Qi Jingjing couldn’t make it due to so last-minute issues, and Qin Manxiang had entered the police station again.

The director, being very cautious, didn’t add any more participants, only retaining the original eight guests.

They were Shen Yanhe, Song Shiwei, Qi Zeyi, Su Qi, Yan Qi, Luo Yao, Yu Jiao, and Luo Tian.

The recording of the program was still a seven-day survival, with the rules being the sa as the last season, where the production team released tasks periodically to ensure the guests wouldn’t starve from the inability to find food.

On the first day, the director took the guests to book a hotel by the seaside for a day of rest before heading out to the deserted island the next day.

After placing her luggage in the room, Shen Yanhe sent a ssage to Fu Yanhe to report her safety.

Just as she was about to look for Song Shiwei to grab so food, she heard a domineering voice coming from the corridor outside.

Yan Qi, with a smug face: "Su Qi, you must be feeling terrible now, right? Isn’t it unbearable to watch the resources that should have been yours slip away right before your eyes?"

Su Qi, with an icy expression, asked, "What are you trying to say?"

Yan Qi, looking at his calm deanor, felt an inexplicable irritation and took two steps towards Su Qi, stretching out his finger to point at his chest: "Su Qi, it’s not the era that speaks through strength anymore, it’s popularity that does the talking."

"You’re washed up now, the company is planning to shelve you, and you’ve got no inspiration left for songwriting. For a ss like you, why would you shalessly cling to the entertainnt industry?"

Su Qi’s eyes harbored a trace of coldness as he lifted his hand, grabbed Yan Qi’s, and flung him aside, "A good dog doesn’t stand in the way, scram!"

Yan Qi stumbled from the push, and, with an ugly expression on his face, pointed at Su Qi: "Fine, Su Qi, you’re impressive! Let’s see how you’re going to get by without the support of the company!"

After speaking, Yan Qi glared at Su Qi malevolently and turned to leave.

Su Qi stood alone in the corridor, the dim light from above casting a shadow over him, adding a touch of solitude.

He silently watched the place where Yan Qi had left, then lifted his hand about to knock on Shen Yanhe’s door.

Before his hand could touch the door, Shen Yanhe opened it from the inside.

Su Qi instinctively looked up and t the eyes of Shen Yanhe standing at the door.

He paused, his face betraying a hint of discomfort, "Yanhe, you heard everything?"

Shen Yanhe nodded and explained, "The sound insulation here is poor. I heard what you guys said at my doorway, but I didn’t an to eavesdrop."

"It doesn’t matter if you heard, that’s just how the circle works. People will do anything for profit; I’m already accustod to it." Su Qi smiled, handing her the pickles and radishes he was carrying.

Before becoming a celebrity, he had so aspirations towards the entertainnt industry.

However, after truly experiencing the survival rules within this circle, he realized that it is a profoundly brutal and real world.

In this industry, there are no real friends. Artists who can generate profits get vigorously promoted by capital, while those who cannot are abandoned.

"I ca to give you these." Su Qi’s smile had a touch of shyness: "I pickled them myself, don’t look down on them."

Shen Yanhe glanced at the two jars of pickles in his hands, took them from him, then thought for a mont, "I’d like to ask you to sing the tenth anniversary song for ’Heavenly Dao’, would you be willing?"

Su Qi paused, his eyes widening slightly, as his heart began to pound violently, almost leaping out of his throat, his limbs tingling.

He swallowed hard and clenched his fist, "Yanhe, what do you an by that?"

"The tenth anniversary of ’Heavenly Dao’ isn’t just about the the song; their producer also booked for a commorative track. I have so influence there and can personally select soone to sing it," Shen Yanhe said as she walked into the room with the two jars of pickles, placing them on the simple coffee table, her gaze flickering with thought.

"If you don’t want to sing the commorative track, you can sing the the song instead."

It was evening outside by then, the sunset softly falling through the window onto the woman in the room.

She turned slightly to look at Su Qi, her gaze calm and even, "Do you want to?"

"Or rather, are you willing to just hand over the opportunity to him? Don’t you want to compete?"

Su Qi’s breathing beca sowhat rapid, the hand hanging by his side clenched into a fist, and his eyes gradually beca firm, ward with emotion, his voice rough, "I’m not content."

"Yanhe, I want to compete."

The efforts of day and night over the years, negated by others, tainted by unfounded rumors, resources snatched away by others—how could he be content?

How could he not want to fight for it?

"But, Yanhe," Su Qi tried to calm the excitent in his heart, looking at Shen Yanhe with furrowed brows, about to speak then hesitating, "Yan Qi has financial backers. If you go up against him, could it be dangerous?"

Shen Yanhe’s eyes smiled slightly, seriously comnting, "Don’t worry, he has a backer, but so do I."

Su Qi chuckled, "Yanhe, stop joking."

Who is qualified to be Yanhe’s backer?

Shen Yanhe’s eyebrows lifted slightly, "Just wait for my ssage later. For now, do you want to go eat seafood together? I’ll introduce soone to you."

Su Qi: "Sure."

-

The seafood in the coastal town was fresh.

Shen Yanhe brought Song Shiwei and Su Qi to a seafood restaurant by the street.

After ordering, while waiting for the food to arrive, Shen Yanhe and Song Shiwei briefly introduced Su Qi’s background.

Peeling an orange given free by the owner, Song Shiwei looked at Su Qi, "I know you; there’s a lot of negative press about you online, but you sing pretty well."

"Is your contract with your company ending soon? Interested in working with ?"

As she spoke, Song Shiwei handed the peeled orange to Shen Yanhe and smiled at Su Qi, "Our company offers artists pretty good terms."

Su Qi took a deep breath, looking at Song Shiwei sincerely, "My contract with the company expires at the end of this month. If Miss Song dares to sign , I’m willing to work with you."

"But I’m currently entangled with negative rumors. If Miss Song signs , it might be disadvantageous for the company."

"What’s a bit of negative press?" Song Shiwei stretched out her hand to pat Su Qi’s shoulder, her eyes narrowing with a smile, "Before our company goes bankrupt, the movie queens we have nurtured have also been through widespread criticism online. Didn’t she reach the top regardless?"

"Let’s exchange contact information then." Song Shiwei took out her phone, displayed a QR code, "Contact when your contract expires at the end of the month."

Su Qi scanned it with his phone and added her contact, "Okay."

At that mont.

Not far from the restaurant, on the beach, Qi Yunqian and Jiang Luoshu were passing by.

Qi Yunqian’s brows were furrowed, a trace of impatience in his eyes, he walked briskly forward while Jiang Luoshu pantingly followed behind: "Mr. Qi, please slow down."

Qi Yunqian suddenly stopped in his tracks, his gaze intently fixed towards the direction of the restaurant, his hand by his side clenched into a fist, veins bulging on the back of his hand.

Jiang Luoshu nearly collided with Qi Yunqian’s back, she quickly stopped and, puzzled, followed his gaze: "Mr. Qi, what’s..."

And with that look, she saw the scene of Song Shiwei and Su Qi exchanging WeChat information.
