Chapter 459: A Little Dose
"I see, so to test the effects of this new potion everyone made, you deed it best to conduct the test here in my clinic," Dr. Fey examined the potion and even slled the contents.
"Is it fine, though? I an, considering that this dicine has yet to be approved by the Apothecary Guild, there is a chance this particular dicine would be seen as dangerous. The ss might drag you if we aren’t careful," Elaina expressed her worries.
"Not to worry about that, Miss Elaina, considering this is a trial dicine and not an official one, we can take advantage of that to see the effects. And besides, compared to other sicknesses, fertility is sothing that is hard to detect, unless soone goes to the doctor and asks for a checkup. And considering how many won are desperate enough, they might even agree with the trial. We will just put out a waiver for them to sign on so that even if sothing does happen, they can’t sue us since they agreed on the trial testing," Dr. Fey explained.
"That’s a bit evil," Elaina comnted about the waiver.
"Not really. This is a standard procedure for the trial dicines that need confirmation. Since so dicines cannot take effect in a regular way, there are so trials that involve a real patient. Considering the effect of your dicine, the only way for us to determine the effective dosage is to have a trial and error in the first place."
Elaina sighed. "Alright, Doc, you are the one in charge, and I will have Yona help out for the ti being in your clinic to help check the dosage and record the results of the trial. Considering that she is one of the makers of the dicine, she wanted to ensure that the dicine is not bad for the body and wanted it to succeed."
"Alright then, I will inform Maria about this so that she won’t be surprised once Miss Yona started to help around. So, this bottle is our first trial test sample?"
"Yes. I already nad it Fertility Potion, though our problem with it is that we have not learned how much dosage is necessary. I believe you have a good idea for a starting dose, Dr. Fey?" Elaina asked.
"Considering that the dicine itself is a bit thicker than a regular potion, small doses, perhaps, are a good starting point instead of downing an entire potion bottle. Have you tasted it before?" Dr. Fey asked.
"Yes. There is an ingredient we mixed in that tasted disgusting, so we have to add an additive that will sweeten the mixture, which makes the potion itself a bit viscous and thick. It’s a bit sweeter with a bit of sourness on the side. If this is more like a regular potion, then it wouldn’t really matter too much, but with this, smaller doses are a better approach. We can increase the dosage intake if the first dose is ineffective."
Elaina discussed the Fertility potion a bit more with Dr. Fey and relayed all that she could to the doctor to ensure she had an idea of what to expect from the dicine.
Once she is done relaying everything, Elaina hopes for the best with the potion and leaves the clinic. It is Yona’s turn to see and supervise the potion’s effects.

A few days have passed since then, Elaina continues to cultivate her farm and has started the cultivation of fruit trees on the farm’s vacant land. She plans to grow various fruit trees so that they can get fresh fruits every day and not just remain on the Apple tree. Although Elaina did not focus too much on the animals, thanks to Curaj, who is always with the animals and is their caretaker, Elaina is not worried about them at all. In fact, Yona has to stay very late these past few days, and Elaina is curious about what is going o,n but since she couldn’t catch Yona free in the mornings and it’s very late when Yona returns, Elaina can only wonder what has happened so far.
And then...that day, finally arrived.
Yona returned to the farm with a big smile on her face.
"Miss Elaina! I have returned with good news and maybe so bad news. Which one do you want to hear?" Yona asked as she reports the end of the trial tests.
"There’s bad news, huh? Well, I don’t want to hear the bad thing first, let’s get to the good news," Elaina said.
"Good news then. Well, the trial test is an overwhelming success, Miss Elaina. Not only that, but the dosage we needed to administer the potion to the patient is only a small dose. A bottle of the potion can last for 20 patients at once before running out. The potion was so effective that even those who were confird sterile and could not get pregnant reported that their fertility had been restored. Even n who had taken the potion have been cured of their impotence problems as well. Even Dr. Fey was not expecting the outco as well."
Elaina smiled, hearing this. It seems that the Laporal is going to be used a lot from now on to have the Fertility potion in production. Thankfully, one bottle of potion is enough for 20 doses, which ans there is no worry about imdiately running out of stock.
"Then...what about the bad news?" Elaina tilted her head.
"Since the potion turned out to be real effective, Dr. Fey decided that she would help in getting the dicine a proper patent and license so that it is going to be legal to distribute, sell and recomnd to patients in the future, but it seems that soone from another kingdom who is a royalty there has taken interest in your potion and wanted to buy the rights and take over the production of the potion itself. They wanted to claim that they are the ones who developed the potion."
Elaina frowned, hearing this. Even as a royalty, this is beyond unfair, and for Elaina, she is not happy about this.
