War.

Back in the past, war is common and is sothing that has been done every ti there was so things that two groups disagree with. And of course, these wars are bloody enough that those who survive these wars would rather wish that they will not be able to experience the tragic experiences again or their future descendants will be able to escape the fate of experiencing the horrors war can bring.

But nowadays, war is considered a bygone thing and is sothing that can only be rembered on the books and not sothing that will be experienced nowadays. With kingdoms making sure that peace continues by holding conferences and etings with their representative, the threat of war has vanished and now, peace has continued to prosper.

However, the talk about war again has been rekindled and this ti, soone brought that information. But right now, it is still a confidential matter that is still being talked about privately.

Rakkan’s face seems to have twisted hearing the information from Alfred’s mouth.

"Are you saying this to escape your sins and be forgiven? Because even if you are telling the truth doesn’t an you will receive an easy forgiveness just from that."

Alfred shook his head and his face turned serious. "I know that Elaina will possibly not forgive , but I am genuinely doing this out of genuine concern and to also make sure that this matter is going to be sent properly to the people of the kingdom of Darcero. I don’t know anyone from the kingdom of Darcero without my usual vassals to help

out. I ca here in secret after all.

Rakkan seems to be still unconvinced but Liliana was quick to stop Rakkan from doing any outbursts.

"I think he is saying the truth this ti around, Rakkan. We didn’t see or notice any escorts or soldiers when we subdued him earlier ans that he is indeed alone this ti around. He managed to get here safely."

"And how the heck has he been able to move and ride a ship here to Darcero Kingdom without getting discovered? That doesn’t make sense. He is the Emperor after all, there is no way that security is so lax that even the emperor will be able to move away from the kingdom without the security getting alerted."

Alfred continues to explain and pulled out a piece of paper that looks like a letter since it still has an envelope but it has been crumpled for a bit, aning it has been a while. "I followed what Elaina did here that allowed her to escape."

Liliana took the envelope and opened it, revealing the letter that Elaina has written to Alfred back then and a paper that has a detailed plan that Elaina made. It was crumpled aning it was trash before it was discovered.

"I discovered it when I was looking for clues on where Elaina was. No one has read this so this secret remained to be mine and Elaina alone and how she managed to escape is sothing I replicated myself."

Using the escape thod that Elaina made, it is only a matter of disguise and buying a ticket to board on a ship and sail away from his kingdom and without carrying too much belongings, he escaped his kingdom.

"Seeing that you are carrying belongings, are you planning on leaving your kingdom unsupervised?"

Alfred laughed dryly and sighed. "My kingdom? HA...I was so blind before. I didn’t know that I was being used. I know it was my fault but I wasn’t expecting that Selena would be the one who will be taking my position as the emperor. After I got myself busy from all the business that Elaina left behind, Selena took advantage of this and used my na to operate and hold etings with the elders of the kingdom."

Elders of the Kingdom.

Different from the elders of the rfolk kingdom, the elders of Luminiera Kingdom are not literal elders but the son and daughters of the branch families. They are not on the main line that will be able to inherit the kingdom’s seat and get to beco the empress or emperor unless they are the direct person in line. As a way to make the branches of the family contribute to the prosperity of the kingdom, the Elders circle was ford which was first ruled by the founders and the elders of each branch family which in turn, allowed the new generation to inherit the titles and privileges that their elders enjoy.

"Selena is the one taking the reins?" Rakkan frowned.

"Yes. During the ti I was busy, Selena took her ti to build her own reputation. Unlike Elaina who would rather build connections to rchants and leave the matters related to the kingdom’s prosperity and eting with the Elders my task, Selena is doing the opposite thing. She used my na and her old position to build a way to be recognized and since the Elders have a good relationship and the Pope of the church is also helping out Selena, she quickly built her reputation that soon rivaled my status as an Emperor."

"Ha, got a pisspoor performance that my other great granddaughter snatched your place?" Rakkan grinned.

"As much as I hate to admit that, you are correct. Thanks to

ignoring most of the things that my kingdom needed and the poor reception I have been doing with the Elders, their attention shifted and before I knew it, they have influenced the kingdom to the point that even if I try to interfere, they can just kick

away from my position. I haven’t done anything to collect their ire just yet and decided to take my chances to remain in the dark while also planning things for myself."

"Isn’t it still your fault that this thing is happening? If you didn’t try to hit on my other great granddaughter even though you are married already, this would have never happened and things would have continued."

He sighed. "I think it is better this way. I don’t deserve any apologies but perhaps it was fate that this happened to our marriage. As a result to this matter, Elaina managed to get away from the kingdom just fine and our children managed to survive the Great Twin Purge that the Church launched not too long ago."

Liliana frowned. "Wait, what did you just say? Great Twin Purge?"

"Right, this matter remained only in Luminiera Kingdom so no one heard about this matter. But since I am here, I will relay the situation. After Elaina and my twins have escaped the Kingdom, the Pope gained a revelation of so sort. Sothing that is related to so twins that will bring ruin or sothing. As a way to prevent that from happening, a purge is ordered and with the help of the Elders of the Kingdom, the order was carried out and every unborn twins that are being hidden or those people who have twins before their birth but killed the other so that one can live on has been captured and executed. Even those who are already adults but has their twins in other country or kingdom has not been spared and was also captured. It was such a big thing that the people called the event "Great Twin Purge" which beca a sort of holiday on the Luminiera Kingdom."

Hearing this, both Rakkan and Liliana shook and rage in their faces beca apparent.

"And you didn’t do anything? You let this thing happen?!" Rakkan angrily growled.

"I would if I could! I was kept in the dark about it during the initial part of their operation. I only got to know about it when the public shaming and execution has been carried out. I tried to intervene but the Elders quickly refuted my rule and let the soldiers continue the operation. Even with my orders, not a single one was done and the only orders that continued was the orders of those bastards. In the end, the situation ended up in a bloody ss. It is also the ti I realized that sothing is not right and I also realized sothing wrong with how I think about twins."

Hearing this, both Rakkan and Liliana had an idea. They are now quite sure of it as soon as Alfred continue to talk.

"It was like I received so sort of clear head that allowed

to think. I didn’t expect to hate twins before and rembering what I did to Elaina back then by bringing a priest from the church, I think I was not right in my mind at that ti. I received my punishnt at that ti but I have to repent. After all, I thought of sothing barbaric like that to my own kin that has yet to see the world at that ti. "Are you saying that you seed brainwashed?" Liliana looked at him seriously.

Alfred nodded. Then he continued. "And after learning about this matter too late, I soon learned the plan that Selena is currently brewing with the Church and the Elders. They said it was so sort of invasion with the plan to take over the kingdom of Darcero. It was a vague thing still so I investigated for a few more days and soon I discovered that they are planning to make war with Darcero Kingdom for spreading malicious anti-religious teachings that break the pillars of teachings that the Church has been teaching. And to do that, they will be launching an attack soon to the Kingdom of Darcero. Of course, they are still preparing but I can tell they will be doing it soon so as soone who have gotten my wits back, I decided to do the right thing and co here. And here we are now."

Everyone heard this and they are now feeling the grim situation looming on the horizon.

Then, just as they were currently contemplating, Elaina is slowly opening her eyes.
