Olivia’s point of view
"Mr. Harris will be fine. We stitched his wound back after it was open because of the impact, but everything is under control now." The doctor assured that Gabriel will live.
I can’t afford for him to die. My mother will kill , especially since he is my step-father’s son and my mother will scold for being too warfreak.
I smiled at the doctor and replied, "Thank you for letting know. But why did he faint?"
"Well, he has blood phobia. I shouldn’t disclose this information to you, but you seed close to the patient. Anyway, I will prescribe him so antibiotics and he will be okay."
"Thank you again," I said.
The doctor nodded before leaving. I open the door and head in, surprised to see that Gabriel is already awake. The anesthesia was probably already gone. I went to the couch to check the dicine he needed, especially since he is my responsibility.
"I don’t want to be a burden, Olivia. You can leave and focus on your business," he said. "Besides, I’m old enough to take care of myself."
I exhaled and answered, "I should’ve but I will not leave you alone with your crazy fiance. Besides, I have my secretary. She will send all the etings I need to attend tomorrow."
"I’m sorry," he murmured, causing to stop and look at him in confusion.
I furrowed, "Sorry for what?"
"Well, first and foremost, for Catherine’s very obsessive behavior. Second, for bringing such a problem and third, for being a burden."
I chuckled, "You are not a burden. You’re just lucky I’m not that busy. Anyway, my mom and your dad haven’t updated yet. I started to think my mother was keeping hanging like she wanted to get mad at her."
"That’s my fault," he said.
"I know. You don’t have to tell because I know my mother won’t do such a thing without sobody’s help. So."
I rose and went to him. His bandage was fresh but I can still rember what happened to him yesterday.
"I hate that you know I’m afraid of blood," he murmured.
I laughed softly, "There’s no need to be shy. I am afraid of insects like cockroaches."
"Glad to hear we have similarities. I thought I will be embarrassed for the rest of my life and pretend like I’m a tough guy," Gabriel jokes.
We laughed together but sohow I stopped. He was smiling at before he reached for my hand and my heart skipped. I should’ve removed his hand from mine, but sothing inside was disagreeing with my brain. Our eyes locked to each other like he was talking to with it, I can feel the room falling in intense atmosphere as our skin touch.
Gabriel tracing my face like he was rembering it. My heart race, and I don’t know why. His skin against send chills to my spin and that is wrong. It is so wrong... But why my heart and brain allying against ? Why I can’t avoid it?
And then, he reached for my lips. He kissed and this ti, I’m not protesting. I responded to his kisses, getting under the spell of his lips and didn’t know how to stop. We move our lips in symphony, feeling the fire within wake up. He held my waist and pulled to his bed without cutting our kisses, and now I’m on his lap.
This is wrong.
This is not supposed to happen.
I should’ve stopped this.
But how?
How can I stop this if my heart is falling deeper to soone I shouldn’t have.
My lips are betraying . I can’t stop.
We move our lips like we’re longing for it, hungry, and want more than that. He held my waist closer, and I wrapped my arms around his neck. His hand on my chest, moving, sending warmth to my body. I can feel the electric wave sending to my veins. I should have stop! I have to. Wake up, Olivia! You are making a mistake—a terrible mistake!
He held the back of my head, assisting with his uncontrollable lips. I drowned. I am under his spell when suddenly a knock brings back to reality, causing to push him away and jump off his bed. Later on, Daniel headed in with a smile that made feel guilty. His sweet face made want to be eaten by the floor in sha and regret.
"Daniel, hi!" I went to him and he kissed on the cheek. "I didn’t know you will co here. What a surprise."
Daniel heads in and shows the basket of fruit he brought, "I brought these fruits to help you heal, Gabriel. How are you doing? Is the cut deep?"
"Thanks, Daniel. I’m doing fine and can go ho anyti now. How did you know about what happened?" Gabriel asked.
"Well, Olivia told . She was so worried and thankful for what you’ve done, so in return she wanted to take care of you. Which is very sweet since you are going to be family soon."
"Thank you, my love..." I murmured.
Daniel hugged, "No biggie. Anything for my favorite girl."
The atmosphere felt uncomfortable. I can’t look at Gabriel directly, especially since he almost made commit a sin. Well, I did it. I committed a sin. I’m scolding myself for being so easy to get carried away.
This is my fault.
My fault.
"Can we talk privately?" Daniel whispered.
I smiled and nodded. I faced Gabriel and said, "I have to go. Your secretary will be here any second now, Gabriel."
"Sure. Have fun," he said.
I frowned before going out with Daniel. I ignored what he said as we walked on the hallway, approaching the elevator.
"Olivia," he held my hand to stop . I faced him with confusion, "What is it?"
"We haven’t officially discussed our relationship since we ca here, and I know I shouldn’t have asked you about it since I already made my vow on waiting for you. But when you told your mother I am the father of your child, I’ve been thinking about it lately."
I sighed softly, held his hand tightly and looked at his eyes. Daniel has been by my side ever since I arrived at New York to start a new life, and raise my son alone. He beca my son’s father despite not being blood related. Daniel showed his affection for my son, and I want him to stop waiting without assurance.
"I can see your loyalty and affection. I know I should have discussed those things with you, and help you stop worrying about it." I let out a deep sighed and added, "I introduce you as my son’s father to stop them from criticizing since having a son without a father will be a controversy in Mr. Harris’s reputation. So, in order to prevent them from thinking my son is a fruit of mistake, I introduce you as my son’s dad."
"If that’s fine with you, Daniel..."
"Of course! When I fall in love with you, I love your son too. You are my world, Olivia. You’re my universe," he muttered, touching my cheek.
Yes, I’m guilty. I felt like cheating on him.
"Uhm, Daniel. I know I told you to wait until I’m ready to commit to a relationship, but..."
"But what?" He inquired.
"It’s been years since you already prove your affection to . You’ve been good to my son, and never fail to show how much I an to you. Sohow, I felt alive and love. You wake up, Daniel." I don’t know why I suddenly saying this words to him. Perhaps I’m guilty because of that kiss.
Or maybe I felt horrible.
I don’t know. I’m confused with my own decisions.
That kiss was a mistake. But I... I want it too...
Daniel reach for my hand, he kissed it with so much love that made my heart ache for a bit. I felt like he don’t deserve —deserve soone unfaithful like . "I will do anything for you and Gavin. Ever since I t you, I know I wanted to be with you."
The sparkle on his eyes are making feel even more regretful with my stupid actions.
"Is that all you wanted to say, my love?" He inquired.
I force a smile before swallowing, trying to find the right words. "Daniel..."
"What is it, Liv?"
"My answer is yes."
He frowned and was surprised when he realized what I ant. "Really? Wait, really? You an, yes? As in yes?"
I chuckled, "Yes, Daniel. I will be your girlfriend. After all, it’s ti."
Daniel hugged in excitent, "Thank you! Thank you so much! You have no idea how much you made happy today, Olivia."
I hope my decision will help my heart change. I can’t commit another sin. Not with Gabriel.
