Chapter 158: The Harvest Goddess Defends

As soon as the trident hits the stream’s surface, Elaina can tell that this will be bad news for them. Alessa and Mier’s hiding place is now revealed.

BOOM!

Water splashes all over the field as the barrier that separates the Harvest Goddess’s realm and the surface has been broken.

"There we go, it seems that these people here are lying to their teeth about not hiding my daughter," the king of the rfolk turned to look in the direction of Elaina and the others.

"What are we going to do now, Your Majesty? Are we going to punish them? Even the king of humans has no say in this matter," one of the soldiers said as they looked at Elaina and the others with contempt.

The king of rfolk’s eyes stops at the belly of Elaina and Elaina doesn’t like how sticky his gaze is.

"Bring the pregnant woman, the rest, kill them."

When Elaina heard this, she wanted to go into full rage mode again but since she already has done this many tis, she didn’t want to endanger the lives of her kids anymore and despite the overwhelming presence of the king, she is not afraid of them.

But before she could even do anything, the Harvest Goddess did sothing unexpected that even Elaina and the others didn’t expect her to suddenly do.

The mont one of the soldiers extracted Alessa and Mier who were squirming to get away from their grasp, the Harvest Goddess used her ability to instantly grow multiple vines that suddenly ensnared everyone excluding Alessa and Mier.

"Not on my watch, rfolk invaders. If you plan to bring harm to this farm and everyone, you will all have to pass over my dead body first," the Harvest Goddess proclaid while also rescuing both Alessa and Mier, bringing them over to the side of Elaina and the others.

The king of rfolk was indeed hurt, but using his scales, he nullified the damage of the thorny vines and snapped it out of everyone with his trident. The Harvest Goddess did not react to him ripping the vines off, it was never ant to kill, it was ant to slow them down and for her to rescue the mother and daughter in their hands.

Shardu and Zaza are both ready to attack but Elaina stops them. Their wounds have recently healed and if they decide to fight, those wounds will reopen and they might even die in the process as the odds of winning are very much on the edge of these guys.

"This is quite a surprise. So you decided to turn and betray our beliefs and tradition just like that Alessa?! You are willing to side with the humans just so you can have a family with that sacrifice?!" the king firmly shouted.

"Even if you are my father, I am not going to just let you take my baby and call her a sacrifice. She is both my flesh and blood and even if I have to betray the whole kingdom just for her, I will do so!"

The king of the rfolk started laughing and stopped before he looked at everyone defending Alessa and Mier.

"If she wanted to beco a land dweller so badly, then so be it. Soldiers, now that our tradition is blasphed by my daughter, I permit you all to kill her and bring the baby to . She is not needed for the ritual to happen."

The soldiers roared and started to attack, but before the rfolk soldiers could do so, a huge wall made of thorny vines suddenly encased the whole house, and even the house of the Feys as well, protecting them from any attacks in the process. It was none other than the Harvest Goddess doing it on her own accord.

DENG DENG DENG!

The weapons of the rfolk bounce back to the wall of vines like they were ineffective. It was like the wall of vines was not made of plants but rather of tal.

But as a result of doing so, the Harvest Goddess exhausted herself so much that her skin looked pale and she could no longer float like usual. She is even coughing blood.

"Harvest Goddess!" Alessa tried to get close but the Harvest Goddess stopped her.

"Get to safety first alongside the other noncombatant. We can’t have anyone get defeated by these bastards and try to ruin everything in here."

Curaj seems to have understood the assignnt and drags Alessa inside the house.

The Harvest Goddess also nodded at Elaina but Elaina shook her head.

"I know I shouldn’t be fighting, but I am not just going to let those bastards ruin my farm. I am the owner of this farm and I am not just going to hide in the corner just because of them."

"But your babies..."

"I won’t overexert myself. I am only warned not to exert myself too much right? I will make sure not to do so much of it. Instead, you should have so rest, you even puked so blood, there’s no need for you to be here," Elaina reasoned and threw her reasoning to the Harvest Goddess.

