Chapter 435: Is the Future Bleak?

The Crystal Ball, known by its simple na the Future Ball, beca the main attention of the group. After all, it gave them a glimpse of the future, even if it wasn’t a sure-fire future since, according to the Grand Sage, it changes from ti to ti, which makes whatever it displays inconsistent. They wanted to see what kind of future would appear before them and marvel at what they would beco in the future.

" next!

next!" Arthur is so excited after the successful reveal of the "badass future" that Raye has gotten that he also wants to see a similar thing on the crystal ball.

"Oh, slow down kids. I almost forgot to ntion that there is a limit every week on how much one can use the Future Ball which is 5 tis a week. I have used it once already and this boy also used it as well, which ans this Future Ball is only capable of predicting the future 3 more tis. It is best to talk to everyone who wanted to test the Future Ball and settle yourselves on who will be doing the prediction."

Hearing that the Future Ball has limits, the kids imdiately started their discussion. Elaina was a bit perplexed and decided to talk to the Grand Sage about the limited usage of the Future Ball.

"Grand Sage! Is it even right to use the remaining uses of the Future Ball just like that? I know you are indulging the kids but the Future Ball seems to hold a significant importance and you might need to use a bit of the prediction again!"

The Grand Sage laughed at Elaina’s worries and put out a thumbs up to her. "Don’t worry, I don’t use it much and even if I do use it, I only do it once and I have already used it once besides, the uses it has will just reset in the future so I am not going to worry about it. Just let the kids have their fun."

Elaina sighed in relief. She wouldn’t want to inconvenience the Grand Sage and already make an impression bad enough for the Grand Sage to move out from the farm because of what her children did. She might allow free rein on what the kids do, but she also has to keep them in control once they do sothing.

"[I have always been curious about the Goddess of Precognition’s tools and trinkets but didn’t expect that he would put a slight restriction to his tools like this.]" the God of Farming comnted.

"Goddess of Precognition? This is the first ti I have heard of them."

"[Oh, she is one of the first Primordial gods who disappeared all of a sudden and has never been seen ever since. She handles fortune telling, premonition, and bestowing prophecies to humanity as a way to guide humanity. But no one knows why she disappeared and where she has gone to.]"

"Do the items related to a god disappear if they die?" Elaina asked.

"[Yes. Since no one will support the tools that are powered with the god’s energy, without the god providing power, everything will stop and render the items useless as a result and will be considered a relic that is left behind in the past. Unless this god or goddess passes over their powers to other god candidates then that power will forever remain dormant until soone worthy will be capable of using it again]."

There are many things that Elaina has learned before related to the gods but this is the first ti she has learned about the missing gods. Considering that the gods seem to have no idea where they are, these gods may be possibly sealed or have been stuck in a place that even the other gods cannot access considering that even the Goddess of Precognition’s tools still function normally, and her life is still burning bright.

"Are you sure this is a tool made by the Goddess of Precognition? Does that an this is a legitimate tool that can tell the future?" Elaina wanted to confirm her theory.

"[I can’t mistake about it. Her power still flows on that tool and considering that it can tell a future like that, it ans that it works properly. But based on that old mage saying it is not accurate, I think the reason it keeps changing the future is because of various developnts in the world. If things continue like this, then the future will remain unchanged. That child who saw his future will beco a warrior that will fight on a world that is scorched in war.]"

Elaina’s ears perked up. "Does that an war will continue?"

"[No one knows and even I have no idea. Only the Goddess of Precognition and the Creator God knows. Gods like

who only handle the farming aspects cannot possibly learn what will happen in the future.]"

The little revelation made Elaina shiver as she recalled the situation in the scene that which Raye’s future was displayed. A scorched land that continues to burn and monsters all around. One thing is certain by just observing those things, the future is bleak and has no promising future.

Sothing must’ve happened along the way that has yet to be stopped and that will be the main cause of the war. A catalyst that might have or not be activated and will result in the sa future.

By the ti Elaina has slowly understood the revelation, the kids who are discussing on who will receive the future will be Arthur, Layla and the only adult who wanted to know the future, Julia. Elaina has no interest in checking the future at all. She wanted to face her future head-on without finding out about it in advance even if she is curious about it.

Arthur imdiately approaches the Future Ball with excitent on his face.

"Look, I will have the gallant look of a knight in my future. Soone who will wield a sword that will be able to cut every enemy I will co across!" Arthur said with certainty that the Future Ball would show what he just said.

"Cool story bro, now hold on to that crystal ball and see if what you are saying will happen for real," Adelaide said and grabbed Arthur’s hand and put it on the Future Ball before Arthur could even react.

As soon as the palm of Arthur made contact with the Future Ball, the crystal ball shone and a scene appeared before everyone. Instead of just Arthur’s future, there was another person who appeared on the crystal ball...an adult Adelaide.

"Oh my...I didn’t expect to see a new function of the Future Ball!" the Grand Sage’s eyes lit up seeing the result.

Elaina’s kids were stunned by the scene but Elaina had a good look at what was being displayed.

Like what Arthur said, he is holding a sword. It looks pretty similar to the sword that she commissioned the dwarves to make but since it wasn’t finished yet, she has yet to receive and see its final form. As for what the sword looks like on the Future Ball, it does look similar but since it wasn’t the main focus of the projection and it is being covered in so sort of aura, she couldn’t tell what it was. Arthur seems to have gotten more handso by the ti he is an adult. However, his face and arms are ridden with scars, it is like he has been to war for countless years and he looks like a dangerous thug. But even with the scars, it cannot hide the handso face of his son. But seeing this made her a bit concerned and worried. Based on his face, it seems that Arthur on the Future Ball is a teenager and not yet a total adult.

As for Adelaide, she also matured a lot to the point that looking at her reminds Elaina of her teen years. She looks so much like Elaina that if Elaina didn’t know better, she might mistake it for her. The only difference now is that Adelaide’s left eye is currently blocked by an eyepatch. Both her hands are holding two swords, both look like her sword but are small versions of it. Not only that, but both swords are imbued with magic, fla, and lightning. Considering that Adelaide has experience being a soldier and a knight in her past life, it seems in this life, she decided to pursue to study of magic and once she learned, she utilized that magic and incorporated it into her fighting style.

Behind the two kids is a familiar stature and clothing. The sa clothing that Raye wore on the projection that the future about him has been displayed and considering there are also two figures on his projection, that must an the projection is just one and the sa, but from different perspectives this ti around.

Elaina did not get to properly observe the projection’s surroundings of the people when it showed Raye’s future but considering this is still the sa environnt, Elaina quickly scanned on where the three are currently standing and soon frowned.

Although the place is unfamiliar, the place is full of monsters. The reason the three are huddled together and their backs are facing together is pretty obvious. Monsters are surrounding the three and this ti, they are fighting.

Elaina’s face turned grim. Just what would be happening in the future?
