Chapter 94: Darcero Beach Fest

A few days have passed since the incident. Everything is back to normal now and everything is peaceful. Elaina is back to earning money for the house repair once again since she blew most of the money for the repairs for the gate and the fence that was destroyed when her parents invaded the farm and forcibly broke inside. She is torn that the money that was ant for the repairs was imdiately used up for the gate and the fence.

She didn’t use wood for the fence but instead used iron materials for both the fence and the gate for it to withstand much longer than normal so in the end, Elaina is back to square one in terms of the repairs needed for the house. The materials for the gate and fence were much more expensive than Elaina thought it would cost and she cried inside and inwardly cursed everyone who destroyed the previous fence and gate.

The fence is much sturdier now compared to before so it won’t be easily breached by anyone unless they are strong or they can just phase through the fence and gate.

With all of the money lost in the process, Elaina will have to continue saving up to have her expenses recovered.

At the mont, Elaina is currently enduring the sumr heat. It hasn’t rained for quite a while and the scorching heat is enough to cook an egg if soone tried to crack one and put the yolk on a rock under the sun. It’s hot and she wanted to reduce her engagent under the sun to a bare minimum as much as she can.

But that changed when she saw the ssenger crane drop by her mailbox and insert a letter inside. Elaina waited for the bird to leave before she checked the mailbox and saw what it was all about.

-----------

"We are cordially inviting you and your family to our annual Darcero Beach Fest that will be happening next week!

This festival is first done to commorate the opening of the beach for everyone to swim but due to the traditions, we decided to use it as a celebration festival instead which lasts for a week to beat the heat of sumr and enjoy the swimming season of the beach. We will be hosting a variety of events that many people will enjoy, both young and old, rich and poor that will allow everyone to relax and have fun. It’s not a mandatory festival but we will be glad if we see you there. Prepare your best swimsuits, fishing gear, and a few swimming gear for we will enjoy this sumr to the fullest!"

------------

Elaina’s eyes lit up. Just as when she thought she didn’t have any good idea of what to do to beat the sumr heat, the festival rolled around. Knowing that the festival was coming, Elaina decided to tell the girls about this matter and to see whether they were willing to participate in this upcoming week. She is also excited since the festival that is held by the sea is sothing that she has not experienced before.

"Hey guys, looks like the beach will soon be open for the public starting next week with a festival for the beach opening happening. Do you guys wanna join? We might need to purchase so swimsuits if that is the case."

"Beach? Oh, was it this ti of the year?" Princess Margaux swiftly stood up after hearing Elaina’s words.

"Swimming season? Does that an, we can go to the beach and have a good swim there in this hot weather?" Julia’s eyes also lit up hearing this.

"Princess, do you know what usually happens during this week? I know you people don’t usually have ti to relax due to the matters royalties usually have to do but perhaps you got so idea on what attractions and things might happen in this one?"

"We participate in this event every year. Our parents like to join in to commorate this event since Father likes to surf and swim in the ocean. Mother likes to participate in many events as well, making this quite an event where the royalty can mingle with the populace, allowing people to also know that even us royalty are just normal people as well and like to have fun too."

"Isn’t that dangerous? Don’t you think that is the best ti for assassins to strike?"

"We know, but according to Father, we should prioritize socializing and also interacting with the populace to know that even the royalties are not selfish and they still care even if they are part of the higher caste of the society."

Elaina kind of envies the way Princess Tabatha’s parents think. If only her parents were at least similar to them, maybe she wouldn’t have many problems with them in the first place.

"Anyways, you are asking about the events that would be happening there right? Well, it usually changes depending on the situation and whether the people have sothing that they have thought to be fun to incorporate into this festival but the most consistent I know is the Fishing competition, the fire dance at night, the swimming competition, and the recent one that got added and are also one that received quite a lot of positive feedback is the seafood soup that will allow the people to cook the fishes that are captured during the Fishing competition and share it to everyone."

Elaina was surprised that the event seed to contain multiple festivals instead of just one reason why and based on what Princess Tabatha said, it seems that what she ntioned might not just be the events available but many others as well as this will be needed to be stretched till the end of the week.

"Looks like we have a good date to go next week then. With how hot the weather is right now, having a good swim in the ocean can also help us cool off," Elaina said, also excited to partake in the events.

"But Sis, you are pregnant. Are you sure it is a wise thing to swim while you are pregnant? Isn’t this so kind of risky stuff?" Julia suddenly interrupted Elaina’s daydreaming, causing her to frown.

"Really?"

"Yeah. I read in one of the books before about pregnant won and how to properly care for them. According to it, pregnant won are allowed to swim in the ocean but it is a very risky thing, especially for the babies which is why it is advisable for pregnant won to just not swim at all or just dip their legs during that ti."

Hearing this, Elaina is disappointed that she felt like her body lost all color in disappointnt.

"Ugh...why is it that when I wanted to have so fun, things always stopped ?" Elaina sighed in disappointnt.

"We just can’t do much about that, Sis. With how you are carrying two kids in your belly right now, things like this are necessary," Julia sighed.

"You know, enjoying the beach doesn’t an you really needed to be swimming in the ocean to fully understand and feel the situation. Although it is a big bumr indeed that you won’t be able to have a good swim on the water because you are pregnant, the other events would be a very good way filler to the situation and might be a better alternative for you."

"Guess you are right. But it is a big bumr. I wanted to have a good ti with everyone about it and splash water with you guys," Elaina still sounded disappointed but she had no other choice for her but to just comply. She also didn’t want her pregnancy to end up having complications either.

Still, knowing this festival is coming, and confirming a few things to her, Elaina is sowhat excited, especially towards the fish. With the upcoming fishing competition, perhaps this is a good way to unlock the fish pages that are locked in the almanac.

Fishing in the ocean ans getting more variety of fish, and more variety of fish that she can harvest for herself and the glutton goddess herself. She might not be going to be enjoying the experience to the fullest, but this alone is sothing big for her.

"If that is the case, even if I can’t enjoy the festival’s anities to the highest level, then I will enjoy myself and do what I want to do soon."

...

...

...

While Elaina is recovering from the sudden realization she had, sothing else is happening, outside of Elaina’s perspective. In a nearby cave cove, not too far from the shore, a figure entered inside and locked themselves inside. The figure is so fast that anyone can tell it was sothing that was done to ensure things don’t elicit panic.

"We will be safe here," the figure muttered to herself as she held her stomach. Whatever happens, I will make sure things will remain the sa and safe even for ."
