Half an hour later.

Grandfather Yan’s heartbeat gradually beca stronger, and his breathing stabilized, successfully pulling him out of danger.

Grandfather Yan opened his eyes groggily.

Shen Yanhe held up a finger and waved it back and forth in front of him. His voice, muffled by the mask, said, "Grandfather, look here."

Grandfather Yan followed the moving finger with his eyes unconsciously, gradually bringing his vision into focus.

Seeing Shen Yanhe, who was bent over by the bed, he paused, opened his mouth, but no sound ca out.

"Not being able to speak is only temporary, it will be better after you wake up," Shen Yanhe, seeing that Grandfather Yan’s awareness had returned to normal, felt relieved and said gently, "For now, get so sleep and you’ll be better when you wake up."

Grandfather Yan’s eyes slowly blinked, and soon he fell asleep again, exhausted.

After checking Grandfather Yan’s body again and making sure he had been revived,

Shen Yanhe then left the operating room with the Director Deng and Doctor Qiao, still processing their newly acquired knowledge of traditional Chinese dicine. The doctors who had assisted her in the resuscitation looked at her with even more fervent admiration.

After leaving the operating room.

The doctors who had initially assisted in resuscitating Grandfather Yan couldn’t help themselves, their gazes at Shen Yanhe now full of respect and frenzy, "Miss Shen, you really are amazing."

"Oh no, I’m just an ordinary doctor," Shen Yanhe smiled and asked, "Has Grandfather Yan’s blood been tested?"

She had just reviewed Grandfather Yan’s dical records and the various heart-related tests he had undergone before.

The reports showed that his heart was problem-free.

Yet, he had chronic pain in the chest area, with each occurrence more painful than the last.

The blood tests also showed no issues.

However, when Shen Yanhe was administering an injection and cleaning Grandfather Yan’s wound earlier, she noticed the blood that welled up was black and, upon close sll, detected a strange, fishy odor.

Shen Yanhe decisively asked Director Deng and others to take a blood sample and send it to a trustworthy doctor for testing, instructing him to guard it and not let anyone else near.

"Tested, it’s tested!" The doctor who personally took the blood for testing squeezed in with the report, "Miss Shen, this is Grandfather Yan’s blood test report."

Shen Yanhe took the report and looked down at it carefully.

Upon seeing the familiar substance na in the report, her eyes flickered slightly, a hint of realization sweeping across her gaze.

As expected, Grandfather Yan’s "illness" had been manufactured.

Among the crowd, a doctor wearing a mask glanced at the report in Shen Yanhe’s hands and quietly slipped away.

-

Outside the hospital room, the atmosphere was tense.

Yan Yangwen, Yan Yao, and Yan Daishan were under Hang Mushan’s watch, the three sitting grim-faced on a stone bench.

Yan Yi leaned against the railing in the hallway, staring intently at the firmly closed door.

Hang Mushan, bored to death, yawned loudly.

Three hours had passed, and it was gradually getting dark, but there was still no movent inside.

Yan Daishan, harboring a bit of schadenfreude, yet with an utterly worried expression, said, "It’s been so long without any news; what if Grandfather has been killed by Shen Yanhe’s treatnt?"

Yan Yangwen was already restless and boiling with anger. Upon hearing Yan Daishan’s words, he completely lost his temper, pointing at Yan Yi and erupting, "Yan Yi, you’re a total disgrace! If your grandfather dies, it’s all your fault! A jinx! A disaster! If I had known you would turn out like this, I would have strangled you the mont you were born!"

Just as his words ended,

the door creaked open.

Yan Yi’s expression slightly relaxed. Hang Mushan quickly went forward, "Boss! How did it go?"

Having taken off her white coat, Shen Yanhe ca out lazily yawning and gently glanced at Yan Daishan and Yan Yangwen, who was glaring at her with a face full of loathing, and said, "Don’t worry, he’s not dead, he’s out of danger now."

She did not directly reveal the details of the blood report, planning to inform Hang Mushan through mobile ssaging later on so he could convey it to Yan Yi.

Yan Yangwen frowned in disbelief, "Out of danger? How is that even possible?"

So many doctors had tried to save the old man from the edge of death but failed.

How did the situation change just after her arrival?

Yan Daishan’s face turned even sourer. She silently shrunk behind Yan Yangwen, not daring to speak anymore, afraid of being proven wrong again.

On hearing this, Yan Yi’s lifted heart finally settled back down.

He didn’t pay any mind to Yan Yangwen and sincerely bowed to Shen Yanhe, "Thank you, Miss Shen."

"No need for thanks. The dical fee is thirty million. Rember to transfer it to my card."

Yan Yi let out a wry smile and nodded, "Okay."

"It’s getting late. I’ll head back now. Call anyti if the patient’s condition worsens." Shen Yanhe looked at the darkening sky and stepped toward the exit.

"Boss, let see you off." Hang Mushan trailed behind her like a shadow.

Shen Yanhe pushed him away with a hand to his face, "No need, soone is here to pick up."

Hang Mushan’s face got squished, and with difficulty, he saw Wu Fang waiting outside for Shen Yanhe. He could only watch regretfully as she left.

-

When they left Xianya Residence at 7 p.m., the sky had gradually darkened and one streetlight after another lit up.

Upon reaching the city center, the evening food stalls were already set up, filling the air with various appetizing slls.

Relaxing after being tense all afternoon, Shen Yanhe’s stomach growled.

She hadn’t eaten much this afternoon and was indeed a bit hungry.

Looking out, her eyes brightened slightly upon spotting a stall selling candied chestnuts, "Wu Fang, stop the car. I’m going to buy sothing."

Wu Fang parked the car by the street, turned his head, and asked Shen Yanhe, "Madam, would you like to go and buy it for you?"

"No need." Shen Yanhe opened the car door and got out. "I’ll just get so candied chestnuts. I’ll be quick."

Shen Yanhe closed the car door behind her and headed to the candied chestnuts stall.

The stall was run by a relatively young couple with a little girl around five years old accompanying them.

The stall was quite popular. The man handled the chestnuts while the woman took care of the weighing and money, handing the cash to the little girl.

The little girl, with a cute stern face, carefully tucked the money into a pouch around her neck.

Shen Yanhe stood queuing at the periphery of the stall.

Just as she steadied herself, her phone in her pocket vibrated.

She took out her phone and saw it was a ssage from Fu Yanhe.

Shen Yanhe’s eyes curved up, and her slender fingers were about to reply when suddenly a commotion broke out behind her, followed by shouts of "Get out of the way!!"

Shen Yanhe’s eyes narrowed sharply, and she turned abruptly only to see a black sedan heading straight towards her direction.
