Chapter 69: Fey For Hire
Elaina is not so familiar with the Fey term. She has heard of it before but she is not that knowledgeable about the term as it is part of the mythical realm of magic stuff that most magicians and magic practitioners dabble in. And besides, she is more on the business side and how to make more money than trudging through the topic of things that are about mythical creatures.
But seeing soone who claims to be a Fey himself, there must be so shed of truth about it.
"You are looking for a job?" Elaina frowned.
"Let’s discuss this matter properly alright? Can you take the blade off and the paws of your pet? It is so threatening and I might die before I can even talk to you."
Elaina glanced at Julia and she nodded, knowing what to do if the "fey" would suddenly do sothing suspicious. Shardu seems to also understand his part and removed the paw that is currently stopping the Fey from even moving around.
"Oh my goodness, I felt like I lost 500 years of my life from that encounter alone!" the fey dramatically wipes away his sweat as he slowly stands up from being slumped on the ground earlier.
Now that Elaina can finally see the little guy closely with Shardu’s paw off of him, he looks like a mini child in her eyes. The guy is so small that even her palm is bigger than his size and he can squash him anyti without warning. He wears a green garb with a nightcap on his head that is also color green. Elaina then sowhat sees the guy as sothing that she has seen in statues and garden decorations most of the ti. But for so reason, this guy seems to be missing a certain key feature most gnos he has seen should have on his face.
"Are you perhaps a gno?" Elaina asked.
"What?! Who are you calling a gno?! I am honestly a more handso and fine-looking gentleman than a gno’s old man features! I am an honest-for-goodness-sake bonafide Fey! Get that? I am a Fey and not a Gno!"
"Doesn’t have much difference, is there?" Julia comnted as she observed the little guy with a puzzled look on her face.
Elaina then realized why she seed to be certain that this guy is lacking sothing of a key feature to be a gno and that’s when Elaina realized that this guy just doesn’t have a single shred of hair growing on his face. His chin and snout are both clear from any beard or any traces of stray hair.
"Anyway, enough of that. I am not here to discuss whether I am a gno or a fey but honestly, I am a fey, so please, rember that."
"Alright then, tell us your reason as to why you decided to sneak up on the farm and tried to hide from us. Without Julia noticing your entry and Shardu stopping you, who knows what you might have done to us."
"Hey, hey! I am innocent and I am just as normal as they can be! And it’s not my fault that you guys just haven’t seen
properly! You humans are tall and towering compared to us Feys! Also, I am here to ask for a job seeing that you have connections to beings like us."
"Connection?" Elaina frowned.
"Don’t deny it! I have seen that you are currently in contact with the Harvest Goddess herself. That only ans that you are soone who is trusted even by the goddess for her to personally save you from the spirits of the forests! That alone is a big quality for us Feys that you are soone who is going to beco the right employer for us!"
Elaina shook her head in confusion and looked at the Fey before her. "Alright, let’s hear this claim of yours that you want to work on our farm. How co you are so sure that you are going to be a great asset here? What can you do?"
"Hehe, I am not going to brag or anything but we Feys can proudly say that we are capable workers for the farm in taking care of both plants and animals in their ways. We can harvest, sow seeds, water the plants and even take care of your animals and harvest their produce if you want us to! With how big your farm is, I can say that employing us for work would be greatly beneficial for your good as well. After all, you can free yourself from unnecessary work as a result! I can even work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as long as there is proper paynt for our hard work!"
Before the little fey could say more, Elaina stopped him. "I appreciate your eagerness and your long speech about yourself but we can’t pay you money for your hard work. Just so you know, we are still a poor farm that has little to no money that we can use to hire and employ people to help on the farm."
"Oh no, you are mistaken. We are not here to ask for money in exchange for work. Your money is useless for us as we don’t have any need for those things and we don’t buy in the market for humans so you don’t have to worry too much about your money pool being reduced. All we needed in exchange for work was food. You help us get food, like give us ingredients like vegetables and at, then we will gladly work for you!"
Elaina is still pretty much not convinced. She doesn’t know much about these kinds of beings. However, Julia seems to have other ideas.
"Sis, you should hire this guy! I am sure of it, this guy would be a great help for both of us here on the farm!" Julia tried to convince Elaina.
"Huh? Are you sure? I an, they look harmless and all, but are they even trustworthy?" Elaina still has doubts.
"Yes. I have read before that Feys are great farr’s friends as they help out on farms and secretly boost harvests from ti to ti which makes them favorable to so farrs. The farrs themselves would give offerings as well to these guys in exchange for the bountiful harvests!"
"Ho! It seems soone in here is knowledgeable about us! That is right. Our race is considered the lucky charm of the farm. With our help, not only will you be alleviated by your concerns and workload, but we can even increase the yield of your farm naturally as well!"
"Huh...is that right...but how do we even know that you would do that?"
"Just wait and see, the skills of the Fey are sothing that we take pride in. You won’t regret hiring us!" the fey makes a bow.
"Wait, wait, before I hire you, I keep on hearing you saying "we
