Chapter 85: Divine Intervention

The desk loudly made a ruckus as the Father of Elaina, Victor bangs both his fists to the surface as he angrily glared at the soldiers who returned with their armor broken.

"What do you all an you can’t get in? Do you think I am stupid?!"

"N-no sir...things seem to be different after we left and we-" Before the guard can finish what he wanted to say, a glass of water is thrown just slightly touching his skin before ultimately falling to the ground and shattering to pieces.

"Useless piece of sh*ts! I never hired you a lot just to be useless! Get out of my sight and find a way to wreck that farm of hers!"

The guards imdiately leave the tent to avoid incurring the wrath of the old man. They don’t want to get in trouble with soone who is so volatile.

Victor slapped his forehead and sighed as his wife imdiately handed him another glass of wine and smiled.

"What did I tell you, Victor? Be calm and composed so as not to cause yourself to be stressed out too much. This is why you always lose your cool before you can even give a rational order or decision at tis," Maria, Elaina’s and Troy’s Mother smiled as she covered half of her face with her foldable fan.

"Pah, and what? I would just sit here and smile at them while they epically fail at their jobs that should be very simple."

"Calm down. If you keep on getting angry like that, your headache will progressively worsen. And besides, with the Priest here by our side, shouldn’t we just take our ti and we can be sure to complete the will of the church? After all, no matter what, Elaina will have no choice but to co to us once she realizes the futility of her actions."

"That foolish girl, just when I thought she beca an obedient puppet we could keep that will obey our orders and then she does this. Not only that but she decided to carry the misfortunes in her belly without even surrendering them to the church. That is already blasphemous and that brings a great sha to our household."

"While I agree with you, we shouldn’t rush ourselves. Knowing our daughter, there is no way she would imdiately give them up. Therefore, we slowly break her down and influence her surroundings first. Before long, she will not have any reason not to return to the life she knows."

"Oh, you wanted to employ "that" tactic of ours? Aren’t those usually done against our business to ensure that they will give up and yield up all of their profits in the process?"

"Exactly. Since a farm is still a sort of business and it revolves around money as well, deploying the sa tactic will just cause their farm to get hit by it. Influencing the market will be a piece of cake for us, yes? With your leadership, we can do it without any problem."

Hearing this, the lips of Victor slowly ford a smile. A familiar smile that many people know after they realize how terrifying things will be with them at the helm of the business.

"I see. Didn’t know you would plan that much ahead, sweetheart," Victor raised his glass of wine into the air.

"Hehe, without

darling, you are a sorry ss right now. Which is why we complent each other."

The two flashed each other a smile. A smile that they usually wear when they are certain of their win.

Julia remained on standby and is managing the barrier of the farm. With Troy and Princess Margaux currently watching over Elaina, she started to repair the barrier that was broken by the soldiers earlier. She didn’t realize that it was broken until it got breached by everyone else. Because she didn’t want to reveal that she was living there with Elaina’s parents, Julia didn’t repair the barrier imdiately until they left. She always needed to be careful or else, things might go badly in the process and she didn’t want things to worsen than they should.

But when Julia started to repair the barrier, she was surprised that her barrier remained intact this ti. She was so sure it got broken when they used it earlier and when it got broken. She is also quite sure that the barrier would not repair by itself therefore, she knows that she needs to repair it once it gets broken. But she is shocked and a bit confused as to what is happening. She even double-checked it to ensure that she was not just imagining things.

"This shouldn’t be the case. I am quite sure the mont Sister’s parents entered, the barrier that I added to the farm was broken before it could even handle it. So how co the barrier is back once again? Not only that but it also beca quite stronger than before."

Julia knows how weak she is at the mont so all she can whip up is a basic barrier that can block weak monsters and repel basic attacks. But now, the repaired barrier is not only much sturdier than before, it is also much stronger than before as well. It can now reflect the damage done to the barrier and it is of a high-quality power as well that any attacks done to the barrier would automatically cause the damage to reflect straight to the attacker as well.

She continued to examine the barrier and no matter what she did, the results remained the sa.

"This isn’t my work... this is soone else’s work," Julia refuses to acknowledge this is her work. After all, it was still diocre work she could do and yet the barrier is now much stronger than before.

While wondering just how is this all possible, a figure appeared on the spring, floating above the water and is currently eating. The figure noticed her and started to beckon her. Although suspicious of who this was, she soon realized who this person was when she got close. This was the one her Sis called the Harvest Goddess. Although she did not know what she was, just by the na alone, she knew she must be soone important.

"Hey, are you the one who deployed this little barrier that I was borrowing currently?" The Harvest Goddess asked.

"Barrier? Ah, you an the one I conjured? Oh, yes indeed. I am the one who created it.

"Ah, good. I apologize for hijacking your barrier from your hands. I find it exhausting to create a barrier from scratch so instead, I just reused the broken barrier and used it for my own. I also repaired the broken part as well to ensure that it will function well."

"You are the one who did all of the repairs?!" Julia was shocked.

"Yeah. It wasn’t too much of a hassle compared to conjuring a barrier. I also strengthened it for the ti being as well which is why it will be strong enough to withstand most attacks that will be done to it. Although it wasn’t invincible, it was strong enough to handle anything that was not equal to an anti-divine attack or anything below the Diety tier magic and attack."

"You- you an this barrier is indestructible?!" Julia was shocked.

"Are you even listening? I said it wasn’t indestructible. Sure, it can handle many attacks but anti-divine attacks are sothing that can break this barrier in the process. Other than that, only deities will be strong enough to break it, and a few humans can use magic attacks with attacks that can rival deities."

"Then that ans every danger that will be directed to the farm will not be able to pass through and also start damaging them in the process as well?"

"Indeed. However, I will have to focus on keeping the power of the barrier intact and because I only made sure to keep the barrier like this, maintaining it is still your task. You will have to keep the upti of the barrier as long as possible for

to keep doing this."

Julia understood imdiately. Because barriers don’t just stay forever once it was cast, maintaining them is necessary. And since she is keeping the upti of the barrier just fine, that only ans the barrier will remain intact as well.

"But...why are you helping us? You are a goddess right since my Sis calls you that. Did she sohow form so sort of agreent with you?" Julia asked curiously.

"Nope. Although you can say we have a unique relationship, you can say it is close to a kind of business partner. And don’t get

wrong, although this is what I am doing, you should thank soone else for not his orders, this wouldn’t be what I have in mind. You can say that these things are happening in the process due to so divine intervention. Other than that, you can leave it to your imagination. So until the danger passes, then I will be hijacking this barrier of yours for a longer period. Hope you don’t mind."
