Chapter 230: Servants of Winter

The tight space that was once the room of Elaina was soon encased to ice as the core of the Snow Man was destroyed. As a result of doing so, even Elaina has been frozen as well. However, although she got encased in ice, Elaina brutally forced herself out of the ice and broke away successfully.

"Ugh!"

Elaina almost collapsed as she leaned her arm to the floor trying to ensure that she didn’t fall over to the ice and injure herself in the process. Despite only getting encased in the ice for several seconds, her breath has almost disappeared and if she didn’t get to break out after that, she would have ceased breathing in the process. She spasms as she tries to gasp for more air. It seems like after the explosion, even the remaining air in the room has been frozen as well.

There are several knocks at the door and soon, Princess Margaux and the others decide to break the door open, allowing themselves to enter the room that got frozen over.

"SIS!" Julia imdiately increased the temperature of the room by casting her magic, defrosting all of the ice that ford in the process. Elaina also started to breathe normally as the air started to circulate once more.

"Hey, Farr. You alright? I thought you were going to be a goner there."

Elaina coughed a few tis as she recovered from the process.

"My children...are they alright?" Elaina asked as she was still worried about them.

"No need to worry, Alessa is currently guarding them right now. I also checked them for injuries or any sort of bad things like curses and stuff. Nothing so far and they are not hard. It seems the Snow Man just appeared not too long before we entered allowing us to sweep in and save them before it can do sothing."

Standing up, Elaina approached the sword that destroyed the core in the process. It is still unscathed and still looking new despite suffering the sa freezing attack. Pulling it out of the wall, the remains of the Snow Man fell to the floor and shattered to pieces, leaving behind its tattered clothes that exploded after it died and the remains of the broken core that was pierced by the sword.

"But how did the Snow Man appear here all of a sudden? The windows are even closed, so how?" Elaina opened the window and double-checked if it malfunctioned and the lock was not present but the window had no problem at all.

"[Elaina. The Snow Man is capable of shapeshifting into the air and back to its corporeal form allowing it to move around in various areas and slip through gaps that should not be possible to be accessed while it has its solid body. Most likely the Snow Man entered the room using the gaps in your window that allowed air to enter a bit and materialized after letting everything inside the room. Most likely it just finished returning to its regular form when you guys arrived.]" The God of Farming answered Elaina’s question.

Hearing the explanation from the God of Farming, she decided to check the gaps over at the window and like he just said, there was a gap. However, it was so small that even her fingers couldn’t even poke at it. Perhaps a toothpick can enter the gap but other than that, it was so small that only cold air seeps through that hole...and yet the Snow Man managed to use that hole as a way to enter the house without Elaina’s knowledge.

"Those things...only used this small gap just to enter the house...Unforgivable..."

Weakly, Elaina stood up and headed to the living room to check over on her babies. She can still hear their cries as a result of the shock of eting the Snow Man earlier.

"I will check outside and see if there are still more of those monsters roaming. You should calm down, Sis. Your babies will get scared further if you keep your aura like that."

Just like sothing snapped, Elaina realized that she was exuding so bloodlust unintentionally. With both of her babies looking at her, they sohow felt those things from her causing them to cry harder. No wonder they continued to cry even after the ti she lifted both of them. Realizing her mistake, Elaina quickly suppressed her seeping bloodlust and sighed while pacifying the two from crying.

"[Elaina, I am not sure if this sudden appearance of the Snow n is sowhat related to the Ice Lord. However, the Ice Lord is the only one that the Snow n follow orders with. Seeing that the monsters are on the move once again...doesn’t that an...]" the God of Farming seems to know sothing.

"The Ice Lord has returned or sothing?" Elaina guessed.

"[It’s a probability, Elaina. We can’t dismiss that possibility from happening with how the winter seems to be getting worse for Darcero Kingdom, we have a bad feeling that the Ice Lord might be currently on the verge of breaking off of its seal.]"

"Breaking off its seal?" Elaina frowned.

"[Rember when we said before that we sealed the Ice Lord in the past before we ascended?]"

"Yeah. But it was too long ago, right? There is no way that guy is still alive after it was sealed."

"[That is the thing...the Ice Lord was not a human nor it is a god. We consider it as a malevolent entity capable of bringing harm and even us Deities have to take him down before he becos a danger himself.]"

"You an, if the seal itself was slowly waning its effects..."

"[Indeed. If the seal’s effects have waned, that must an the Ice Lord will be capable of breaching again and wreaking havoc around the world. And the Snow n will act as its servants which will soon bring the world to its indefinite freezing process or to call it simply, the Endless Winter...]"
