still bore a smile.

"I’d rather die than spend a lifeti with you."

The clothing on her abdon was instantly stained red with blood.

Qi Yunqian was struck with terror and practically threw himself towards her, "Shiwei!"

Song Shiwei turned pale from the pain in her abdon but as Qi Yunqian drew near, she suddenly shouted, "Don’t co any closer! If you do, I’ll stab a second ti!"

This was the only thod Song Shiwei had thought of to escape from Qi Yunqian’s clutches.

Even if she hated Qi Yunqian to her core, she couldn’t actually kill him.

She didn’t want to go to prison again because of this scum.

The Shifei option had already been discovered and eliminated by him; Song Shiwei had no other option.

She could only use her last bargaining chip—

Herself.

The self that Qi Yunqian still cared about at the mont.

Fortunately, when she was in prison, a female doctor who had cut a scumbag a hundred or so tis without it being fatal had told her where to stab so as to not be fatal.

Song Shiwei was putting that information to good use now.

Qi Yunqian imdiately stopped in his tracks, his face deathly pale, eyes nearly splitting, his heart in excruciating pain as he almost begged, "I won’t move, I won’t move. Just don’t hurt yourself anymore, okay? I’m asking you."

Song Shiwei was shivering from the pain, a dense cold sweat breaking out on her forehead, while the color from her lips slowly faded.

She stared coldly at Qi Yunqian, word by word saying, "Let leave."