"Heh, nope...can’t do that. If I leave, these barriers I erected would get destroyed imdiately."

She continues to cough blood and even Elaina is now worried.

"Julia, can you cast any healing spell on her? I know you can do a crap version of healing, but that should be enough I think?"

"I don’t know about this, Sis, but I will gonna try."

Julia then proceeds to heal up the Harvest Goddess with her pathetic healing abilities. Elaina already knew that Julia had pathetic healing magic but seeing it firsthand, even she could tell, it was worse than pathetic. She couldn’t heal her properly and it is just pretty random healing. Still, she is doing so "healing" and that is all that matters.

Then, Elaina’s danger instincts suddenly kicked in.

"DUCK!"

As she said and ducked the trident that the king was using pierced through the wall of vines and tore it to pieces. The wall remained intact but a hole remained which allowed the king to peek inside the wall, perhaps to determine the location of the caster.

But for Elaina, she found a great opportunity to strike back. She stood up silently and unsheathed her sword. Before the old rfolk can react, a sword pierces through his left eye, peering through the hole, causing him to cry in pain. Elaina wanted to pierce the guy straight to his skull with her sword but the king was quick to remove himself from the wall of vines and minimize the damage done to his eyes. Although he was safe from the attempted kill, Elaina was also sure that she managed to pierce and destroy one of his eyes in the process.

The Harvest Goddess imdiately repaired the hole before so of the soldiers could do sothing to widen it.

Outside the wall, the cries of the king echo throughout the area, lashing through the place as his eyes are bleeding, causing him to turn to his n and killing a few from his random swings of the trident.

Green blood flows from his body and his screams are in pure horror. For the first ti in his life, this is his first wound ever as he never got wounded in the process due to his defensive ability and his scales that he is prideful for. And for the first ti, those scales did not save him from the damage.

"Stop the king! He is killing our soldiers!"

Everyone tried to stop him and yet, they cannot do anything about him as he continues his little rampage.

As for Elaina, she grinned after hearing what was currently happening outside. She might not be able to see what is currently going on exactly, just hearing the frantic screams of the soldiers and the horrified scream of the king is already music in Elaina’s ears as she readies her sword again in case that happens again.

Back to the outside, it seems the king finally stopped his little rampage. Although his eyes are still bleeding, the healers are doing their absolute best to heal it.

"Did you heal it up?" the king frantically asked as he could still feel the pain in his pierced eye that he was suffering for the first ti.

"What the...why is this not healing at all?!"

As the healers continued to heal the wounds of the king, soone knocked on the gates and this caught everyone’s attention.

"Elaina, I brought grandpa and grandma! They are excited to see you!"

The king who is still writhing in pain, ordered one of his n to open the gates.

"Kill them so that they won’t speak anything on what is currently happening here."

The soldiers nodded and opened the gates, ready to attack while the king continued to heal up on his wound.

"Aye, looks like your sister’s new life isn’t so much peaceful as I thought it would be, Troy," the husky voice of an adult man said as he firmly crushed the head of the rfolk who tried to attack him with a spear, only for it to bounce from his armor.

"W-what is happening?" Troy who was not aware of what was happening was surprised to see his grandfather just kill soone.

"Looks like there are so surprise visitors that your sister didn’t like. Look at that guy, it seems he is trying to heal a wound that cannot be healed. Sheesh, Elaina should have pushed it harder for him to get done with," although she sounds older, her voice still retains so of the mature tone that she currently has back in her pri.

The old man looked at the old woman who was his wife and grinned. The old woman smiled lightly and nodded. They are being surrounded quickly by rfolk and the two seem to be excited about it. As for Troy, he is a bit terrified of what is happening.

"We weren’t expecting trouble, but hey, more enemies are a welco addition!" the old man cracked his knuckles as he looked at the rfolk encircling them.

"Ti to rip them off with their scales, my dear," the old woman grinned and the two will soon beco one of the nightmares that the rfolk people will tell to their future children after surviving the aftermath, but that is another story.
