Olivia’s point of view

I took the cookies out of the oven and was about to prepare them when the doorbell rang. I furrowed, especially since my mother told she would bring Gavin ho at 3 pm, but when I checked my wristwatch, it was 1:30 pm. I ignored it, thinking it was just the mail guy, but when the doorbell rang continually and aggressively, I removed my mittens and rushed to the front door without removing my apron.

The doorbell continues and I’m not expecting any visitors today since Daniel is out of town for three days, and he won’t co back until Thursday. I grabbed the doorknob and opened it with a smile, but my smile soon shattered when I saw my unexpected guest. Gabriel. He went in without my permission and looked around as if he was looking for sothing, or maybe soone.

"You are trespassing, Gabriel."

"Where is he?" He questioned.

I frowned, "Who are you looking for?"

"My son. I’m looking for Gavin, Olivia."

I chuckled, "Are you still delusional? I told you he’s not your son, so stop this nonsense and leave my house."

"I’m not leaving this house until you tell where he is, Olivia. I know he’s mine and there’s no reason for you to deny it," he insisted.

"How can you tell?"

He showed a docunt, causing to get intrigued by its content. I’m hesitant to take it, especially since I don’t know what’s inside that is waiting for . Gabriel took my hand and put it on my palm, making stare at him.

"What am I going to do with this?" I asked.

"Read it," he said.

Out of curiosity and confusion, I opened it. I started reading the content of that docunt and widened after seeing the result was 99.99%. It is Gabriel and Gavin’s DNA test, and they are accurate. My heart pounds faster, especially since I don’t know how I got away with this proof he gave .

I crumpled the paper and threw it at him, "That’s not true. You tampered with that result, so you could have custody of my son, who isn’t yours."

"Tampered with it? That’s ridiculous, Olivia. I play fair and I will never do that. I know he’s my son, and I’ll do anything to prove that. I waited five years for us to et again, and I’m not letting you escape the way you did before."

"We had one night mistake, Gabriel. It’s nothing but a one-night mistake, and it’s impossible for to get pregnant, so enough with your nonsense!" I raised my voice, hoping he would stop pestering with my son’s identity.

Silence prevailed between us. He was staring at with those deep blue eyes, and I felt uncomfortable. I can still rember that night, and everything was still vivid. That one night changed , especially after I got pregnant. I tried my best to hide my son from him, but I didn’t know he found a way to test my son’s DNA.

"Why are you denying the fact that he’s my son?" He inquired.

"I’m not denying it, Gabriel. That’s the truth," I lied.

"I have a right to et my son," he murmured.

I scoffed, "Seriously? I would give you that right if he’s your son, but he’s not. Perhaps you mistook for soone else, Gabriel. We don’t know if you slept with another woman after that night—" he cut off.

"I didn’t."

"I beg your pardon?"

"I didn’t sleep with anyone after that night. I think of you like crazy and you ss with my mind every day. That’s why I used all my power to find you and discovered you were pregnant. Unfortunately, you are already gone and I found out your mother is my dad’s girlfriend."

I was stunned by the information he told . "You knew? You know that I am my mother’s daughter?"

"Yes. You underestimate my will, Olivia."

I clenched my fist secretly, and I couldn’t believe that he acted like a fool. I thought he didn’t know and I can’t get away with this. How could I keep denying the fact that he’s Gavin’s father, and I’m afraid to ruin my mother’s happiness?

"Leave," I mumbled.

"Olivia."

"I said leave! Gavin is not your son and I will keep telling you that because—" he cut off again and this ti using his lips.

He pressed against the wall, holding my wrist as I tried to push him away. He kissed and his lips reminded of everything that night. Sothing inside awakens, and I don’t want to make another mistake. Not now. My mother almost had her happiness, and if the people found out that Gabriel is my son’s father, things would be hard for us to deal with.

I used all my power to push him away, and without hesitation, I slapped him. He stood there like my slap isn’t hard enough, even though his cheek turned red. He faced with eagerness to find the truth, and sohow I felt terrified. I looked away because I couldn’t stand his stares.

"I’m not going to repeat myself again, Gabriel. Leave my house before I call the police and our parents will deal with your nonsense," I warned him.

He moved closer to , causing to flinch in my standing position. "I will know the truth and once I do, I will not make you escape again. Not again."

That’s all Gabriel said before opening the door, but he stopped when my mother appeared along with my son. I looked at them in horror and I hope my mother didn’t hear anything that will ruin her trust in , especially since I didn’t tell her about my son’s father.

"Mom! How long have you been standing there?" I approach them in a hurry and take Gavin from her hand.

"We just arrived. Why do you look scared, Olivia? Is sothing wrong?" She asked, looking at Gabriel.

"Uh, no! Actually, I was hoping you didn’t hear our plan for your honeymoon. Gabriel and I are planning sothing special," I lied again.

My mother sighed in relief and smiled at his step-son, "Is that true?"

"Yes, mom."

"Aww, that’s sweet. Anyway, I bought a cake on the way here, and since you’re already here. Why don’t you stay and have a snack with us?"

"No!" I disagree.

My mother turned to in confusion. I cleared my throat and explained, "I an, he’s leaving. Right, Gabriel?"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, he’s sure, Mom." I took his hand and pulled him away from them before taking him to his car.

I smiled at my mother and son before facing and said, "Don’t co back and keep what we discussed hidden. I don’t want my mother to know about your accusations, and I don’t want to see your face again. I’m doing my best to be kind to you, Gabriel. I’m trying to adjust to our life after what happened five years ago, so I’m expecting you to do the sa."

I swirl around and march away, but stop halfway through before turning to him, "This is going to be the last ti, Gabriel. I’m not answering any of your stupid questions next ti." After that, I assisted my mother and son inside the house before Gabriel changed his mind and joined us for an afternoon snack and it hard for .
