Chapter 355: Repair Complete

Two days have passed by ever since Duke Darcy and his team have descended to the labyrinth. Because there is no way to check whether the group is still alive down there or not, the people have grown worried and are already thinking up of following them.

But because no one can actually et inside the labyrinth at the sa ti if one descended separately and then another followed next, no one can actually et with them therefore, there was no point in going.

Elaina knows how dangerous the labyrinth is. Even when she descended and cleared the first strata, the feeling of dread and danger always lingered near and never far from her. As for Duke Darcy and the group, she can only pray that the did not et a terrible fate and the only reason they have yet to ascend or return to the teleport station is because they are still busy clearing the whole place.

"Good morning, Miss Farr. Are you going to tend the fields again?" One of the guards asked

"Yes. Since the plants on the sumr and autumn fields have started to grow, it’s best to continue the work being done to them and finish the formation of the barrier completely."

"It’s nice to know that the barrier is returning to its forr form and is now being strengthened further. We won’t be worried with monster passing though in the future."

"There are still slim chances this will break. It might be a barrier bit that doesn’t an it is invincible and can continue to block it without worrying about it collapsing. It is only a safety net so that people have enough ti to respond and fight back in case it happens."

"So even with the barrier, we still needed to be careful for anything that might happen. Understandable."

Elaina still didn’t know how strong the barrier that will be generated from planting three fields. Sure enough, it will be stronger than the previous barrier that got destroyed by the boss but that doesn’t an it will not break again. Strong attacks will easily break those things down.

After the minor talk with the guard, Elaina returned to work. Her task for the day is to plant and fill the whole fields with plants, not leaving a single soil unplanted. The reason is simple. She thinks that because the barrier was ford even when planting small on the first field, there is a chance that it will get "strengthened" if Elaina continue to plant and fill the whole field with more plants. Of course, there is a big possibility it won’t work that way and Elaina is just wasting ti, but she decided to go on anyways. If her theory is not true, then it isn’t a big loss as she can still harvest more crops in the future once they go mature. But if her theory turns out to be correct, then she will be in great position and the barrier is also sturdy enough now.

So, even with the probability being a 50-50 at best, Elaina decided to roll with it. After all, she didn’t want to keep on repairing the barrier every ti it is destroyed. She wanted to keep it in tip-top condition instead of relying on weak barrier that can barely block and keep everything secured.

"Alright, lets get to work!"

The first thing Elaina did is to start the tilling process. Of course, tilling the ground was nothing new but thanks to the blessed hoe she got back then, the tilling process ended up being easier to finish and less of a hassle to do. In just a few minutes, the whole field that was empty have been tilled and ready to be planted with new stuff.

With the field ready, Elaina readies the dicinal herbs that only grow in each of their respective seasons. Since most of her dicinal herbs that she planted before have been destroyed and cannot be used anymore, she needed to plant new stalks to recover from her loss.

Each dicinal herbs has a seasonal variant and each variant has a healing factor that depends on the quality and environnt it grows in. In short, the better its environnt and the better it is taken care of, the more potent the dicinal herb is going to be once they are processed to regular dicine.

Aside from dicinal herbs, Elaina planted crops that grow produce and continue to grow more once harvested. Since in regular seasons, there are intervals they can be harvested due to the limited ti in season, with seasons frozen here in the fields, those kinds of trouble are non-existent. Aside from those crops, she also decided to plant those crops that takes a long ti to grow. Crops that almost take an entire season just to grow regular produce. One that is considered so rare that no one would think of growing it in normal circumstances. For example...the Pink lon.

Pink lon are considered as greenhouse only plants that cannot be grown regularly due to how long they grow and they only have single harvest tendencies, making it a very much not worth of investnt to plant due to how long it grows and even though it was so expensive, it is much more profitable the plant a regular waterlon instead of dealing it with the pink lon.

Those kinds of plants are also a good plant to put on the field as they will take a long ti to grow, and needs little understanding to grow. One just needs to be skillful enough to grow it out of nothing.

Elaina continues to plant the crops one by one and filling the whole fields with crops. After Elaina is done with the task, the field is ready for the growing part. Of course, it is up to the situation whether the plan works. The only way Elaina can track the durability is using the Almanac and even with the almanac, it only displays nurical value of its durability and not how much damage it can soak up in just a few minutes.

As she is observing the field in case she needed to replant a few, the teleportation terminal suddenly activates itself. The Guards quickly gathered around the terminal and soon was welcod by the group that everyone was waiting for. The group of Duke Darcy who was thought to have fallen and killed by the monsters on the field.

"Duke Blackwing! How is the expedition?"

Duke Darcy nodded with a smile on his face. "It is a success. The difficulty spike is crazy though but we managed. And also, thanks to the dicines that Miss Elaina had sold to us, we wouldn’t even be surviving the many battles we had just now."

Elaina was surprised to hear it. "Really? The dicines didn’t disappoint?"

"Not at all. In fact, if not for those dicines you have sold to us, we will be dead by now. The dicines that was sold to us is what made us survive the ordeal and managed to push through the third strata. If not for those, we would be dead by now. And I am not exaggerating."

Duke Darcy then pulls out a paper and handed it to the guard. "Send this to the Adventurer’s guild and let them read my report. The second and third strata is sothing that cannot be dealt easily with just luck. There would definitely be death in the midst of exploring the place if one is not careful enough.

The guard made a salute and imdiately left to send the ssage to the higher ups. anwhile, Duke Darcy and his group slump to the ground and a few of them even went directly to sleep even wearing their full plate armor and not caring about anything else. It was like they run out of anything to work with and can only lie and sleep. The fatigue that seems to have accumulated from their entire ti staying in the second and third strata is enough to drain all of their energy.

Approaching the group, Elaina smiled at Duke Darcy who also spotted her coming near. "Congrats on finishing the battle Duke Darcy. Everyone got worried since it has been 2 days and almost 3 since you and your other people left. They thought that you and your companions have been felled by the enemies and are waiting for rescue," Elaina explained.

"Haha, pretty accurate I must say. But honestly, if not for the dicine you have sold to us, we will not be here and I am not going to be talking with you due to the severe injuries we have taken from fighting the enemies. A few of us have been on the verge of dying, only to survive and continue to live on normally. Especially the black fruit-like dicine that is so bitter to eat? If not for that one, we would not survive the variety of troubles that have co to strike us."

"You an the EX-2 fruits?"

"Is that the na? Well, thanks to that fruit, we managed to push through and get to the third strata alive and return ho without any casualty. And because of that, I thank you to the bottom of my heart."

Elaina smiled. "It’s nothing, Duke Darcy. You all have gotten there thanks to your abilities. The dicines might have helped, yes, but those ds will not find its purpose without you all drinking it."
