Chapter 169: Margaux and Curaj

As a way to relieve Princess Margaux’s fears of the unknown stalker and perpetrator who sent the n last night, Elaina suggested that Princess Margaux either observe or help out around the farm to remove her mind from overthinking much about the recent affairs. With Princess Margaux’s innate ability, being around plants and handling them can help beco a stress reliever for her.

Thankfully, it seems Princess Margaux was also up on Elaina’s suggestion, and with Princess Tabatha agreeing to the notion, the forr returned to her room to wear the clothes she specifically used for either farming observation or when she wanted to help out around.

"It must have taken so much of a toll and stress on Princess Margaux’s mind right now the prospect of her marrying an old man like the baron. Still didn’t expect that twist of the story of the little baron, actually being the old baron, living his young life," Elaina scratches her head.

"The old baron is a decent old man in terms of what he was showing in public, but the rumors circling him are disturbing and downright awful, most currently painting him as so cultist who dabbles in black magic so that he can prolong his life. I didn’t believe in those things as he actually "died" last ti, but after the recent discovery we had with him, I don’t think I can think of those rumors as sothing of a passing gossip. That is like sothing dabbled with so truth of so sort," Princess Tabatha said as she clenched her fist.

"We can assu that the Little Baron is now indeed an immortal being, but that doesn’t an he cannot be killed, he is just soone who will continue to live for a long while and might even outlive everyone, including us. And by marrying a princess, eventually, everyone will die, and I think he might try to use himself to enter as the ruler in the future. It’s just a theory but I think it isn’t so far off," Elaina theorizes about the real goal of the little baron and his reason for hiding his real age.

When Princess Margaux finally ca out from the house after changing, Elaina whispered slightly to Princess Tabatha.

"We should leave her for a while and let her soak into nature’s essence. In the anwhile, let’s get this apprenticeship of yours started so that we can finish it as soon as possible. Let’s go to the vacant area of the farm so that we don’t disturb the others working."

Hearing this, Princess Tabatha’s eyes light up and is excited. She imdiately followed Elaina as she gripped her sword excitedly for the training.

On the other hand, Princess Margaux decided to work on the plants. She is already familiar with the work on the farm. Elaina usually allowed her to join and help out occasionally if she asked, allowing her to grasp the basics of everything and allowing her to calmly do the tasks done on the farm. She knows that this will be hard work but she prefers to bury herself in hard work rather than stressing herself further to the trouble the Little Baron brought to her mind.

As she approached the fields, Elaina noticed soone else working on the field aside from Julia who was currently supervising the other person setting up so trellis that were ant for the grapes to climb on.

She approached closer to greet the two but soon, she saw sothing different from the other person. Unlike the others, this guy before her...has two large horns on each side of his head. He looks like he has two immature horns of a bull growing on his head.

While she was shocked, Julia saw Princess Margaux approach and stop in her tracks when she saw Curaj who was busy on the trellis. Knowing what was currently happening in her situation and why she was here, Julia called her attention to let her forget what she experienced and also to introduce the two to each other.

"Hey, Princess! Co over here!" Julia tried to get Princess Margaux’s attention, causing the latter’s attention to Curaj’s horns to waver and approach them. This also allowed Princess Margaux to get closer to Curaj and fully see his two horns.

Curaj who was busy with his work was startled when Julia started calling the princess and was almost shirked away after the Princess stopped beside him.

"Princess, it’s only been a few days but it already felt like a few years since you are not around," Julia said to let Princess Margaux get her guard down and to also relax a little bit.

"Hehe, just gotten busy a bit in the castle, nothing too big, really. But I am more surprised that Miss Elaina decided to hire soone else," Princess Margaux then glanced at Curaj who remained calm as he continued to do his work on the trellis, still hiding his nervousness before her.

"Oh right, this is your first ti eting our new big guy, yes? I think you two should get to know each other. Princess, this guy is our resident muscle, Curaj. Curaj, this is the Princess of Darcero Kingdom and one of our friends who is currently staying in the farmhouse for the ti being.

"Uh...hi, Princess. I am Curaj. If you feel threatened by my presence, just say so and I will not show myself up to you."

"W-what? N-no, what are you saying? Why do I feel threatened by you? Don’t worry about it," Princess Margaux panicked as she thought she might have offended the young man before her.

"Calm down, Curaj. Princess Margaux might be royalty but she doesn’t discriminate against other people like you. Princess, don’t be afraid, Curaj is just a regular demi-human. He is a halfling, by the way, half human and half minotaur which is why he has those two big horns on his head. But don’t worry, he is gentle. He is what you can call a "gentle giant" so to speak," Julia joked about it.

Curaj scratched his head and nodded in response. "If you don’t like to see my horns, just tell . I can just hide them if you don’t like it, Princess."

"No, no. Your horns are beautiful, so don’t hide it, please!" Princess Margaux said nonchalantly causing the guy to blush after hearing it.

"T-thanks...no one has complinted my horns as beautiful...but I appreciate it."

Julia grinned seeing that there was so little unsparked potential between the two. It’s not yet fully blazing, but there is a little spark that she can try to increase and Julia likes where this is going. Knowing what Princess Margaux’s experiences, having soone like Curaj be with her might be a good idea actually as Curaj can easily protect her if necessary.

She didn’t do anything weird imdiately and just let the matter blow up for now.

"Anyways, now that the two of you are acquainted with each other, we should begin our strategy in growing the seeds right now. With Sister allowing

to help out on this project, we needed to help out each other so that we could be done a lot sooner than expected. We can’t keep on leaving this process to the Feys after all."

The other two nodded and Princess Margaux started to help out in setting up the trellis. Curaj continues to do the task normally but his mind is filled up with the complint he received from Princess Margaux. After all, for the first ti in his life, soone else aside from her mother complinted his horns and didn’t treat them like so nuisance of so sort like most adults who discriminate how he looks.

As for Princess Margaux, for the first ti in her life, she felt a minor attraction to the young man before her. He might not be a regular human, but that doesn’t change that he has the features of a regular young boy. Seeing his physique was enough to send Princess Margaux to so sort of realm that allowed her to feel excited and tempted to even touch his horns. Although his horns are indeed horns, they don’t grow outward, but very similar to how a goat with a horn usually grows, it spins around, making this spiral shape that many know.

The two helped out on the works and with Princess Margaux’s help, the significant number of work that should be done has decreased. Although it isn’t so dramatic as far as she knows, having fewer jobs to do for the day is equal to no trouble at all.

With the proficiency of the three doing the work together, it didn’t take long for the trellis to be complete. The Feys even started praising the place for being developed as well.

"And with that, our work should be done, we should take a good lunch," Elaina ordered to everyone.

"Wow, no wonder I feel hungry all of a sudden," Princess Margaux rubs her belly.

"Then, why don’t the three of us eat together while we talk?"

Hearing this, Curaj’s heart starts to palpitate. What is he even gonna do?
