Chapter 540: Purify the Corruption [III]
The receding rot and the fact that the tree itself is looking healthier the more the Watering Can pours makes the pixies look forward to the changes happening on it. Elaina did not stop to pour water on the spots of corruption, making sure each of them slowly disappears.
The process was slow but it is working miraculously which is what Elaina wanted. Even the pixies around were not expecting the healing process of the corruption as well. If they have known a tool like what Elaina is carrying could actually remove the one making the World Tree rot, they would have focused on finding it just to ensure the tree would have not progressed into the worst state it would have been.
Half an hour later and the corruption on the tree is only located in a few spots now. Elaina made sure that both the tree and the soil’s corruption has been disappearing as well. The world tree also blood a lot after majority of its rot is gone. It has also began purifying the surrounding rots on its own as well.
"My word! I never expected this in my entire life but to see the World Tree finally shows sign of recovering by itself is already a miracle. Thank the Gods for this blessing indeed!"
The God of Farming chuckled after hearing the sentence the Elder Pixie was saying. "[He should have been thanking Elaina on this one and not the gods. Even I couldn’t have thought about using the ability of the cursed and blessed tool to reverse a process of the curse. I am grateful he is thanking us but that was not even part of our work.]"
Elaina smiled but did not relay the words of the God of Farming to the pixies and just kept the information herself. They would find her weird for being able to talk to the Gods without doing rituals and prayers to even communicate with gods and they also won’t straight up believe her words with that.
Around an hour later, the young world tree has finally recovered and the surrounding black spots that has been slowly climbing to the trunk of the world tree has finally disappeared and the rot that was present for quite so ti that slowly degrade the tree’s effectiveness in healing has recovered that one would not expect those parts were once rot infested not too long ago.
The Pixies were now gathered at the fully recovered World Tree and is now enjoying the fresh air and mana it is releasing. Even Elaina who can’t detect the mana in any shape or form could feel the flow like it was water. It is refreshing and pleasant, making the surrounding area a lot more vibrant and positive in terms of atmosphere.
Not only that but the ground that was once inhospitable and unable to grow any kind of plant life for so unknown reason has finally recovered and grass are already poking out of the ground like they have been waiting for this exact mont and was just inactive for quite so ti until it managed to recover.
The Pixie Elder starts crying as he continues to profusely thank Elaina for her contributions.
"I could not believe that you really would manage to do this, Dear Savior. The fact that not only did you fully remove the rot on the world tree but also remove the corruption is sothing I wouldn’t have imagined to be possible but here we are. Are you sure you are not sent by a god or goddess to save the world tree and act like a passing bystander?"
Elaina shook her head. "That would be too much of a stretch, Elder. And besides, all I did was pour water on it from the watering can. Anyone can do it just fine, you know?"
That’s when the Dragon Knight who was silently watching all the events unfold speaks up.
"Not anyone can do this, so don’t sell yourself short, human. The fact that an impossible dilemma has been solved in just an hour by a human without even a way to detect mana in her body or in the air is already sothing worth noting here. Even those with the mightiest magic would not be able to do what you did."
Elaina looked at rhe Dragon knight with surprise as she thought he was not interested in talking with her.
The Elder Pixie quickly cos in to explain things to Elaina. "Miss Savior, the Dragon Knight you entrusted us earlier has woken up. Since he is still confused and not sure what is happening, we decided to let him stay here for the ti being and have him recover his wounds and perhaps even his mory slowly and maybe it will return in ti once he is a little bit healthy and a bit more stable now. Not only that but you allowed us to also know that the Princess is healthy and well. I am eternally grateful to your actions."
Elaina smiled and nodded. "It’s good to know that he woke up fine. He wouldn’t show signs of waking up for quite so ti, I thought he wouldn’t be waking up anyti soon."
The Dragon Knight looked at the Elder Pixie and then at Elaina before asking, "Wait a minute Elder, does that an the one who saved
was actually her? The one you said to have helped out with your problems and found
in the process?"
The Elder Pixie nodded in response. "The very sa. You didn’t know she would be the one who will save you, eh?"
"Indeed. A human that lacks the capacity to use magic and yet sohow, managed to save
from my predicant. No wonder you have been present in so of my mories...so it was you who turned my miserable situation around and saved
from eternal suffering. And for that, I really should thank you for doing so," The Dragon Knight sincerly thanked Elaina, smiling from ear to ear with the teary eye.
"Oh no, don’t ntion it. And besides, you were impaler by a spear and for you to be able to withstand that without dying is sothing of a miracle itself. For you to endure that and survive, I must say that I would have not been able to save you at all if not for your tenacity either."
When Elaina ntioned the spear, a few mories floods back the mind of the Dragon Knight. He clutches his head in pain as the sudden rush of mories into his brain sohow made him gain a bit of a headache.
"Whoa now, careful there since you just woke up. Don’t force yourself too much, yes?"
"I rember now...I wasn’t impaled there by accident...I was impaled there to pay for the cris I did not commit. I was betrayed..."
