Chapter 292: The Trial Is Not My Business

"Ah, what a great morning today! A good day to harvest crops I must say."

Elaina muttered to herself as soon as she stepped outside the door and got herself exposed to the warm sunlight outside.

The reason she is happy right now is because it is harvest ti and the field that was once barren is now full of vibrant colors from various crops that she has planted at the beginning of the season. The fertilizer worked and now Elaina is currently harvesting her produce in advance, faster than the other farrs who also started planting during the beginning.

And since she has gone all out in planting all her leftover seeds from last spring, the place is now full of crops and fruits that have their fruits hanging under their leaves or just swelling underneath the soil, signifying they are ready for picking up.

"Morning boss! It seems we will be having lots of work to do today!" Bam greeted Elaina alongside his family.

"You are right, Mr. Bam. But that isn’t a bad thing! With these many crops to harvest, I can say that we can have a lot of stuff we can have for ourselves and many more for selling. That is sothing that didn’t happen last spring."

"I agree. Still, are you sure that we can keep a lot of them after harvest? This feels like not fair," Bam glances at the fully grown field and seems to be feeling guilty.

"What are you talking about, Mr. Bam? Co on, we are no longer strangers to feel like that. With how your family does a lot of the work on the farm, I must say that the paynt in this form feels insufficient for . So take as much as you can!"

Poe pat Bam’s shoulders and gave him a thumbs up. "I told you, you are just overthinking things. Boss is cool with it!"

Elaina smiled at the family before her. They might not be humans but they are very efficient workers that are much more efficient than humans themselves. Having their help around the farm with only paynt of handing out a few harvests from ti to ti and giving supplies to them while there are still no harvests feels unbalanced for Elaina. Still, the family still feels like they are taking too much and are feeling guilty. This is why she trusts them a lot she is no longer thinking about them as strangers. They are partners in business, and she considers them friends and part of the family as well.

"Alright, enough of that sentints. Like I said before, your family can take a lot of the harvests as paynt. Take a bit more than usual, you guys only take the bare minimum it feels like I am forcing too much labor on you guys while also paying small."

Bam sighed in resignation. He can’t really argue with his boss, but he feels more respect for Elaina.

"Alright, the heat will just get worse later on so we should do the work before the heat gets real unbearable!"

Then, Julia goes outside currently dressed up with Princess Margaux behind her.

"Where are you guys going?" Elaina asked.

"Sis, are you not going to look at the trial of your parents? That should be today, right?"

Elaina closed her eyes and tried to rember and realized that it was indeed the day that Princess Tabatha said that the date of the trial of her parents would be held today...and she completely forgot about it until Julia reminded her about it.

"Are you not going to watch and see the verdict, Miss Elaina?" Princess Margaux asked.

Elaina sighed and shook her head. "As much as they are my parents...I am no longer caring whatever happened to them. The Trial is not my business in any way, shape, or form."

She fully rejects the notion of those two people being related to her. She already started to forget that they are the main reason why she is alive today. She might be grateful that she is alive and is currently enjoying her life today, but because their cris and whatever stuff they did has been more troubleso and life-threatening than being helpful, Elaina doesn’t care about their fate anymore.

"If you guys are going to watch the trial, then go and do it. I will not stop you guys. Just don’t force

to go and watch that trial. I would rather focus all my attention on my crops and enjoy the harvesting process than get stressed by them."

Julia bowed down to Elaina. "Sorry about that, Sis. Alright, thanks for giving permission. We are curious on what will happen to them so even if you don’t want to know, at least we have an idea and we can tell you if you are curious enough in the future."

After apologizing, Julia left followed by Princess Margaux who also bowed before trailing behind Julia.

Elaina sighed and shook her head. "Ugh...that turned my day sour quickly."

...

...

...

Since both of the girls are out, Elaina put the twins outside the patio with Zaza and Shardu. A little while later, the Harvest Goddess, Alessa, and her baby Mier ca out to have a fresh air, allowing Elaina to let them watch over the twins while Elaina was working. Of course, she would be heading and handling whatever the twins needed, she just needed soone to watch the twins in case they were in trouble. The situation related to Elaina’s parents imdiately disappeared from her mind. For her, they are not important. In her mind, the only thing important for her right now is the safety and comfort of her children, and the crops that are needed to be harvested.

Elaina did the work with the Feys. Then, Curaj joins the harvesting process after he finishes his task of taking care of the animals, allowing the job to process faster.

Around lunchti, work was halfway done and Elaina announced lunch break for the ti being when Julia and Princess Margaux returned. Their expressions are blank but Elaina didn’t ask. She is not interested in what happened to them. Julia also understood what Elaina wanted and decided not to say anything and just greeted Elaina when they returned. Princess Margaux wanted to tell Elaina the result, but Julia shook her head and stopped her from doing so.

"Why are you stopping , Miss Julia? She needed to know! This is about her parents after all!"

Julia shook her head. "No. Just let it be. If Sis wants to know, we will know. And if the news ever gets to her, then let’s just leave it at that. Right now, she didn’t want to be associated with them and we should respect that."
