Shen Yanhe scrutinized the man intently.

The upper half of the man’s face was covered by an Asura mask, his exposed eyes calm and steady, quietly observing her.

The lower half of his face, bare to the world, had delicate lines; his thin lips were beautifully shaped, looking especially kissable.

The more she looked at this half of his face, the more familiar Shen Yanhe found it.

Fu Yanhe’s deep eyes gently and calmly t hers, his thin lips curving slightly, "What are you looking at?"

Hearing his voice again.

Shen Yanhe slightly faltered, ultimately lowering her gaze and smiling softly at him, "Looking at you."

Fu Yanhe’s gaze towards her suddenly darkened.

"I’m a bit curious," she leaned slightly closer to him, her soft, white, delicate fingers silently touching the strap of the mask tied behind his head.

"What does the man I had a fleeting encounter with really look like, so..."

Shen Yanhe’s voice contained a smile, "My apologies."

As her words fell, her fingertips suddenly hooked the string holding the Asura mask, effortlessly pulling it away.

As she pulled it off, her body tensed, vigilantly watching the man, fearing he would suddenly erupt and shoot her.

But he did not.

The man remained quiet, even sowhat indulgently allowing her to pull off the mask string.

With the string’s restraint gone, the Asura mask fell off accordingly.

Shen Yanhe instinctively turned her head to look, and upon seeing the face that was now fully exposed before her, her mind buzzed and went blank.

How could it be him?

Why would it be him?

The man she had forced herself upon turned out to be Fu Yanhe?

While Shen Yanhe was shocked, she harbored a hint of relief she couldn’t imdiately recognize.

Fu Yanhe looked at her with deep, calm eyes, even smiling slightly at her, his clearly defined fingers lightly holding the Asura mask.

"So,"

"are you satisfied with what you’ve seen?"

"Miss Shen."

"..."

The room imdiately fell into silence.

Shen Yanhe stared blankly at him, her mind a blank, unable to react for a long ti.

When she finally ca to her senses, only she and Fu Yanhe remained in the room; his two bodyguards had left at so point.

Shen Yanhe straightened up and took several steps back.

She took a deep breath, removed her cat face mask, and looked at Fu Yanhe with complex eyes, her voice rough, "The man in the room that night... was it you?"

Fu Yanhe gave a slight nod, "It was ."

He explained, "That night, I was suffering from poisoning and resting in the room when you suddenly barged in and forced yourself on ."

He looked at Shen Yanhe, his eyes a deep black, "You forced yourself on , then you ran away, not taking responsibility."

"Shen Yanhe, I was very angry at the ti."

His tone was very calm, yet it conveyed a hint of grievance in Shen Yanhe’s ears.

"..."

Shen Yanhe’s heart, filled with complexity, suddenly felt guilty.

Indeed, she was at fault in this matter.

Yet now, it seed Fu Yanhe didn’t intend to bla her.

He didn’t seem to want to throw her into the sea to feed the sharks.

She gripped the cat face mask tightly, her lips pursed as she explained, "At that ti, my third uncle ssaged to co over, I feared sothing had happened to Xiao Huai, so I didn’t wait for you to wake up... I’m sorry..."

Fu Yanhe looked at the distance between him and Shen Yanhe, his dark eyes watching her, then suddenly interrupted her, his voice cool and detached, "Are you sure you want to apologize to from that far away?"

"Shen Yanhe, your apology doesn’t seem sincere."

Shen Yanhe fell silent, her body slightly stiff as she stood rooted to the spot.

She admitted it.

When she discovered that the man with whom she had shared a night of passion was Fu Yanhe.

Being in front of him, Shen Yanhe felt a bit uncomfortable.

The mont she saw him, her heartbeat would gradually quicken.

It was as if she was sick.

She then recalled the words she had said to Fu Yanhe just before.

"Compared to my husband, you fall far short."

And the nonsense she had previously spouted to Fu Yanhe, the breakup fling with her ex-boyfriend...

Shen Yanhe closed her eyes in despair, her embarrassed toes curling as if etching out a three-bedroom apartnt, and she instantly wanted to live on another planet.

It was embarrassing, too embarrassing.

She simply couldn’t face this kind of embarrassnt.

Seeing that she hadn’t moved for a long ti.

A trace of helplessness flashed in Fu Yanhe’s dark eyes; his pale, slender hand landed on the wheelchair button, wanting to propel the wheelchair closer to her.

Shen Yanhe pursed her lips, not waiting for him to co, she took the initiative to step forward to his side.

He looked up at her, suddenly stretched out his hand to grasp her fair wrist, and pulled her into his arms.

This ti, Shen Yanhe compliantly sat on his lap, leaning entirely into his embrace.

The two were closely intertwined.

"Shen Yanhe," Fu Yanhe’s warm breath fell on her ear, causing a shiver to run through her body.

Images of that night’s desperate entanglents with Fu Yanhe uncontrollably flashed through Shen Yanhe’s mind.

Her voice trembling, she said, "Hmm, I’m here."

As he embraced her warm, soft body again, Fu Yanhe distinctly heard a sigh arising in his heart.

He held her completely in his arms, his palm thodically reaching for her delicate fingers, interlocking with hers.

"What you have to say to isn’t, ’I’m sorry,’ it’s not an apology," Fu Yanhe turned his head, gently planting a kiss at her temple, "but to take responsibility for ."

Shen Yanhe’s breath halted abruptly, instinctively lifting her head to look at him.

Fu Yanhe looked down, his dark, deep eyes eting her gaze, "It was you who defiled , you must take responsibility."

Shen Yanhe: "..."

She looked at Fu Yanhe with indescribable emotions, pursed her lips, and said quietly, "But that day, it was my first ti..."

"It was also my first ti," Fu Yanhe replied unashadly, directly confronting her, "Besides you, I haven’t been with any other won."

Shen Yanhe, flustered by his frankness, couldn’t help but raise her hand to cover his lips, "Alright, alright, I know, don’t talk anymore."

"Am I not responsible for you now? We’re married, and you’re all mine."

Fu Yanhe’s gaze suddenly grew intense, the hand on her waist tightened montarily, yet he still controlled his strength not to hurt her.

He bowed his head, getting closer to Shen Yanhe, foreheads touching, his eyes revealing a trace of possessiveness, he asked her, "Are you mine?"

Shen Yanhe’s eyelashes trembled, her lips slightly pursed, "What else? We’re, we’re married..."

Though the marriage was sowhat hasty, she was indeed his wife now, in na.

Fu Yanhe gazed deeply at her, slowly exhaling, applying slight pressure with his hand gripping her slender waist.

"Miss Shen," he asked in a voice neither too soft nor too heavy, "may I kiss you?"

"I can’t hold back anymore."

Shen Yanhe was montarily dazed, instinctively lifting her head to look at him.

Just as she was about to ask him what he couldn’t hold back,

her lips suddenly ward, and all words vanished between their lips and teeth.

He kissed her intently and forcefully, turning Shen Yanhe’s initially clear mind into mush.

It was only amidst the haziness that she finally realized.

What he ant by saying he couldn’t hold back was this.
