Chapter 328: Soil Plundered from the Labyrinth
"A presence from the Abyss..."
Elaina had heard of the abyss before but she thought it was just a legend used to scare children and it’s nothing but a myth. But to hear this from the gods, perhaps it was a real deal and she couldn’t help but shudder at the thought.
"[These guys are similar to the gods in power... it’s just that they are more focused on corrupting the world rather than letting the world flourish like what we gods do.]" the God of Farming explained.
"[That’s why labyrinths existed. It should have been only dungeons and monsters only that should exist but after the death of the God of the dungeons, soone from the abyss seems to have utilized that function and used it to develop these labyrinths.]"
"What? So that ans labyrinths shouldn’t exist in the first place? And a dead god?" Elaina was surprised. After all, she thought they were the sa thing. And to hear that there was a god who actually died
"[That’s what we thought too as well...until I discussed the matter with my father during the ti when you cannot be observed by our powers. As for the God of Dungeons, he was the one who developed and made the monsters in the dungeons. He designed it so that people can train their abilities and beco strong and ensure that they have a fighting chance in case enemies from the abyss decided to attack.]"
Hearing the explanation from the Goddess of Taming, now she understand why the monsters she kills in the labyrinth just disappear like it was nothing. Still, she wonders how the abyss are actually able to replicate the dungeon without replicating the actual thing. It doesn’t even use the actual monsters but just use so kind of creature that disappears completely after killing.
"Ah, I rembered sothing, Goddess of Taming about the quest you gave
before I dived into the labyrinth. I think that is impossible to do."
"[Eh? What do you an?]"
"I am not sure if what I thought about the monsters inside the labyrinth is true but they are not regular living monsters like the ones that lived in the wild or in the dungeons. You see, once they are killed, they disintegrate to ashes and disappear, only leaving loot like they didn’t exist in the first place."
Hearing that, the Goddess of Taming went silent for a bit and the Goddess of dicine took over in her place.
"[Well, it seems she was in shock so I will take over for now. Anyway, I have seen among your loot the pots of soil and a few bundles of soil inside a plastic container. Where did you get all of that?]" she asked.
"Ah, you noticed? Well, where else? I got them from the labyrinth when I passed by the final hallway that led
to the boss room of the first strata. It was a very good quality of soil and I can’t just pass on it considering that a few of them are even inside a ceramic pot and since I carried a storage dinsional bag, I didn’t hesitate to pack them inside and plundering every soil they have available."
In the God’s realm, the Goddess of dicine started laughing after hearing the explanation while the God of Farming was flabbergasted by how Elaina plundered the soil of the labyrinth.
"[Hahahaha! Interesting, Elaina. I must say that my first impression with you has been wrong. You are definitely interesting. For a human, instead of treasure and precious items to plunder...you instead plundered the soil of the labyrinth and brought it back ho like a trophy of value. Hahaha, this is so funny...]"
She might not be able to hear the Goddess of dicine laughing since they are just talking using these little chat boxes before Elaina but she can already picture in her head how a stern goddess would suddenly laugh.
"[I...I don’t know what to say... but this is indeed new, Elaina. You just plundered the labyrinth with its soil...which ans the soil must be quite good...yes?]"
Elaina nodded. "[Yes! It is also one of the main reasons I took it with . The soil is on par of the soil that is present on the farm but with the fertilizer already mixed in to the soil. And the soil I plundered is still free from any fertilizers making this one of the best soil patches I got. Even the soil from the Four Seasons dungeon is incomparable!"
The God of Farming pondered. "[Interesting. For soil to be that good, it should have at least been introduced to a fertilizer as regular soil couldn’t just beco that capable without the help of a fertilizer. For dungeon soils, they are different as well as they run on a different rule compared to regular soil and with little utilization for farming, it beca natural that the dungeon soil beco healthy after accumulating a lot of nutrients over the years. But I never heard of a Labyrinth soil and this is the first ti I have heard of it.]"
"I plan to use it tomorrow. I don’t know the effects of it but I hope we can utilize that soil to our big advantage. After all, a good soil is one of the things that a farr needed to grow their crops.]"
"[Haaa...even though the act of you plundering so soil is a bit funny, I am a bit jealous of the God of Farming for being able to choose soone so dedicated on their craft. The girl living with Elaina is good and dedicated as well, but she isn’t focusing much on dicine which is why I am a bit jealous you have soone who can do various things and yet still prioritize in things related to farming even though she shouldn’t need to do so.]"
The God of Farming seemingly felt proud and superior of her puffed his chest. "[But of course! Elaina is soone I deed as the one who achieve leaps and bounds which is why I didn’t just limit her to farming. Soone of her caliber should pursue other things as well. But you know . I have a good eye on people!]"
"[Bah, I am praising Elaina and not you, you dumbass. We should stop talking to her right now and let her rest. She did a lot today. It would be not a good idea to continue disturbing her during her rest.]"
After the banter of the two, Elaina smiled and lie on her bed. She still couldn’t believe that talking to the Gods has beco a normal thing for her. If anyone from the other various religious sects know that Elaina is talking directly to the gods even without the need of using powers that are holy just to send a simple ssage to the gods, they would start malding and Elaina don’t know what they would do in the process.
But the gods are right. She needed a rest as tomorrow will be another day of work. For a farr, there is no breaks and it is another day of work.

Back in the labyrinth, the labyrinth manager monster assigned of making new things that would incite adventurers to take is ready to utilize the labyrinth’s hallways to do his deed. Without the boss spawning after it was killed, the dungeon manager is free to do whatever he wanted without getting mauled by an angry bull.
Carrying the seeds of the human eating plants, he went to the patches of soil he prepared in advanced which he painstakingly gathered in the most dangerous but the most fertile strata of the dungeon and transferred it to the first strata. It is his way of transforming the first strata to be a bit more dangerous than normal. The labyrinth manager wanted to ensure that no humans will survive next ti and think the first strata was easy.
Arriving at his target location, the manager pulls out his tools for planting the human eating plants and ready them when he noticed sothing strange.
The labyrinth manager wasn’t sure about it at first glance since he thought he was just mistaken but now that he got close, he realized he wasn’t just mistaken. Sothing was missing and it wasn’t just nothing he would be able to ignore. It was a thing he needed to make the new changes in the labyrinth.
He scratches his head in frustration. The soil that he was painstakingly gathering before and prepared for the project has gone missing. Not just missing that only a few handful but the entirety of the soil. And to makes matters worse, the ceramic pots that he painstakingly acquired after dealing with monster pots are also missing. Those pots might be a lot but those pots were good and aesthetically pleasing to look in the eyes which is why he choose them.
But never in his life would he thought that those pots would be disappear and be taken away alongside with the soil.
Scratching his head, he stood up and sighed. It seems he needed to do another round of soil gathering once more.
