Chapter 285: Cursed Tools

"Daito..." Elaina held her sword up after she learned its na.

"Pretty simple na, eh? I thought there was so sort of deeper aning to its original na before but after learning what it actually ant, it was just a literal translation that I wasn’t expecting to know how simple nas seem to carry so sort of peculiarity."

After showing off the Shoto, he put it back on its scabbard and put it on the side.

"The Daito and Shoto are both partners in battle and were made to complent each other’s weaknesses and on how to fight in different locations. The Daito is mainly used for fighting outdoors while Shoto is mainly for fighting indoors due to its length and how it is a lot more similar to daggers and knives in general. However, based on how you move, you have already used the weakness of the Daito to your advantage and used it for your playstyle to fight. In short, you don’t need the Shoto’s assistance in battle anymore."

Elaina nodded. It is indeed good to have two swords at disposal...but she is not a fighter and she only uses her trusty partner in battles that need her to protect sothing. She is not out there for the blood which the sword was designed for, she is now using the sword to protect.

"A weapon is not ant to kill. It is ant to protect. It seems you have the right mind to handle a weapon that can kill. Knowing that one of the works that my master once made has survived and has served its purpose is sothing that he would be really happy to know. Keep it up."

The two continued to talk for quite a while when soone arrived carrying a bunch of black items inside a trolley.

"GRANDPA! I am back. Oh, do you have a visitor? That’s a bit rare! Didn’t know you still get recognized even though you have already been passing through the calendar days!" the upbeat lady who also has a short stature like the elder cheerfully joked around her grandpa who almost choked on the water that he had been drinking.

"Insolent brat, just because I have been living for many years doesn’t an I have already been phased out by the new generation. There is a reason I am still the elder of the elves so don’t you dare underestimate what I can do."

"Alright, alright. Anyways, where do I dump these cursed tools?" the lady chuckled before shifting the topic quickly to what she was carrying.

"What do you an dump?! Store them sowhere far from the reach of others! They are frigging cursed! Why are you just even going to dump it randomly anywhere?!"

"Haha, I am just ssing with you, Grandpa. Anyway, I will take one of the empty crates, alright?"

After that, she grabbed one of the crates lying on the side and disappeared while carrying the trolley and the crates.

"Cursed Tools?" Elaina frowned.

"You didn’t know? The mines housed so of the cursed tools that have been here for many years. They are quite good tools to use...but with a negative downside that you will not like to have. Usually, it is mostly like swords, spears, armor and the stuff, but lately, we have been finding farm tools."

When the elder ntioned farm tools, Elaina’s eyes lit up.

"Farm tools?"

"Yes. Farm tools. Watering cans, garden hoes, shovels, you na it. A cursed farm tool might have one present for you."

The elder glanced at Elaina and he frowned at the odd glint on her eyes. "I don’t like the look in your eyes, young lady."

"Say, do these tools make it possible to be blessed? Like, remove their curses?"

"They can...but they are not easy to achieve and unless you want to suffer and experience the curse firsthand, then forget about it," the Elder warned.

"Experience the curse? What do you an? What does blessing the cursed tool have to do with experiencing the cursed tool’s effects?" Elaina asked.

"Just like what I said. If you want to remove the effects of its curse, you will have to experience the tool’s cursed effects and suffer from it before you can lift off its effects and make it a blessed tool."

The Elder then opened one of the crates he had and using a tool that grabs things tightly, he pulled out a pickaxe and tossed it over to the ground.

"If you wanted to get a blessed tool, one has to accept and use a cursed tool to its fullest and accept its flaws before one can appreciate what the blessed tool can even do. Don’t worry, it won’t kill you and the tool is not that bad even when cursed...but it can get in your everyday life for quite so ti that you might wish you would have not taken the chance to do it instead. If you are ready, grab and hold that tool with your hands. Don’t worry, I will help you with blessing the tool itself for free so if you want to challenge yourself, grab the opportunity and the tool is yours."

Elaina was a bit reluctant at first since it was a cursed tool. Just from the na itself, a curse is not a good thing. She might be curious at first since if there is a curse, that must an it can be removed. But she never had it once in her life to take on a curse and use it for herself.

So her first course of action is to ask the God of Farming for information and suggestions.

"What do you think, God of Farming? Should I undertake the challenge?" Elaina asked.

The God of Farming quickly replied. "I am reluctant of you to accept the challenge, my dear. I don’t have data related to cursed tools...but if they are indeed good, then isn’t it your win?"

Despite Elaina’s second thoughts on the matter, there is sothing enticing about the Cursed tool for so reason. Perhaps one of its effects is causing people to feel like they want to use it for themselves.

"Alright...but can I have either the Gardening Hoe or the Watering Can instead?"

The Elder was surprised but he didn’t say anything and picked up the pickaxe and replaced it with the Gardening hoe. It is indeed in the shape of the Gardening hoe that Elaina can see in the tool store and gardening stores but with its color of black and its weird aura, the tool is sowhat causing so challenges to even approach.

But for Elaina, she is born to take risks. Now, it is ti for her to know what this cursed tool have for her.
