Chapter 296: The Goddess of Cooking
One of the featured locked pages that the Almanac had after its update was the cooking page. For Elaina to unlock it, she needed to learn recipes. This past year, Elaina has been cooking various things, and she has lost track of how many recipes she has learned by then. So it was a big shock for her to see the page that was previously locked open all of a sudden.
It’s her fault as well for not checking and tracking the number of recipes she has learned which is why she was shocked just now. And just like the fishing page of the almanac, the cooking page is accompanied by another god. And this ti, it was soone known as the Goddess of Cooking.
The God of Farming noticed the changes of the almanac and imdiately went to check on Elaina.
"[It seems you are successful in creating sothing that allowed the page of cooking to unlock, fulfilling the conditions for it to be free from its frozen state.]"
"Well, I wasn’t aware of the number of recipes I have learned so far so seeing it unlock all of a sudden made
startled a bit. I was just getting so help in making so artisan products the Feys know and getting this all of a sudden is sothing I wasn’t even expecting in the slightest. I thought I was still far from the conditions."
"[So you just leave it be and unlocked it naturally without stress? That’s good to know. And from the looks of it, the artisan products seem to count as "cooking" which ans that it satisfies the condition of the page.]"
Considering that most Artisan Products does indeed need to be cooked, it can be said that it does count in cooking. Which also ans that she can make more Artisan Products and make it count over on the recipes for cooking.
"Where is the Goddess of Cooking though? I thought she would start speaking to
now that I have unlocked her page."
"[She is still busy at the mont. But she have already said that she will be coming soon and will talk and discuss to you about this matter. For now, you should start cleaning up with the Feys now that you lot have done everything. Also, it should be getting late now in the human world. Shouldn’t you be resting now?]" the God of Farming suggested.
Elaina nodded and started helping the Feys with the cleanup. Thankfully, there wasn’t much to clean up and only need to carry so stuff here and there and so dishes and cooking utensils to wash. Aside from that, there’s nothing else to clean up. Since there was still plenty of the Apple Sauce, Elaina invited the Feys to join them to eat the Apple Sauce with Princess Margaux who is so speechless on the taste that she just consud the Apple Sauce with gusto. She also didn’t forget about Julia and her twins.
Since the twins are already eating solid foods now and they are old enough for more variety, Elaina concluded that they can get the apple sauce as another soft variety of solid food that they can eat aside from the infant cereals and fruit puree that Julia makes from ti to ti.
The night passed by with everyone enjoying the Apple sauce. It was a massive success.

That night, after Elaina tuck in the twins to sleep, the God of Farming contacted Elaina again.
"[Looks like you are still awake,]" the God of Farming greeted.
"I was about to go to bed but I am still free. Sothing wrong?"
"[No. But soone wants to talk to you. You already know who it is.]"
"Ah, you an the Goddess of Cooking?"
At that mont, the Goddess of Cooking sent a ssage.
"[Hello dearie. It seems you finally unlocked my page at long last. I didn’t expect you to be done with it soon enough. I am the Goddess of Cooking and I supervise anything that is related to cooking and creating products that are related to cooking food. Just call
Mrs. Chef if you like. It is my profession anyways,]" the Goddess of Cooking introduced herself.
"Mrs?" Elaina frowned. She didn’t know gods and goddesses can have significant others.
"[Ah, pardon . My husband is the God of Fire. You might not know this, but gods and goddesses do get married as well. Thanks to the help of the God of Marriage and Marital Union, even us gods do get to experience what humans call love.]"
It was a new information for Elaina and she was slightly shocked to know this was the case. Still, knowing that the gods can get married, it is good to know.
"Then, does that an the God of Farming is also married?" Elaina asked.
"[Ahem, let’s talk with the original topic, people. Also, I am single. I am not yet married so don’t call
a married man just yet. That has yet to cross my mind.]"
The Goddess of Cooking seems amused and jokingly teased the God of Farming. "[Alright, dear. But you should think of who you should marry soon. If you are having a fancy with one of the goddesses, I can even hook you two up!]"
"[Let’s get into topic so that Elaina can rest now, yes?]"
"[Yes, yes. Anyways, Dearie. Your na is Elaina right? Now that you have unlocked the page dedicated to , that must an you will also be blessed by my blessing. Of course, since you are starting out, you will only have the slight effect of that blessing. But the more recipes you learn, the more you cook and the higher your mastery in cooking becos, the stronger the blessings goes as well. In fact, you might even invent a few dishes of your own in the higher levels. But since you are starting out, just do it one step at a ti, yes?]"
"But I can’t focus on cooking much as I will be always be busy with my kids and the farm most of the ti. If I make so artisan products, I will not always be the one making them."
"[Don’t worry. I am not pressuring you on adding more things in your responsibility. Just treat it as a little hobby you just started, yes? That way, you won’t be pressured. And besides, there’s no need for you to be too worried as I didn’t give any sort of ti-limited task for you to complete. Do it at your own ti and enjoy cooking to your hearts content, my dearie!]"
Elaina sighed in relief. Now that she is starting to do well in the farm, she is also starting to get busy. She didn’t want to have more jobs than she can finish and she didn’t want to disappoint the gods who are expecting sothing in return.
"[As the Goddess of Cooking said, treat it as a sideline. It’s not like you need to rush yourself to master many things. Do it slowly, but surely,]" the God of Farming added.
"Is that how it is? You don’t need
to complete so kind of task?"
"[I might give you a task here and there, but it won’t be a frequent one and there is no ti limit for these tasks either. So don’t worry too much.]"
"What is my real goal for this though? In fishing, I have a goal to catch as many fishes of different variety as much as I can, in taming, I have to ta variety of monsters and turn them to friendly pets or livestocks if possible, farming involves with
spreading various plants that the God of Farming is experinting, and the latest one is the Goddess of dicine who asked
to grow variety of herbs that can be of use for dicine. Surely, there is also an end goal for this one, yes?" Elaina inquired. After all, there is no way she doesn’t have an end goal for all of this.
"[Hmmm...an endgoal huh? Honestly...I don’t have any kind of idea what kind of endgoal you think would be good for you. Honestly, just cook and gain lots of cooking recipes...I guess?]"
"Wait...no endgoal?" Elaina was surprised.
"[Yeah. I didn’t have one in the first place. After all, cooking is versatile and everyday, there are various dishes that are born out of nowhere. It would be a big task for you to collect all recipes and gather them as one, don’t you think?]"
Collecting recipes and completing the collection sounds like a tough work. And the Goddess of Cooking is right. Unlike the collection of fishes which sounds a bit viable, cooking is going to escalate harder. Not only is there variety of cooking dishes, there are also variety of those sa dishes that completely changes the dishes from their original form. It is a cluster of various stuff that is not easy to track with.
"[Honestly, Elaina. My goal in here is to make you a good cook that would allow you to participate in cooking competition. It’s an easy and achievable task so it wasn’t ant to be an endgoal...so if you really want an endgoal, then fill the cookbook page of the almanac. The God of Farming already gave
permission to give you lots of free pages that would make the Almanac as a cookbook as well. I don’t mind if you don’t collect all dishes around the world, but just fill up the cookbook pages as much as you can.]"
The task is hard, but at least, it wasn’t impossible either. And Elaina plans to master cooking in the future as well. So this isn’t going to be a waste of ti.
"You can count of ! Nice working with you, Goddess of Cooking!"
"[Hehe, what a polite young woman. Good to be working with you as well, dearie.]"
That day, Elaina obtained the blessing of cooking. A blessing that would slowly grow with Elaina in the future the longer she stays in the kitchen, creating various recipes.
