Chapter 110: The Last Living Pixie

Shock and disbelief. These two emotions registered on the face of the little fairy are the only things she can react to the revelation.

Elaina was watching the exchange so she silently asked the God of Farming for the validity of this matter.

"Hey gods, is it true that the fairies like her are already extinct?"

The Goddess of Taming is the one who answered. "[We don’t call them extinct as she is still alive but if you say that she is the last living fairy of her kind then that is the correct answer. All of the other kinds known as Pixies are gone for good and were already dead many years ago. Maybe you weren’t born yet when they all died since it was so long ago that even I forgot the exact date they were wiped out but it was long ago.]"

The God of Farming joined in the conversation. "[60 years to be exact. Seeing the one who is still alive currently on your farm, Elaina is sothing else. Maybe you can help protect her and perhaps even allow them to repopulate again?]"

"What? I am a woman, rember? And it’s already impossible, especially in size alone!" Elaina complained.

"[These fairies don’t produce like humans and animals. Although they can produce sexually, they can produce new kinds of themselves in the form of growing plants that develop into fairies once they mature. Perhaps cultivating those flowers will help revitalize their population once again.]"

"Eh?" Elaina was startled.

"[To be honest, Elaina, that is one of the tasks I was about to assign to you that was ant to be part of the roles you will perform as a farr doing the job for the gods. However, I postponed this at first because you needed soone from the Pixie or even their remnants to be able to cultivate the flowers that you needed to search for them. I wanted you to do that after you have given birth and settled on the farm that you can now perform expeditions away from your farm just fine but now that the last living Pixie is in your care, then we can even proceed to that plan.]"

"But that was a big task even for ! I am just an ordinary farr!" Elaina felt the pressure.

"[Haha, the mont you started to work for , Elaina, you already ceased to beco a normal farr. You are now one of the blessed farrs who carry my legacy. You might be a human but I believe in the abilities of the humans to achieve the impossible. Don’t worry, we gods will be guiding you on this process.]"

"I don’t think I was confident of doing this task..."

"[A reward will be given to you every ti you complete a task regarding this matter. It will help a lot in your farm and perhaps you might even get a way to use the flowers used to grow the fairies in the process.]" the God of Farming imdiately added.

After hearing that there are rewards for doing so, Elaina’s eyes lit up. "Huh, I might be able to do sothing after all," Elaina grinned.

"[But first, you needed to talk to the fairy. You needed her to fully recover as well to ensure that she wouldn’t die in the process. After all, this process is considered similar to giving birth to a new life. Without her help, you and I can’t do the task. That is just asking the impossible.]" the God of Farming added.

"So in short, we still can’t do it until she will fully recover? Can you determine the amount of ti needed for her to recover fully?"

"[Nope. I am not so god of health and can only examine whether they are plants or sothing. It all depends on her and her will to continue living. Talk to her first and discuss this matter. Now that she learned she is the last of her kind, it might be taking a lot for her to accept it.]" the God of Farming reminded Elaina.

Elaina understood this. Even she would feel empty after realizing this. But how did she survive for so long without even knowing the extinction of her kind?

As Elaina finished talking with the gods, she looked again at the group and she saw the fairy had broken down crying and is now being comforted by the two Feys.

"Boss Elaina, it seems she is having a big trouble accepting the death of her race. I don’t know what to say about this after we told her the truth. What are we going to do?" Bam asked.

"Can you guys take care of her? I will add more from your wage for doing this matter. I needed to talk to her but with her current situation, she will need clear talking for a while. And I think it is wrong to say that her race is completely wiped out. I talked with the gods and it seems that there is still a chance for their race to return."

"There was a way?" Poe was surprised.

"Yeah. But we will have to rely on her. With her current state, we should allow her to take her ti and recover for a bit. Let her cry but don’t let her harm herself. She is in a vulnerable state right now and she needed all the help."

Bam and Poe nodded. "We will help. Also, boss, don’t add more to our wages. We will help because it is what we think is right. Don’t worry, she will be safe with us."

Elaina smiled and with that, the to carried the fairy in a trance inside the house. Shardu looked at Elaina before it started to stretch and returned to the front of the house to go back to sleep. As for Elaina, she will discuss this matter with the gods for a bit once more and clarify this upcoming task.

"So let

clarify this since I have trouble understanding the bits of information I just learned now. What is this flower that you guys are talking about that can allow us to give birth to a new pixie?" Elaina asked.

"[This flower is called the Life seed. Although it wasn’t a literal seed, due to its shape, it is called that. It is part of their essence and the power of the pixies. Even other fairies have this as well but compared to them, this one is different. Although this thod of birth is sothing that should be common for the Pixies, because they are already forming families on their own, this thod was eventually forgotten. We gods didn’t forget this thod as this is sothing that we gods designed for them in the first place.]" the god of farming explained.

"Why do sothing like this?" Elaina asked.

"[Because back then, they die so fast that we fear they will eventually die out in the process. We didn’t expect that it would happen but for a different reason. It’s kind of sad, to be honest.]"

Elaina nodded. Who would have even thought it would happen to begin with? Perhaps the matter was just that humans are walking symbols of destruction to begin with which is why they can’t help but destroy anything in their path.

"[Now that their race is in the final straw, the only way we can resurrect the race who went extinct in the first place, is to return to the propagation of the flowers that would allow them to gain newborn fairies. And for that to happen, the Life Seed is needed.]"

Elaina nodded in response but then she realized sothing. "Wait, if the Life stone is the only way to grow these seeds, are you telling

we will have to extract the seed from that little fairy in the process?! Kill the final fairy?!" Elaina frowned.

"[Hey, where did you even get that kind of idea in the first place?!]" the god of farming was surprised by Elaina’s sudden realization.

"But then how do we even grow that flower without the Life Seed which was the life source of a fairy?

This ti, the one who answered was none other than the God of Fishing. "[Although it sounded alarming and you thought of sothing logical, you don’t need to worry, Dear Elaina. Imparting the power of the life seed to make it bloom is not necessarily going to kill the one giving it power. Although it would weaken them, it won’t kill them unless you ask a weak fairy to do the ritual and let them consu their life force and expend it without care.]"

"How does that work?"

"[Because this is a flower, a flower seed will be necessary of any kind. Once that was acquired, the seed will then need to receive the power of the Life Seed which in turn will turn the seed that was given the power of the Life Seed in the process. Then, soone will plant this seed which in this case, will be you. Cultivate and let it grow, and let the flower bloom and allow the fairies to be born to the flowers. Simple and easy, it doesn’t even kill soone. It only needed effort and a bit of energy.]"
